 So do I. and I didn't even need to check. We don't often get much around here, Jack. Perhaps a foot or two. Sometimes I miss the 10'-15' of snow up in the mountains when I lived up there long ago. But I only miss it a little. And I'm not fond of the trace amounts at all. I'm an all or nothing kind of gal....either snow or don't....don't futz around.

Goog morning Guys!

I did a tune up on my grand last night and learned the importance of Noalox. My Reo was having a tough time firing, so I cleaned my contacts with a q-tip and alcohol, then put a dab of Noalox on the the positive tab and.... it works perfectly again! I got so nervous that my Grand was broken I almost had a panic attack. I absolutely love this thing!

Rob, if you're reading this, I bought a Delron button cover that now slips too far down on the button to fire. It's my fault because I think I was pushing the button too hard when my Grand started acting up. Anything I can do to salvage my button cover, maybe put something between the button and cover to "shim" it?

My DH is a button masher. Several times he's handed me his Mini, or come home with it "not firing" and all times it was mashed too far down button cover. I've shown him how to push it back up but then he forgets that the problem has been the button cover mashed down. Hoping someone will offer suggestions for something to put in there. I don't want to fix it on permanently as it will be difficult to impossible to remove if the button needs to be replaced; rare but does happen. (I have two re-homed Mini that I've ordered rebuild kits for so they will get all new innards including button so I'll save their old buttons for spare. I've only melted one button from a shorted atty with my very first Grand, way back. The two re-homed are working but their firing pins have gotten "flabby" from most likely "button mashing.") Anyway, I thinking of something small and hard to go between button and cover. I have a bunch of tiny rare earth magnets, different sizes. One or two of those might be the ticket.

:( No internet OR fb? that's bad!

So glad you survived . We are so dependent on our Smartphones and so glad to have them when our electricity goes off too frequently. Usually not long enough to pull out the generator but long enough sometimes to need a back up battery to keep batteries from running down. During one storm, no electricity, we lost cell phone data and voice. No fun at all!!!!!!!!!!! 7", battery powered, flat screen TV kept us sane. Also Kindles. We, also, keep several wind up radios, but we don't get good a.m. signal, where the weather condition is usually reported real time, but they do offer some entertainment for however long there are broadcasting. We usually have to depend on the little TV for weather reporting.

That spot in your yard looks familiar.:) But last time it was populated with large wild critters. Enjoy the end of work (for a while). So glad you are taking some extended time off. Last night DH informed me that he will have two X four day offs in next two weeks. We are so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!

And all he wants for Christmas is having Christmas dinner (goose) on the totally cleared off dining room table. (Rest of room cleared preferred.) BTW.... it's been so long since I cooked wild fowl I had forgotten how much work it is to properly cook a goose. That's okay; nothing else going on all Christmas day except for quality kitchen time together. Sure wish DH liked Mimosas. We could get giggly together and make major fun mess juicing oranges all day. He hates bubbly anything; even prefers his Cokes to be flat. Easy to do with Soda Stream. Just don't fizz the water. Or leave an already opened can of Coke in the car overnight. YUCK!!

Here in No. Mi. we've had two snowfalls, but nothing to brag about. It rained cats n dogs the other day.

Personally, I don't care if it never snows...except on Christmas day...

That's the bummer about livng around here....it rarely ever snows on Christmas. In fact, I think it has been nearly 10 years since we've had a white christmas. I just wish the snow would hold off for another 4-5 days. Then it can give er hell.

One Christmas time, years ago, we had a major fog event a few days before Christmas. It dropped as we were on road to our destination. We lived in another area of the metroplex but my Mother and I needed to pick up something at a mall down this way that evening. It was about a 35 mile drive from where I was living. I had lived in this area prior so knew my way around pretty well but I-20, right by the mall, and funny or no close by exits, complicated navigating. We got lost and couldn't even see the mall from the road that goes right by it. We did turn it into an adventure, though, but left the family home for many hours worrying about us. No cell phones back then. Driving home was not as fun on dark interstate. (It goes around the outskirts of county so not much civilization and, of course, people were Christmas crazy driving and you couldn't see but a few yards ahead. Luckily not much traffic back then.)

We've had rare Christmas snows but most usually it's bright, sunny, and light jacket weather (50s-70s) or occasionally bright, sunny, and very cold (teens to 20's). Any kind of weather. Wish we could choose. This year I think we'll have 70's but snow would be nice. For past few days central heat at night and AC during day. Kind of like living in high desert. To be most comfortable down here one needs to perfect layers.

Not much snow here today a little up some of our hills but lotsa frost. So spent the morning salting the roads a welcome change :)

It's still snowing here. Not cold enough to stay long...but if we're getting snow now...(about an inch so far) and we're supposed to get another several inches tomorrow...it may really screw with my routes :glare:
