I got 808s BCs even though I ordered 510s BCs. The box is labeled 808 so it was a packing mistake. This order is the 1st one that I received that didn't have the correct items since my 1st order placed over a year ago so I am not mad but I am not happy that these new BC Phxs only hold about 1 ml. They increased the base length but did not increase the length of the plastic tube. Since I was able to find my 808-510 adapter I was able to try one and the new ones seem to perform better than the "old" ones.

What exactly do you like about them over the old school one's? Better TH, Flavor, Vapor...I'm really interested to know.....

Sitting down, facing forward.
Maybe it's me. I use the 808 style and they sure don't hold 1.5ml unless every syringe I own is mis-marked. I just filled one this morning and it took just about 1ml to fill it up. If the new ones are less than 1ml it kind of reduces their usefulness, to me, unless there is some other vast improvement in either vapor production or longevity.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

My old style XL bottom coils hold 1.3-1.4ml. Close enough to 1.5 to me.

I've heard the "reborn" version hold much less than that though.
If they do hold less than the origionals then they should increase the length to compensate. I hope that's done in a future release.

If you cut a 3ml syring tube (which have the exact same ID as a factory phoenix tube) and swap the center breather tube from an older model, you will have the best of both worlds...

Or increase the diameter or both. Neither option is particularly good but neither is 1mL. Can't win. I just hope their new and improved coil cavity is actually new and improved. I know increasing the diameter wrecks the 510/808 battery integrity. But increasing diameter quickly increases capacity so it wouldn't take much. Maybe they can offer two configs...one for the 510 bat folks and one for everyone else. What do I know? My opinion doesn't mean crap anyway.

I like the mod, but part of the appeal of the PBC is being able to rip it out of the pack and start vaping away. I haven't got the new PBC's yet so I guess I cannot comment on whether I like it more or not. Might be some pluses and some minuses. Six of one, half dozen of the other I guess.

Having a larger diameter would also limit the use of cones on eGo style batteries uless you start modding the cones.

I guess I'm just indifferent at this point. I've done surgery on these little gems a number of times and even rebuilt the heads. I will say, I do understand their desire to increase the amount of room in that head cavity. It is very small. I've already torched two coils (from the factory). The rebuilt ones are only so so because I think the coils are resting against that ceramic cup and robbing the heat from the outer wraps. I have some more playing around to do but thought I'd wait to get the new ones to do it again. I mean, rebuilding the coil on a $2.25 clearo is kind of a joke but I just did it because I could. No other reason.

True. Perhaps just come out with another model for non-510 folks. I'm thinking most 510 bat users probably don't mind a smaller clearo anyway. I mean, they're changing bats every two hours to begin with. What's a little more inconvenience? Plus a 1mL clearo still has to be an advantage over a carto.

Before I use a new BC Phx I always clean it and then dry burn it before filling with juice. When I don't do that the flavor tasted a bit off kinda had a slight chemical taste. The new PHx I started using last night I didn't clean at all. Just removed tube and primed it and then put it back together. I didn't taste the slight chemical/off taste. The flavor was great from the 1st vape. When I took it apart I noticed the coil was not pressed down and was correctly done. See image below:

My only complaint is the juice capacity is now only 1 ml which is not suprising since they increased the base length but did not use a longer plastic tube.

Yes, even at 1ml if it vapes well and hold up I'll be happy with it.
As it stands I keep several in my pocket to change flavors and 1.5ml won't get me through a day by a long shot, so if I have to tote around one more it's no biggie.

If you watch the 100's of YouTube vids out their on building the coils, regardless the type of tank system, you always see them giving a small gap between each turn of the coil.

This results in all the windings glowing red pretty fast, if spaced evenly. But if you notice on the Phoenix and Vivi's, the coil is very compact and touching one another. When I dry burn and watch them, it does take a tad bit longer to get glowing. You would think given that, they wouldn't vape very well, but they do...Go figure?

I dont re-wick and coil anymore more as my eyesight and sausages don't seem to play together well anymore.
Like Broze said, Not worth the hassle anymore...IMO..

I just use one of those stubby cones that wouldn't be a factor. I never used one of those eGO cones. Do those make the vape any warmer or are they strictly for looks?
I use a wide bore eGo cone with my Phoenix XL's. This allows some better airflow than a standard cone and also gives it some support for carying around in your pocket. It also helps with the looks.
