What befuddles me is the amount of people that know about it and haven't even bothered to try it. :?:

REALLY!!!!! I didn't hear about ecigs till summer 2010. I couldn't order a couple of kits fast enough!!!!! I got the "rip off" sets but it lead me to finding ECF, and shortly after REOs, after dripping for a couple of months with eGos. I found ECF soon enough to be able to return DH's set for refund. Had to pay for mine but when I ordered some refills and then cancelled the order they refunded the kit cost, too. Lucked out. The kit kept me mostly off analogs for a few weeks, though. Not totally but enough to kick me into finding something better once I knew I could "survive" without stinkies.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

We were spending close to $1K a month for analogs for two of us. Although I was getting ready to roll our own, as I had done in past, and found a place to get loose organic American Spirit tobacco, and we were both wishing we could really quit analogs, the money savings was a huge factor. DH did pick up a pack of analogs, here and there for a year, but they were close to $10 a pack. He hasn't had an analog in over six months and no longer feels the desire to have one. It took him well over a year but one day it just happened. After four months of vaping, and after we got our first REOs, I was finished with any analogs.

BTW... he stopped asking what I was spending about a year ago.

In the 70's here today. Just got home from town and immediately traded the long sleeves for a tank top. Flip flops all day. Doors and windows open.

Loving the Flatlander's lifestyle:laugh:

"Flatlander's lifestyle", as defined by Webster's dictionary, "A lifestyle in which the unfortunate individual is condemned to an existence of boredom, sameness, the delusion that a small animal with a leg at each corner sporting a psychedelic haircut is actually a real dog and the self-esteem limiting knowledge that the individual shall be forever doomed to be looked down upon by those who live on high." (That's 'live on high'... not, 'live on A high.' There's a difference, look it up.)

Apparently this definition was inadvertently left out of some Webster editions.

I was in on a conversation started by co-workers. They were talking about e-cigs being out and how great they were supposed to be. They knew nothing except what they had read or seen.

It was a few months later that I started searching online for what was available.

The little seeds we plant when we show and tell people can lead to a e-cig purchase later. We all know you have to be ready and want to quit smoking. It must be a personal decision to take that first step and just try.

I find it hard to tell people about all that is needed for that first purchase. Usually point them towards a kit just for starters. It is much easier to get a package and be able to vape right away. That is what I did!

I'm one of those who had no intention of quitting. I got it for a visit to my daughter's. She and SIL hated the smell and I got tired of the oh stinky thing.
I was there three weeks and the first one, I knew I was a bit of bear but it made me see that vaping would work. Back in 2009, one had to be determined too to stick with it. It would have been easier with the stuff out there today.

BTW... I've certainly spent a lot of money on vaping and REOs but it certainly hasn't been close to the $25+K we would have burned up if we had kept smoking as we were doing. That is if we could have afforded to spend that which we haven't be able to do for some time now. And most of each analog went up in smoke. It was really hard not to have one going most of the time even if I wasn't dragging on it.

If I've told you once, I've told you a million times... DON'T EXAGGERATE!

(Why didn't you spend the extra $2 and get the rest of the dog?)

My own brother vaped for almost a year after i gave him an eGo set-up, then he was making the excuse that they didn't work in the winter outside, on the fishing boat, etc.

Then he was back to smoking full time, even more than before..and he;s still smoking. I guess, hard to believe as it is, some people will never "take" to vaping.

Jen has that challenge every single day with her Mom and Sister living close by and her Mom is a nurse. You can only do so much. I'm hoping that Jen is still keeping her knowledge that she can only do so much. It can be really frustrating. But you can only do so much.

why dont you come here and tell them that

Call me and I'll bring "tiny" Moe Labradoodle. He can be fierce and he's half Poodle. BTW.... Poodles have really sharp teeth. I knew a Vet who had the last joint of his finger amputated by a toy Poodle. Jake Mastiff mainly crushes/crunches bones (even if he's only in your lap) if he isn't in your lap but he'd rather love on you (and crush bones).

My first encounter was at the little country convenient store by my Mom's old house. The cashier was usually outside in the parking lot smoking when we got there. One morning she was at her register puffing away and I commented "Wow, they are letting you smoke in here now,..." Got my first e-cig shortly after. (Blu) We stopped by that store today and I was a little disappointed that she wasn't there.

Mom and Sis are never going to quit. Never going to drink water either. Coffee and nicotine is all that runs through their veins.
