The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Holy cow, ....did it rain there like it did here? at one point, Lakeway was under nearly a foot of water just a few blocks from our street. I'm nearly pulled up some christmas stuff today. But decided to hold off for the Sunday.

Yep ...... down most of theday so when I got home figured I was already wet so might as well do the lights :lol: Did you get the winds last night too ?

Sure did...kept me up to the wee hours of the morning. I only got a few hours of sleep last night. but the power didn't go out until later this afternoon.

Don't forget:

If you bought a frozen turkey it needs to be put in the refrigerator to thaw today! Guys are having a turkey breast and I put it in the fridge last night.

One year I did not remember in time. It was a 24lb and I had to do the thaw in the sink with water thing! It still had ice inside when I unwrapped it on Thursday morning!

I can sympathize Jack. My silver vein vv grand will be traveling home over the holidays. At least it has my vv woodvil for company. I expect to see them interviewed on the news laid up somewhere at an airport along with some other poor schmucks who have had their flight cancelled/delayed like we see every year. Luckily the woodie's tears won't damage the finish since Rob put a nice new tung oil finish on it.

It is a sad, sad day at the Lazy G Ranch. Being older than the Red Wood Forest I very much look forward to the holidays with family and loved ones gathered around... all wishing for a early inheritance.

This year the old homestead will be minus one of my most beloved babies and I am distraught beyond description or human comprehension. It was only a short time ago that she was gently placed in that padded container, the lid closed and sent on her journey to the other side. Words of farewell were spoken whilst tears of endearment rolled down quivering cheeks.

And the question that many will eventually ask themselves rang hollow in the knowledge that it, as many things are, was asked over and over;

WHY OH WHY DID THE BUTTON ON MY VVG HAVE TO DIE RIGHT BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS!!!

The anguish will be interminable as she makes her way to the other side... the dreaded flatlands.

Go peacefully my sweet, be brave in the face of the unknown and always know that daddy loves you.

Alas, it will be a hollow Thanksgiving... except for vaping on all my other mods, football, food, scotch and ladies... did I mention food?

Mine's probably almost thawed. Put it in the fridge Sunday. Trying to decide to brine or not to brine.

Just talked to my Dad and he is recovering better and faster that anyone anticipated.
I am grinning from ear to ear.

I vote for brine. We've brined our bird for the last 5 or 6 years, and it makes SUCH a difference. Me, I'll never go back.

Just think of the joy you will have when they return! I just got both of my VV's back from Rob and have caught myself double fisted vaping a few times!
