I get mine off but I do not know why they made the tube go all that way on that long base. They created a new base. They should have moved the shoulder half way up and kept the old air tubes. They would be easier to get off and they would have maintained the original capacity.

in order to fully control the wiring they extended the base, when they did a test on the old ones when they realized there was a issue, there was a 6% failure rate of doa phoenix xl and ones that died prematurely, when switching to this new base which lets them do the insides properly and then retested heavily, it was 1% failure rate.

Now that makes sense. How dare you! :)

I ran into 2 bad ones (where the coils blew out quickly) in the first 10 I opened. I am assuming this is the motivation behind the REBORNS. Based on my experience, it would seem the REBORNS would be an improvement. juice capacity is a concern and perhaps we can continue to work on an agreement there as we weigh our design options.

Sitting down, facing forward.
If the outer barrel is lengthened about .125" or so, the original air tube could easily be used and get back that 20% or so capacity. If that is done and, additionally, the air tube is lengthened a little more, the "dead" space between the inner seal and the tip could be reduced, or eliminated, and even more capacity would be added. Changing the tube length really shouldn't be too much of a problem when they are cut, but the assembly machines, assuming machine assembly, would need to be adjusted to handle to increased length. That could get a little time intensive.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

The tubes do take a little more work to get off, but not that bad, I'm just glad the tube material is very durable.
I cut the wicks flush with openings, seems to be wicking better now, maybe I did not have to do that, it may just take some breaking in time. I'm still only seeing bubbles from one hole when stationary. But flavor and TH are good with the liqua coffee 18mg. I use the phoenix BC 95% of the time and I get nervous when something this good is changed. So time will tell.

Quick question. Has anybody else ordered the new reborn XL's and received the older style XL's ? I just received my order and compared them against each other. There is no difference between the two. Phoenix.jpg Don't get me wrong I truly enjoy using the older style XL's and have had great success with them....I just thought I was going to get something new to try.

Ok I see were I made the mistake:blush: The reborn's come in 2.4 to 2.6 ohms and the originals come 2.6 to 2.8 ohms. So with the longevity of these clearos it may be sometime before I get chance to try these.:(

Did you order the 510 2.6 to 2.8's?? They are still the old style. Only the 2.4 to 2.6 510's are reborn.

dont pull them off, wiggle them off with a little force.
The next cleaning I'll give the wiggle a try. I've always been afraid of stressing the tube too much when getting it off so with the origional CE3's I just pulled straight and hard.

Still really enjoying the vape on these!

Playing around waiting for my vapemail. Here's what I came up with.
Reborn 808 Phoenix Bottom Coil ... Actual 3 ml capacity. Fills the same way as the normal one.

I tried that myself Wally, but I just couldnt stand the rubber taste of those Mom&Pops tank seals...How do you do it?:?:

I was thinking of "Seasoning" them in plain Nic juice for a month, but blew that off...

Apparently my taste buds are nowhere near as sharp as yours yet. I do not detect any rubbery taste or smell. Maybe that'll change when the juice sits in there awhile. For now I'm happy with it. FWIW I do think they are more a silicone substance than plain rubber because I could not detect any odor when I opened the sealed zip baggie with them in it.

Now that you planted the thought I'm sure I'll start tasting it.:)

But then again I have it filled with Americano which is strong scented enough to me to cover anything else up.

Back in the day of my first using tanks, I made my own out of the syringes and the small bottle/vials. There are several grades of those grommets you can get. Some DO taste nasty like rubber, but some DON't taste rubbery at all with no smell either. I can't recall what they were as to the brand, but I got them at my local hardware store to use in my tanks. Got rid of all that stuff when I got hooked on the dusters, vivi's, SRT, etc...Wally may have the good kind so he don't taste it :)

Glad to hear that wally, because the MOD is Killer...

Gosh, Mine were the ones sent from Mom & Pop's...maybe they changed to a different brand/kind of seal???? I dont think it was the red "seals" it was the rubber endcaps themselves that was boogering mine up anyway...

Gee, I wonder if I should hang onto this unopened package of old style PBC's I have and consider selling them at a premium a half year from now. :D

Nooooooooo !!! don't sell Bronze, you may never get the old schools back !!!!!

Hey Wallyo,
Ya I bought the 510 2.6 to 2.8's. And my statement about it may be awhile before I get to try these....well lets face it I'm sure I will see some new and shiny something i just can't be with out....to slip a box or two in on an order:evil:

I am sure something shiny will be along in the near future, but in all honesty there is really no functional difference between the old and the new. I had very few minor issues with the old style. In fact they were so good I could not believe they were changing them. Anyhow, enjoy the ones you have. If I were blindfolded I would not be able to tell the difference. All you are missing is less capacity in my opinion. The old and the new are equally great.

I am having problems with the reborns. I know they look the same except for the capacity. But I am on my 4 out of the box, trying to get one to work like the prior ones. I took one apart before I filled it and noticed the wick was halfway thru the coil, unusable. The other 2 would not feed without squeezing the tube to get the bubbles. I'm not sure why they are acting this way, something else on these has to be different, maybe the well below the coil is bigger, I don't know, but I'm disappointed . The 4th one seems a lot better, but I'm only getting an air bubble from one opening, the prior model I would see bubbles from both openings. Seems like its only feeding from one side which causes less of a TH and less flavor. Maybe I just received a bad batch!
