The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
No, it's not the snow on the dish itself, it's the snow in the air that's screwing things up.
Really heavy stuff. The electricity blinked out about 10 minutes ago. Tree probably hit the lines somewhere. Sure makes you feel secure when you have wood heat.:)
Yep I have 2 fireplaces going to put a wood stove downstairs but have to put a flue liner in first.$ 2200 for it and a used stove. So not this year.

Yeah, they really rake you over the coals(hee, hee)for a wood stove installation, don't they? We just have a real small house, so the wood stove does fine for us. I don't think the furnace has kicked on once this winter so far. It's been a real mild winter. I plowed snow for the first time today and had to be careful not to scalp the driveway too bad because there is no frost in the gound.

I'm contemplating doing it myself. But not sure  I hear its easy but would like to see it done first

I think it probably is easy but you need to be sure its certified or you run into insurance hassles.

I did a wood stove and flue instal a few years ago and got it certified but never done a flue liner before. Never really even seen one. I can figure most anything out but like to see what I'm working with first

lol, Karen started this whole parsnip thing when she talked about mashed parsnips.I never would have dreamed I'd eat them in any way, shape or form, lol.

I did start it!!! I have bought them every week for three weeks now. Cut in small pieces, cubed they are great sauteed with onions. I baked one yesterday (microwaved) like you would a potato. I had bought a larger one and just cut the large part off about the size of a medium potato. It tasted very similar to a baked sweet potato. Also peeled and boiled about four of them yesterday. Cut them into medium sized pieces and they only took about 10 minutes to cook. Now I can either mash them, or eat them as they are. They have replaced my potatoes as a much better veggie.
