I have learned over the years to not complain too much if I am being detained and can't leave somewhere as early as I want. To many times I have seen an accident that just happened in those moments I was detained. Sometimes I wonder how much our actions change our lives.

Yeah, I used to not be able to stand getting behind someone pokey on the road. I finally began to realize I just needed to relax about it and go with it. Just God's way of keeping me off the wrong spot in the road at the wrong time. :)

Got a little story about Karma being a mother.

I don't know if you remember me telling you guys about my daughter, but she got hit by a taxi cab driver who fled the scene. (She's OK, wasn't seriously hurt). She got a picture of the license plate as he was driving away and gave it to the police. They told her that when they found him, she would have to come in and ID him out of a line up.

Fast forward a few days and the police call her and tell her to come to the station. She goes down expecting to ID the guy. They put her in a room and then come in to talk to her. They place a photo of a man on the table and ask her if she knows him. Well yes, she says. That's the guy that hit me.

Then they tell her that the guy was found later that evening, robbed and shot to death in his cab!!!! She of course is completely stunned. But not nearly as stunned as when they asked her where she was between such and such hours. Of course she immediately asks if she's a suspect and they say "Oh no, you're just a person of interest." Fortunately, she was at home with her roommates all night, one of whom is a police officer. They talked to him and verified it so she is no longer "of interest" to them.

Had the guy simply stayed put when he hit her and talked to the cops like he should have, he probably wouldn't have picked up the fare that killed him.

Wow....poetic justice served up by Karma.

hi lisa....thats what i'm trying to do ...take one step at a time...keeping busy to keep my mind off of tomorrows doctor visit...its pretty warm here in ny today...58 degrees and sunny...what a pleasant surprise

Keeping busy is the best thing for worries. The time passes by more quickly and you don't have to deal with the added depression of not feeling productive. (((Ray)))

It is often said you can change your destiny by missing a bus. Case in point.

If one believes in the concept of destiny rather than outcome forged by sequential acts, omissions and mere coincidence then wouldn't missing the bus be part of that destiny and therefor not change anything?

Is coincidence simply God's way of saying He's paying attention?

Need I point out that my mind is more than a little warped?

Some of these things we learn with age. I am not an old lady driver, but I am a bit more cautious and a tiny bit calmer!

If destiny is the end of the story, then can't we, with our actions, form the narrative that get's us to that same ending? In other words, you can take several routes to get from point A to point B.

Takes someone a lot smarter than me, (you can't swing a dead cat without hitting someone smarter than me), to answer that one... if there is an actual answer.

If destiny is a predetermined result it would seem that every action, or omission is also predetermined, although not necessarily conscious or deliberate route to that result.

Personally I'm not a fan or proponent of the destiny concept. To me it diminishes what I feel is a human's greatest gift... FREE WILL.

But, what do I know, maybe I'm destined to always be dumber than a bag of barber hair.

I have spent time contemplating the whole destiny concept. The way I live me life, I don't worry about it! I do what I wish, when I wish, when I am able. Leave me thinking I have free will and I am happy!
