This cat is not even a year old and was a house kitty until his owners moved with out taking him about 3 to 6 months ago.

I have to try something anyway and if he is too unhappy maybe i can find a farm to take him. At the very least he needs to be fixed!!!

The thing is though i live in the sticks the neighbors are kinda close together and most are renters that like to shoot guns at strays :( My property is fenced in and only about 3/4s acre so almost an acre. Maybe indoors with a outdoor enclosure would work.

wish me luck :)

does anyone know if a abandoned and gone feral cat can be a house cat? First i would have to get my neighbor to trap it then get it fixed. anyway the cat is black and has a bobtail. It is bigger than my dog o_O and it is wild :(

I have always kept stray dogs that were abandoned but they were puppys and so easy to feed and catch :)

I want this cat because it is only a matter of time before someone kills it. People shoot cats out here :( I know it is abandoned because i asked some of my neighbors and found out. It has been 6 months on its own. Once it came in my house but it was so wild it scared me and i left the door opened so it would leave. I wasn't thinking it might be abandoned!

Yes...you can. Our cat was abandoned and had gone wild. But we sat in her presence (on the stoop) quietly for a very long time...fed her from a distance and eventually she came inside and made herself at home. It took about 3 months. That was 11 years ago and she's still here. Not sure about trapping though. I can't imagine a trapped cat appreciating anything regardless of how nice you are.

The fact that he did come into your house is a big plus the way I see it. Tempting him with food outside and getting him closer to the house would be a good thing. A little shelter by the house would allow him some time to get use to your scent.

He just might be yearning for the human contact he once had. But trials of his outside life now make him nervous.

Good luck with him!

Evenin' Reoville!

i spent today doing all the chores i've been putting off for a month.

these are chores that would have taken most of you an hour or less to accomplish, but thanks to my Black Belt in lethargy and sloth, they took me all day.

i'm still spying a sinkfull of dirty dishes...

:)

i do no chores at all. I'll move heavy things, get tight bottle tops open and reach things in high cupboards and that's it.

I bought HRH a vacuum cleaner 2 Xmases ago and she has banned me from the kitchen on account of an accident with her knives! So i sit here in splendid solitude and enjoy watching her cook and clean. Ain't life grand?

Hi Den, and Jay!

Den, how was the cooking? Worth the dirty dishes I hope. Do you have a dishwasher (other than yourself?) I put my pots and pans in there and it has a setting for them. I tell DH not to bother to buy me anything (except my Cousances/le creseut which doesn't need it) that won't go in the dishwasher. Knives included. I don't got time for dat (sic).

UMMMMM... my guess is 3? But maybe 2? I dunno... He has as many as makes him happy to have I bet ;)

Does anyone know how many I have? I don't really go on about it much... I suspect Scott is the same way?

I'm sorry, did you just say you were thinking about sending me a REO stand hand made in your wood shop :?:

ETA: because REO's have different dimensions so you would need to know which exact ones he has...
