Ok Alice. Official word the bases of all Era's and Hornet's are stainless and yes as you pointed out some of the tops are anodized aluminium.

Great photos of very nice looking fish and tanks. Actually by conversing with you it brings back a ton of stuff I use to know at one time. It all sounds very familiar but nut quite there yet, will need to reread a lot of the things again. Used to visit fishkeeping type forums and the like but nut so in a long time and ordered equipment from Big Al's, like eheim outside the tank filters, can't get this brand here. Use Aquaclears now, easier for me to do. I know the sister of a pet shop owner and she tells me how her bro goes to Thailand every year to see/order fish and I get a pretty decent discount when I shop there so I don't wander far. They very rarely have apistos or kribs so for those I need to search at other stores.
I'm getting a new puter which supposed to be delivered later today (2/26), so I'll post pics later. Can't do it now with this old warhorse. In fact using chrome, I'm stuck here at the ECF, can't go anywhere else and DW doesn't like me touching her brand new puter (2-3 mos old). Like I was gonna break it or sumthing.....geesh!!

hi becky, not sure i want the angler,lol. ive been nipped by a 14 inch dovii before. he caught my little finger with his little 1/8 inch canine and ripped it open pretty wide.
Yikes! We had an aquarium when I was a kid, and I remember my dad mentioning the dovii as one that does not get along well with tankmates...I guess not too well all the time with pinkies, either! Reading you and Nutz talk about this stuff has brought back some good memories, though. But my dad took care of it, so I'm not very familiar with the details you guys are discussing. Man Id love to get to a Vapemeet. Especially one of those huge VapeFest ones! I'd get one of every menthol in the joint then have a blast comparing all of them. Be nice to meet some Vape Folks also.
