My chiropractor has plenty to say about vaccinations. I skip flu vaccines because I either like to play it safe or take my chances. Who am I kidding? I'm too lazy to go get one.

DH used to bring the vaccinations home but hasn't had same access as before. For two years I "played it dangerously" until I got the really bad influenza that kept me near comatose for a week. I got one early this year to get DH off my back about it. He just got his, at Savon (Albertson's Grocery Pharmarcy - we had fun visiting with Pharmacists and he showed us some new type syringes that we played with - and we discussed "manly salmon"), last week. They asked him if he wanted the "super one" recommended for elderly or "regular." He chose "super." It seems that many elderly people have some minor flu-like symptoms, for a couple of days after, but he didn't have any. He's had influenza maybe three times since we've been married. This man doesn't even get headaches!!!!!

I have very different opinions of all vaccinations and in the use of anti-bacterial products.

I realize I started this discussion with my post mentioning the connection between the flu shot and my BIL and his illness.

It is good for people to study and not be blind followers of others. It doesn't matter how much a person is admired and liked. Take their words and research for yourself.

Alice you have let us all know your views. Nothing wrong with that. Lisa also stated some of hers.

I will just say to the rest, research. Sometimes the medical field and it's paid employees are following a path that is not for our well being.

You might surprise yourself if you really look for answers.

Lisa and Wayne, the most fragile and in pain I've ever seen DH was after he had dental bone grafting. He actually had to take off work because it was unsafe for patients because of the pain meds he had to take. Every once in a while I get on him to use the Waterpic flosser but he hasn't had any problems in 15 years. He does see dentist twice a year and always brushes at least twice a day. He doesn't floss, either. But the moment he feels something "funny" in his mouth he takes a course of antibiotics. That he rarely touches anything with sugar or much citric acid containing beverages probably helps a whole lot, too.

DH is having a regular colonoscopy next week. His biggest complaint will be that he'll be up all night visiting the pottie. For sure, after, he'll want to go to Papadauex's or The Oasis as a reward for being such a good and "brave" boy. The Oasis has the best oysters. (We have learned to wear adult diapers when taking the prep meds!!!!!) First one he had, was before they perfected the light anesthesia. He was a hoot after the procedure. Now days, if anesthesia is done properly for your personal system, there isn't any goofy after. I miss that for him and me.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Gotta get to work......

It's been cloudy & drizzling all morning, but I just walked the yard and was surprised to find a lily blooming. Cut a bunch of roses too. I guess I never paid attention to how long into the year plants bloom. Kind of digging this non-apartment life.

Gotta run but I do want to say that all the overuse of antibiotics (and antibiotic resistant bacteria that come along) and other things and so many hormones, antibiotics, and other crap in our environments and food is really scary to me. It's not so much how the antibiotics in so many things affect an individual but how the resistant bacteria affect everyone's ability to survive. I think DH's personal use of antibiotics seems excessive to me is because I rarely have ever needed them. He does for what he uses them for.

Then we can look closely at all the plants that are becoming resistant to herbicides. By-products of herbicides wreak havoc in many living creatures. Very few human milk samples, around the world, have "acceptable" low levels of herbicides.

I'm most concerned about children.

As my fellow "digging in the dirt REOnaut", I thought you would like the flowers...and the REO of course. Thanks, Kay! :)

What really impressed me with this photo was the composition... tho the beautiful flowers were in the front they weren't dead center and the gorgeous Reo a little behind and a little higher and on a clear glass stand, with the strong reflection of the flowers...it showed off the incredible beauty of the Reo.

You take photos like a professional would, Della:wub:

I like to dig in the dirt, especially sorta squatting cuz then when I have to " throw myself in the dirt", which is often, I don't have so far to fall:)

:lol:I know how that goes!

I'm actually trying limit my throwing self into dirt episodes. Found out my one and only neighbor, watches me with binoculars:mad:
He asked my Mom how I carved my pumpkin for Halloween, which I had in my front yard, too far for him to see. My Mom asked him how he saw it and he straight out told her, "With my binoculars."
Creep.

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Good afternoon everyone. Keep trying to sleep but Gatlin keeps waking me. This getting up at 4 am isn't as easy as I thot it was going to be  Flu vaccinations you can have them. I've had 7 of them and 7 times ended up comatose laying in a pile of my feces and vomit for several days before family rescued me to the hospital. Totally comatose. Then in the hospital for a week or so each time. Sucks the hind teat it does so no more for me.
So Alice I got DW a Roomba 770. It is freaking amazing. The house was relatively clean I swept and mopped 2 days ago and the thing had to be cleaned 2ce on its first full run of the house. Well floors are clean now  even under the bed and I didn't have to move it :D

Running off to finish cooking dinner and then The Voice. Have a great evening everyone!

Roasted pork loin and steamed carrots- Me
Potato Salad- Mom
Jello no-bake Cheesecake- Sister

I was going to do lean pork, in oven, tonight, and grated raw cabbage (last night I put about a tablespoon of cole slaw dressing on grated cabbage and DH thought it had too much dressing!!!! - we usually put prepared takeout slaw in strainer and rinse it to get most of dressing out) (I have a Kit-Kat stashed away for late night snack after DH goes to sleep) but DH just called and said he was stopping by Central Market, and was picking up some raw chopped mixed veggie salad and prepared lean meat, probably fish, a few cooked/shelled shrimp, and some other wonderments. Gotta love gourmet partner!!!!! If my sisters and nieces were close by we would all probably be obese!!!!

Enjoy wonderful dinner and fabulous company.................. (I want Jen, her mother, and sister to adopt me.)

Hugs, Alice

So glad she got her present early!!! I still watch them in amazement.

Even though people are OCD about housecleaning virtually all are amazed at how much crap the Roombas pick up!!!! (and they aren't even "real" vacuums".) I find it hard to envision how to "survive" without my iRobot army!!! Main thing is to keep them well cleaned, which takes some time, but so worth it. If you ever have any issues PM me. I've been a Roomba "extreme user environment" "expert" for a decade.

How are the Bubs doing with it??

Hugs, Alice
