Morning Dave!
The surface on the ground in Vegas stays extremely hot through the night in the summer. I worked at a gas station/convenience store and had to go out between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. to restock and sweep. The heat would reflect up on my legs like I was in full sun!

That it does, Miss K! I always feel at home in Vegas because of it, it's almost like being in Phoenix again!

It was weird how the temp would drop at night a few miles from the downtown area. I would drive with windows down and could feel the cooler air about 10 degrees cooler! That cement sure held the heat in the heart of the city!

The heat-holding properties of asphalt is one of the reasons why weather in Phoenix is so wonky. There are so many roads (and we're laid out in a grid) that soak up the sun's rays that it creates a column of heat that weather patterns go around instead of through. Vegas is much the same!

Good morning, REOvil!

That pie looks delicious, and easy to make, Dave.

Keeping Thanksgiving small this year, just my Mom, Sister and me. I'm making the turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce & pumpkin pie. Sister is making fruit salad, sweet potaotes & something green. (I vote brussel sprouts, but I think she wants green bean casserole)

Have a great day REOkin...I'm off to the market!
