Tucson is ok I've lived there as well but sorry but you just can't beat the BIG city:)

I can see where this is going

I must warn you, I am armed and ready. As I said, DH is from that terribly hot, overcrowded, traffic laden BIG dirty, city. He worships the devil, unlike me who prefers cats and a less hot, better managed, cleaner city tongue.gif

Val, thanks for all the detailed info., I appreciate it!

Jeni,I'm really glad that yours wasn't so invasive!

My Mom died from cancer when she was only in her late thirties, but of course back then, little was known about the treatment of cancer.
My poor Dad was left with seven kids to try to raise.

You are welcome. Sometimes it is just easier to quote then to explain.

Wow, your Dad had a lot on his plate. You came out very well, so something was done right!

Oh, Kay, I'm so sorry that you lost your mom so early. I just couldn't imagine... What a fantastic job your dad did raising you up, though. What a testament to him!!

When I became an adult I realized just what he had to go thru to keep us all together. My Mom was the sweetest person in the world and it was a huge loss for him, but he took care of us anyway.

Thanks Becky!

So what's the sibling run-down, Kay? Probably you all on this thread already know such things about each other, but I've yet to go WAY back and read up like I should. I've just got one sister, nearly 11 years older than I am (and WAY reminiscent of Jen's sis), so I've always envied folks with a bunch of siblings. I'd bet you bonded even more than you might have having to go through that together.

O.K.: seven kids, three sis's and four bros. I'm a twin of a bro. one older bro and sis, two younger bros. and a sis.And actually, we didn't bond! Don't know why, we just didn't, tho I think our mom was the glue that held us all together, our Dad was mostly away, he was in the Coast Guard and spent more time on the ship or the base. So there's no need to miss a large family! "Sides, I think we all inherited a very strong independent streak!

Aww...hahaha...I so feel for you. Look! See how far back I am??? Ya...it's going to take me a month of sundays just to get caught up in the forum (would you believe that there are 4 pages of new threads???) nevermind the lounge.:facepalm::facepalm:

Hi everyone! Sorry for my absence, but losing a computer really put us in a tough spot during a critical time. I've gotten through the build and my books go to print tomorrow morning and I'll have a little more time to interact over the next couple of days.

Sure hope I didn't miss anything too important. If there is anything that I need to address, be sure to PM me...because you KNOW it's gonna be a while before I'm up to speed.:facepalm:

did i mention this sucks??

Okay...would you believe it?
I finally caught up in the forum. 4 pages of threads is no small feat. Now I wonder how long it will take me to get caught up in here? Good grief  Oh well, off to best buy again...bought a new computer for Wayne yesterday and the mouse isn't working. Then come back home, finish setting him up, research some online backup systems for each of our needs and then I need to get together with the radio station and the newspaper to finalize contracts for an upcoming event. Distribution starts tomorrow. *sigh* Good times. Seriously...need to do something about winning the lottery. This simple living is for the birds.

Not that fierce twin bonding you always hear about?! Well, maybe that whole grass is always greener thing really is true, after all. I've got that same independent streak; that's why this temporary stay back at the 'rent house is driving me especially batty. Or, er, battier;). I'm on new meds for both the RA and the colitis, so hopefully it'll be back on my own soon. Adults are SOOO not meant to live with their parents:p!

(Edit: Hi to Lisa who popped up above me...and that IS one gorgeous trippy tip!)
