 Good point.

Fortunately some of the things are partially covered by the government, and some, Brad's insurance will cover some of. So it's not the end of the world bank-wise. Just some of the silliest things are more expensive than you'd think... 100% cotton knee socks. Who'd have thought they were so expensive?!

It took her a bit of getting used to because of the stairs, and the park out back has lots of jumping up and down spots, which she was totally not used to. She had to use some anti-arthritis meds at first, but she doesn't need them anymore, and runs around like a bananahead now. 12 years old and she doesn't act much different than when she was a baby - just a lot more grey hair. Hmm, sounds like someone I know very personally...

I bet that dry air has helped her joints a lot. Good for you both! I remember how worried you used to get over her.

Really? I wouldn't have thought that at all!

Yeah, it's crazy! It might just be the season, too, but I'm supposed to have thinnish 100% cotton socks, and I have to wear them all the time with the leg brace, so I need quite a pile. We found a place that sells them online finally for a bit cheaper by the bunch, but still. Like $100 for a bunch of socks! I guess I'm a cheapskate. ;)

She's still my baby, all right. =) She's getting a little lumpy in her old age but we've decided that unless her bumps are dangerous, we're just going to leave them alone so she doesn't have to spend time in a cone or anything - she's spent enough time doing that already in her life.

Ya...that makes sense. I bet she thanks you for that in her own way. I have to take the pups in tomorrow morning for more shots...not looking forward to that at all. Last time we had to use cones neither of them handled it well. Hopefully that won't be necessary for a long while.

We got this semi-see-through cone for Una that she works with a lot better than some, maybe ask the vet if you can get those? Lets her feel a bit more aware of her surroundings. =) Good luck with the pups!!

Nah....I understand. I'd have a hard time with that too. I get cranky enough as it is when I have to buy socks. $20 for 3 pair. *sigh* I know there are cheaper ones I could get, but they don't last long. I'm hard on clothing.

We have those...but it's so disorienting for them. I think the biggest problem is they are small, so they still expect to be able to get into the little nooks and crannies they like to frequent. But they keep "clotheslining" themselves with their cones. It would be comical if they weren't so miserable. (I have to turn away to giggle...they glare if they see me finding humor at their expense)

Heh yes, I know Una would give me many sad looks if I didn't hide it. She's a big clown now, but when she was little she seemed a lot more sensitive about it. How old are the puppies now? What kind? I think I missed their arrival...

Yeah, these socks better last a long time or GRRRRR! I'll start... writing mean letters! Or something! =D I have to wear shoes that are men's now, and 1.5 sizes bigger than my regular size to fit the brace I have ;_; Goodbye to all my beautiful boots! Boo hoo! =D

I think I'd still have to keep the boots and just put them on when I don't have to go anywhere. I've got a couple pair like that already.

I gave them to needy friends who will look fantastic in them. At least they have good homes now. ;) I made them promise to send me photos of them being worn so I have memories...

Well, I'm sure you knew of Zoomie....he's 4 now. And Jasmine is new to us...we picked her up from a bad environment about a year ago. She's probably 2, but we'll never know. Her previous owners mistreated her and lied to us about everything including her age and her ability to breed. We've got her all fixed up now, shots and all....and her fur has grown back and she's now a normal weight and has a shiney coat. We're still working on socialization, but she's way better than she was. The pics below are of Zoomie (he's white) and Jasmine (she's brown)

Nice touch. :) You're a bigger woman than I...I am not sure I could let my NativEarth boots go at all. Besides, they wouldn't fit anyone else.

This one just makes me laugh....back when they were still working out their personal space issues. They talk a lot!

Haha! That reminds me of when we got the kittens - there was a lot of staking out new space, too. =) I love those paws! And evil vicious teef! ;) hee hee!
