Thanks RocketRod- I guess my concern is how close this is to the magnet and if you look closely at my picture, there seems to be a hair line crack right above the electrical box...look above it to the left. I really need to spread it apart a bit in order to get the clue in there but afraid I would break other parts (the channel for the door) and drilling to much, I'm afraid the whole upper piece could just fall out. Anyway, I have lots of fears. I know you said, "unless I take it swimming," but juice already runs down into the crack and it seems like it's not really even one crack in that area but 2 cracks. I suppose a syringe to inject the glue would be a good idea. What do you think of this glue (the larger bottle of the same stuff, it has 5 stars): http://www.woodcraft.com/product/2005071/5759/titebond-iii-waterproof-glue-4oz.aspx

I would buy the other glue. Since the crack is really such a tight fit the thinner might get in there better. Right on the syringe. That would allow you to hit deeper in the crack.

With the waxing later it will give you a great finish to repel any juice. Mine just wipe off easy.

That looks like a perfect glue to use Dave! It says it is thin and that is good in such a tight space. I think with that and clamping you would really make that crack invisible!
Thanks but not sure if it's water proof- as it is now juice drips in that area. I'll await others opinions- maybe someone who has used this? RocketRod's opinion was to use the other glue but to drill and clamp but not sure if that other glue permeates into the wood like the one you endorsed, but I do know it's water proof. RocketRod was not so keen on the quick glue either... Hmmm.... I don't think I'll drill but need a way to get glue in the crack...a thin syringe is what I'm thinking with either glue I use and also clamping.

Just re-read what you wrote Karen- think I'm going to do the thin glue method and then use the wax. Not so much concerned about the "looks" of it- as the door covers it, but if it will stay together and if water is repelled from the crack. If that doesn't work and it comes apart again, then I'll go with the other glue as RocketRod mentioned. Thanks a bunch for your input!!!

Okay, found same products with a different vendor (smaller glue bottle as I don't need much) and shipping was cheaper, so I ordered the wax and glue from here! Woodworking Tools | Wood Working Supplies
Sounds like you done good Dave! Just wait till you wax that wood! Remember to soak it inside too! It will really be thirsty for that wax!

Although I've never had to fix a crack in a wood box mod I have fixed many, many rifle and pistil stocks and by far the best adhesive for wood I've ever used is AcraGlas. It's been used for decades and decades for wood repair and is the bench mark in wood related gun repairs.

You can buy it at just about any fully stocked gun shop or hundreds of places on-line or if you have a local gun shop in your area with an on site gun smith he'd probably put a few drops in that crack fairly cheaply.

Unless you run over it it'll never come apart, the joint will be stronger than the original wood,

Ahhhhhhhh Chhhhooooooooo! I'm still sick. This sucks.

Oh, good morning Reonuts.

Thanks Jack- the purchases has been made...we'll try this and if it comes apart, I may PM you later on (probably a few weeks I'll know) for the info on the adhesive. Much appreciated!!

Okay, for all you folks that are winding, (or going to wind), your own coils/wicks but can't see the big 'E' on an eye chart I got some vape mail, (not really vape mail but that's what I got it for), that is working out much better than I expected and a whole hell of a lot cheaper than I would have imagined.

In TV land that's called the tease, (we'll be right back with that exciting story right after these boring commercials). As soon as I consume 55 gallons of coffee and a quart of DayQuill I'll explain what it is and post some bad pictures. I know this comes as a complete surprise to Pietro but my talents are limited and photography is not one of them. (Well... I do have some interesting home movies,)

Perhaps he flinches because you named him, OSCAR.

He'd probably have more confidence and self-esteem if you didn't let him read the forum over your shoulder... your avatar is of a CAT!

I can't believe I'm home on a Saturday night, I must be really, really sick.

Jack

NOW you have my complete and sincere sympathy!

Tell him to chill out, he'll get it as soon as the customs people quit fondling it. Look at how calm and patient I was. (They fondled my Koa longer 'cause it's better looking than the one he's getting.)

I think it only took about 4 or 5 days longer than if it had been mailed in the States, certainly wasn't a time frame that was unreasonable.
