Is there any way to permanently disable the on/off switch on a metal Mini?
These darn vaping gremlins turn it off after every other vape. :glare: Same gremlins that turn down my voltage wheel and tighten down my attys.

Good morning Jen!

Yes. You can push the little, tiny pin in and it won't catch and shut off. You can't undo it though.

Have a great Sunday!

You are all scaring me with the cockatiel warnings LOL. I was never allowed to have a bird as a kid. My Mom is afraid of them, she had her hair rollers attacked by a pet parrot.

My only saving grace is that Dave had one before I knew him. I think secretly he is the one who wants it ;) he gave me the sheep grin when I said that to him. I am glad this was all his idea. I know I will be the birds person already since I am home all day, I hope the bird thinks so too LOL.

Eileen has been telling us she wants a bird for months if not a yr. I told her that I would get her a couple of fish and if she took care of those we would consider a bird. So she has been faithfully feeding her guppies and reminding me we have to clean the tank. She is also reminding me regularly that she is taking care of her fish , so she must be able to get a bird soon LOL.

We have this customer who breeds finches and canaries. Dave asked him what would be a good bird for a 5 yr old. The guy said a cockatiel. So the guy went into the house and called some breeder he knows and said he found one that would be perfect for a younger child. This one he found is a male, 3 months old and lutino color. The breeder said it was a small bird , I guess they meant the runt of the flock. It had to be hand fed and is very friendly toward people, I hope they mean not just his person who took care of him.
The customer is going to Orlando next week and will pick it up for us. He also said he will get us a cage and the whole set up and the bird. Because he thinks Dave did a nice job on his pool and wants to give us a gift ;)

I have been reading about them a lot so I know what to do when I get it ( I hope) but it is nice to know there are people here that have had them. I would feel much more comfortable getting a sugar glider or a ferret. But I am sure this will be fun once I get use to it.

Good morning Jackie. As I said before I'd definitely get more if not for my dogs and cats. It's enuf to keep one cat away from the dogs he's a killer cat and likes to attack dogs  even my lab wolf has some fear of the cat  so long as the bird has lots of companionship whether from another bird or people it will be fine if they get lonely they go nuts in the head and don't seem to come out of it. I had one pass on me and the other went nuts so I got him another mate and well he never got out of his depression :) they are amazing birds though and a lot of fun

Good Morning Jackie!

My daughter got a cockatiel when she was around 8. By far the best bird I have had. It was very friendly and amusing to watch. It did learn parts of songs. The Andy Griffith whistle tune also. Smart little bird!
She had it till she was around 22.

Have an enjoyable day!

 I'm so happy for Ellen! I'm sure she's excited about getting out there!

I am happy for her too. She rented a really cute house on a pond. There are soft shell turtles and 3 alligators in it . So I do worry about that.

I will be even more happy when she gets her own car. She is borrowing mine 3 days a week to get back and forth to work. Her BF is suppose to be buying her one as soon as he gets his big fat check:lol: Somehow they think they will buy a house and reliable car with 36k. But ya know, they are all grown up so they can figure it out I guess.
