Good day Fine REO Folk. Hope everyone is high and dry and not swallowed up by sinkholes. The line that came through around 0500 that is reaching up all the way to Canada but causing much more havoc north of us dumped 1.5" in less than an hour. Electricity blinked a bunch of times but didn't go totally off. The winds were not unusually high for here so it was force of rain. So glad to have newest (couple years ago) whole house surge protector at main panel with lights external so I can see the condition. Last one was inside panel and no indicator lights. A lightning strike took out the main 220v water heater and whole control board on 220v Spa. Easier to protect 120v things using point of use protectors. Not as easy for 220v.

Puppy Chow.... my older sister lived in Seoul and then Hong Kong for many years. She had fairly large dogs; Airedales then Kerry Blues. Company paid for high priced housing, chauffeur, and live in maids. One day maid saw a local running away from house with one of the dogs. She chased him down, gave him a good beating, then hailed a cab. Cabbie refused to carry the dog. She pulled him out of cab and slammed him against it threatening his life. Dog and maid got free ride back. My sister loved that woman. My sister had a meeting with a high official as it was getting "epidemic" in the safer European gated neighborhoods. (The kids were safer there than in states traveling and playing large areas.) He informed her that her dogs were not in danger of being eaten rather local "mofia" ring stealing special breeds and selling them for high profits. He warned her to not "mess" with them and only thing she could do was up her security. Authorities had no interest in getting involved.

Stay safe, heal. Hold loved ones close in heart and mind.

Also had a Shih Tsu that was totally friendly to everyone cept for my DW's pastor. Barked at him amongst a bunch of folks, only later to find out he had dog too. But times were tough back then in Korea :(

Kay and Val. Thanks for the comments. I think I pretty much have my sales complete for awhile. Except for ingredients for a home made Bobba's recipe. Once I get that I should be good to go with the occasional order from Rob. Which I have NO concerns ordering from him. When I do order DIY supplies I think I will take your advice Kay and get a pre paid card to use. This has become a headache!
Good thing have a good solid marriage and Hubby knows I am "Old Faithful" so know he won't have concerns about that! LOL Just worried he will not want me ordering more vaping supplies!

Val, lotsa talk here recently that vaping gives cause to pneumonia. Hasn't bothered me any but curious how this got started. MD's seems responsible for this spreading more than anyone else.

Strange. From what I have read PG and VG are bacteriostatic as well as fungistatic "Propylene glycol is used in air sanitization and hard surface disinfection and dipropylene glycol is used in air sanitization. " http://www.epa.gov/oppsrrd1/REDs/propylene_glycol_red.pdf

Plus, there is the anecdotal safety of all those years of people using fog machines and I have never had any mass cases since the fine government hasn't banned them. Since there are other types of pneumonia than bacterial, viral or fungal, such as perhaps could be caused from vaping OILs, I am wondering what the people who are claiming that vaping was the culprit were vaping? I would be more inclined to think it was yet another thing to blame on vaping when one coincidentally gets pneumonia and the fine Dr. can't blame it on anything else.

I would need to hear what type of pneumonia and more on why a doctor would think vaping is a culprit.

Do you have any cases I could read?

A public shout out to Gary for some Bobas Bounty and a big bottle of his Bobas Bounty Clone DIY I just got in the mail! I can't taste the difference and I been vaping BB for years. So Im giving Gary the..........

Pardon me, but who is this Gary person and will he share his recipe? I barely remember what Boba's tastes like, but I'm always down for trying a new recipe.

There was a big blow up of this a while ago. I know AVE was affected so changed their processor, they responded very quickly in doing this. I know you like Boba's so.... in any case, they are safe now and you can tell DH that.
I read over on Reddit that AVE is still using Authorize.net - the processor they had before the big blowup - and have just changed the way they interface with them. Could very well still be a security weakness there.

I've also read that WizardLabs (imho the best place to get nicotine base these days) will not accept a prepaid card. Something about not being able to verify the shipping address with it. So... heads up.

You have to use both resistance and non-resistance wire when rebuilding Killer 705 RBA's. There are no posts with itty bitty holes to thread a wire through, (although there are 2 in the ceramic cup), so twisting wire together is usually no bid deal... RA just makes it a bit painful and troublesome. The hemostats should make it much easier, if not I'll use the silver crimping beads.

Jack

I am perfectly able to make my own twisted non-resistance/resistance wire coils and I am very handy and deleterious, and fairly young. But I have been doing the twisted wire thing with my Penelope from GG and just let me tell you....it sucks. I just found out today that the Killer also involves this insidious torture to vapers everywhere. I am not impressed.

I've seen some pretty knarled, swollen fingers from RA. Certainly makes doing many things impossible. There are plenty of common tools to help. Jack, I'll put on my list to bring you a r o a c h hemostat if 1) I can find the small ones and 2) We have any. I have a couple right here on my side table in heavy little pottery along with other little tools. BUT my main concern is that swollen fingers will even fit in digit openings of many sizes. I think a pair of tweezers with good sized rubber grips might be easier to use.

I want to add that I really don't understand all the fuss over putting a very few twists in tiny wires if one is capable of making coils AND getting tiny wires into tiny holes.:what: and tightening down tiny screws clamping down onto fragile tiny wires that break easily.

Same here! I had one, but I kept tweaking it to my own personal tastes so not even sure if it is close anymore!

My friend talked about a newspaper article but can't find it. Says his 2 co-workers were told the same from their doctor. But I just found this thread that what may cause the pneumonia is the flavoring http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/55170-pneumonia.html

That would be awful! I have been ordering for months at all kinds of places and (knock on woodvil) have not had any problems. But as a precaution, I do use only one charge card that is paid off for my vape purchases now. I just dedicated it to only that so should there be a problem I know exactly when/where and since it isn't a card I use for other things, it would be very easy to trace the purchase and all my other stuff stays safe.

I rarely have much of any lung involment with colds and lungs normally least affected of all parts/systems with influenza. Few weeks ago I found a juice in cool storage from 2010; Almond Horn from ... having brain fart. Started throat cough that got worse over a few days then about a week in woke up with chest congestion, pain, and phlegm requiring expectorant/cough syrup. I can vape any percentage of PG and VG, thank doG. It was the flavorings that got me. If my lungs and immunity weren't so robust that irritation could have moved into a bronchial infection of some kind.

When DH first started vaping, a few weeks in, he developed a pretty resistant bronchitis that lasted for weeks. He was pretty sick for about a week. This man has had influenza maybe twice the 36+ years I've known him. Maybe only once. (He does bring the viruses home to me, the cold/flu wimp.) He doesn't even get colds. Bronchitis is a stranger to him.

So I wouldn't totally dismiss any rare connection.

Press Conference Boston CNN....They are just now releasing pictures of two suspects.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Masses of people eat cows and pigs without a thought. Both are higher intellect and more social than say horses. Not all, of course, due to selective breeding for meat/milk production as highest priority. I certainly don't advocate eating dogs but have less issues with horse meat. Guinea Pigs, rabbits make great pets and people have "soft spots" for them but they and similar mammals are consumed around the world as delicacies. People regularly hunt and eat Bambi. etc.......

I would probably eat an already dead, from causes other than to be consumed, properly preserved human, before killing a canine to eat but if times were tough enough and children were starving I'd have to do some rearranging my feelings and sentiments about.

Val all I could do is contact match.com. My credit union gave me their number. But of course the only info I got was the acct was opened in my name and address using my cc info. So no way of telling where for sure they got the info from. Said I could hire an atty to pursue it but of couse the fees would outweigh the damage. Sounds like it is a problem also at match.com. Have heard many that "suddenly" get charged from them. Well lesson learned I guess. Pre paid card all the way.
Well everyone have a great evening.

I got charges to that site too but B of A bank contacted me before I even noticed it and after I confirmed it wasn't me they cancelled everything and issued a new card.
