Oh my. Maybe a better option would be to get the authorities involved. Poor little guy, he must have been traumatized :(

the law will do nothing its a big county and the sheriff will do nothing until i kill the dog, then they will give me a hard time over it.

maybe lock me up,maybe.

Well, before you end up in the slammer you should check and see if they allow vaping.

But on a serious note, please try and find a less lethal solution -- rubber bullets, pepper spray, etc. I am disturbed to read about someone planning the murder of a dog, even if is a hated one. :glare:

I don't know how the law is in Mo. In Nevada a dog harassing livestock or chewing on your pets could be rightfully shot but of course no one really wants to do that. I think the pepper spray idea is a good one!!!!! One good shot of bear spray and that German shepherd won't be back.

That is one big kitty. Penney Poo Poo only weighs 25 punds so the cat is just about as big as my Corgi.

the thing is,by the time i get close enough, the shepherd will kill little pete and i will never forgive myself.

the woman ,whose husband owns the mutt was over here to nite to borrow my battery charger and some starting fluid,i talked to her about the shepherd, she said she would not blame me if i have to put him down,i told her,if her husband would only listen to me,i would not have to do it.

he's an old drunk an can get pretty cocky,i told her the mutt was over here last nite taking a dump by my porch steps and i yelled at him and run him off,i could have kill him,i was only 5 ft. from him,,i really got to be mad or upset to kill him,,,it may happen sooner or later.

maybe when i go to town and do my monthly shopping i'll look for the pepper spray or some thing like it.

Larry

i think i'll shut up about this,
i have already hung out to much of my laundry already.

A good can of spray has a 25 ft reach. I've never seen a domestic animal take a dose of it and return to repeat the behavior any time soon. I'd hate for your little guy to be mauled, and I hate to see any animal put down like that because it's owners are irresponsible. I'd also hate to see you either end up in front of the Judge (or worse, in a fight with the drunken jerk).

Figure it is safe to post an update here about Maggy without upsetting anyone over in Chit Chat. :p

I have spent $415 on vet bills and prescriptions this past week. X-rays show no problems other than arthritis in her lower spine which has probably been bothering her lately. Blood tests were good in all areas except for kidney function :( which is pretty common for cats her age (16).
So now she'll be on a prescription food for cats with renal disease. It may slow the progression to where we might have another few years together (best case), or we may only have a few months (worse case).

I bought a new toy with cap nip in it and she's loving it. :)

Star, it's not much comfort, I know, but never forget that you've done the best you could by Maggie.
You two continue to take comfort from each other.
Unfortunately, since you're the human, you get to do all the worrying and grieving, and I hope however long the rest of your story is, all is well while it lasts.
Just remember, you're the "good guy".
