Do not think I had tried that one, will give it a try...

I like the fact that it tastes good, is reasonably priced, and I can buy it in quantity. I just compared it to Tribeca (my classic RY4 of choice). The caramel/vanilla are very similiar. I like the tobacco of Mr vape better.

Yes, I would say an A- is a fair grade. It is not easy to climb to the peak of your list.

I'll have to try that MrVape as well, I like the caramel in Tribeca a lot. I've been trying to find something with that caramel for a cheaper price. I've done some DIY with TFA RY4 Type Double and it is close, but the caramel isn't exactly on point. I tried FW and TFA Caramel Candy with it and that wasn't it either. Going to try LA and TFA Regular caramel next.

I'm not even sure if it's possible to get that Halo caramel flavor with DIY though. As I read earlier in this thread, some companies use a bunch of different things to create the caramel flavor in the users mind.

A quick question on RY4 Double, what percentage do you prefer?

I want to mix some up this weekend, but to save some trial and error I thought I would ask the experts.

For me, it is a flavor that can easily be overpowered by other flavors. I like around 12-14% RY4 Double, 6-7% Caramel and Vanilla, and 1% EM. It must also steep at least a couple days before it is ready to be vaped. It really is a lot like Tribeca, but like I said before, I still haven't found the right caramel for it. If anyone knows if there is a Tribeca like caramel in the DIY world, I'd like to know which one it is. It's a great DIY RY4!

Experts, ha! I have moments where I can barely remember who I am. Half an hour after a meal, I nod off on the couch.

I have no fixed percentage mix for RY4 Double. 10-15-20%. Each produces a different juice.

Time for some trial and error.

Yesterday I prepared the 15 bubble mailers that will be mailed next week, and today I mixed up the NET and flavorings for the second batch of Skydancer RY4, enough to make 200mls of finished juice. (The first batch made 120mls.) All 15 10ml bottles are now made. Five at 6mg, three at 12mg, three at 18mg, and four at 24mg.

This second (and final) batch is Version 11. It is quite different from the first batch, which was Version 2b. The flavorings are all from Nature's Flavors Organics, the liquid is much lighter than v2b---v11 is a medium-gold transparency---and the flavor profile is substantially changed, although both versions stay strictly within the trinity of essential RY4 core flavoring components---tobacco, caramel, and vanilla. Version 2b was extremely rich. Version 11 is somewhat leaner, although quite creamy. The flavors are softer, as is the overall impact of the juice.

Ingredient cost for each 10ml bottle was a mere 98¢, but when other costs are factored in---bottles, labels, bubble wrap and mailers, plus postage---my final cost for each 10ml bottle will be $3.73. Not everyone sent me the postage costs I requested for the first batch, and I assume that will happen again with the second batch. With luck, however, I'll recoup most of my material costs.

I intend to pre-steep these bottles for at least four days before mailing the packages. My beta-test bottles seemed to take about four days to mature. I'll leave the caps off the 15 bottles tonight, since Nature's Flavors Organics contain ethyl alcohol, and that needs to evaporate. Then, another three days with caps on to allow the flavors to bloom. With the extra couple days of shipping time, the juice should be good to go when it arrives. Organic flavorings tend to have shorter half-lives than synthetic flavorings. Over time, organics degrade and lose flavor rather sooner than later, so Skydancer RY4 v11 should probably be considered like Beaujolais---best vaped fresh.

One these packages arrive late next week or the early the week after, that will be the end of the Skydancer RY4 limited production run. I hope the juice is tasty and enjoyable.

Great! Can't wait to try v11... Is V2b extinct? How did you like it compared to your favorite vendor bought RY4s Bill?

I have a 30ml bottle of Skydancer RY4 v2b @ 24mg. That should last forever. Were v2b a retail NET-based RY4, I would have given it a B+. If it runs out, the recipe is safely filed away, so I could replicate it if necessary.

I still have about 70ml of Skydancer NET (the actual extract) left, which is enough to make another 500mls of diy juice. I've also got about five different Skydancer blends besides the RY4s. Two of those---Skydancer Coffee and Skydancer V4---are yummy. Skydancer V4 is made up of four failed experiments that miraculously worked beautifully when combined. I can't replicate V4, because I have no idea what's in it. The other three blends are OK, but not nearly as good as Coffee and V4, so I'll end up either giving them away or pouring them down the drain.

I made enough of the flavorings mix of RY4 v11 (meaning just extract and flavorings, without nic or PG/VG base) to whip up another 60mls. Over the past ten days, I've vaped a lot of v6 through v12 (which are all very similar recipes, just tweaked differently). I probably won't need to make any more. I'll just dump what remains of the seven 6ml beta-test bottles into one 30ml bottle, and that alone should last me til the cows come home.

I was surprised and impressed by v2b, but I actually like v11 better. It's more down-home, and a good candidate for an all-day vape (which v2b isn't, at least not for me, since it's so rich). v11 is pleasing rather than impressive.

I've followed this thread since last October-November, it's been very interesting, informative and entertaining. RY4 isn't my favorite, but everyone's passion intrigued me enough to try a few (Altcig, Revolution Vapor, Want2Vape, Dekang & Health Cabin) and enjoyed the majority of them.

One RY4 I really enjoyed was from Revolution Vapor, not sweet and the flavors were well blended. No single flavor stood above the others and it displayed a noticeable amount of sourness on the exhale without being over-bearing. This novice would give it a B-, I found it much more palatable than the AltCig RY4. Off-Topic, I think the Revolution Vapor Red Rum was outstanding.

The biggest discovery while following, was my passion for NET based juices blended with other flavors, not always Carmel & Vanilla, and trying many of the different Vendors you guys write/talk about on this thread.

I've also dabbled in DIY liquids for the single flavored juices I vape daily.

Thanks for the enlightenment :vapor: :pop:

MFT,

Very nice of you to check in and say hello. And thanks for the compliments.

Although I've reviewed an RY4 from a vendor called VapeRevolution, I'd never heard of RevolutionVapor. That's not surprising, since from the get-go of my vaping 2 1/2 years ago, I leaped right over all the vendors who sell mini-cigs and cartridges. My very first ecig was a Riva eGo kit from Liberty-Flights, and within days after that I was off to the races buying mods. But then, I should keep in mind that many vendors serve the potentially huge market of people who are hoping to quit smoking and want an ecig that "looks like a cigarette." LOL.

When I started this thread back in June 2011, I liked RY4, obviously, but I never considered it the end-all, be-all juice. Not then, not now. I'd already tried ten or so different RY4s and thought it would be fun to do a composite review of a whole bunch of RY4s in one post. So, I ordered a bunch more and kicked off the thread by reviewing 26 RY4s. I figured the thread would quickly vanish to the back pages of the Juice Review forum. Silly me. Now The Big RY4 List has more than 120 RY4s with reviews and vendor links. I don't know how many more RY4s are available in the marketplace, but I'd guess that it's at least 50 and perhaps 100. I suppose I could find, buy, and review a sizable number of those if I had sufficient money and gumption, but alas, I've run out of the former (at least in terms of disposable income) and the latter is on the wane after 120 reviews.

I will, however, add Revolution Vapor RY4 to The Big List and link to your post as the review.

I hold three main hopes for this thread: 1. that it provide reasonably dependable information, 2. that it offers people a user-friendly clearinghouse for finding an RY4 they might like, and 3. that it continues to entertain.

Enlightenment? That's a little out of my league, but what the heck---if the Buddha could achieve Enlightenment by sitting under a bodhi tree, I suppose anything's possible. LOL.

I started with the mini 808D-1 from SI, a month later it was their XL Battery followed by a quick jump to Tube than Box Mods.

Here's the Revolution Vapor RY4 link; RY-4 | Revolution Vapor

My RY4 passion statement was more about the quest of rating the various offerings, not as it being The One & Only Vape. No other juice has an exhaustive thread dedicated to compiling/archiving reviews, ratings and the evolution/history of an e-liquid, a great reference for new and veteran vapors alike.

More than information or entertainment, this thread pushed me to expand my vaping experience. When I started vaping to quit Analogs I tended to avoid tobacco type liquids, the exception was 555, I enjoyed the nutty (almost Tobacco) flavor.

Coffee & Fruits made up ~95% of my liquids, after reading through this thread I bought a few RY4s and various other Tobaccos. I found I enjoyed NETs the most and now ~98% of my liquids are NETs, I still enjoy Fruits & Coffee( I love Coffee more than Analogs), but now I DIY those liquids. That's how I was enlightened by this thread, without it I doubt I would have ventured very far from the liquids I was comfortable using, or trying my hand at DIY juices.:toast:

Okee-dokee, I'm back from the post office, and all the packages of Skydancer NET RY4 v11 are now winging their way to their respective recipients.

Voluntary compensation/contributions/donations/whatever can be sent via you-know-what to <bill@billherbst.com>.

I wasn't entirely confident that people would like version 2b, so I was pleasantly surprised at the positive reaction. This time, however, I feel sure that most people will like version 11. I hope that's not a Murphy's Law reverse whammy. I've been enjoying v11 for four days now. It's the most RY4 I've vaped in more than a year.

Whats funny is I have to try to log into these websites to make sure I have not tried their RY4 yet, so I was not able to get into this one.....
