sweet or dry vermouth? sounds great. i will give it a try this weekend!!
thanks!

I actually didn't even know there was a sweet, mine just says "extra dry". I read a book by her at some time and I just remember she used vermouth?

ETA: and you might want to wait until it is done for the verdict, I have NO idea how this will turn out!

Deli, try your safari and see if you can see the pictures. I also see your flowers on your profile page.

Thanks Sashie :) I tried Safari but didn't see it... tried Explorer and now I see it :) Going back to FF to see if I can troubleshoot since that's the one I use most :thumb:

Just thought I would let everyone know my little buddy is doing a little better and is eating "although through a tube and syringe".
He's not out of the woods yet but at least he's responsive and can stand up on his own.
I'm at least hopeful at this point.

Thanks for the support:)

Such good news and hoping it keeps up. Feel for you.

MRIs.... three years ago or so I had five in a few short months. (MRIs have been a pretty regular thing for me over the years. So thankful I don't suffer from claustrophobia!!!!!!) The head/spine ones could have been the worst but for some reason the sounds the machine makes lulls me into semi-sleep. (and I'm usually sleep deprived when I have them) Nothing I've learned to do; just luck. Know the torture of lying flat. So far they've always given me a towel to put under knees that helps tremendously.

Quick drop in. Howdy Fine REO Folk.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered a bunch but new thing for me.......
I most often use Google Chrome but just recently Photobucket has become nonresponsive using it so I have to use IE for PB. So when I come to ECF, using IE, while I'm posting pictures, I get this doG awful ad window, video on bottom right of screen. I haven't researched it and short on time. Anybody know how to turn the damn thing off. Clicking on the "X" to close just opens another tab. Really the pits especially being a paid supporter of ECF.

Be/get well, Feisty Alice

I just put some stuff in a crockpot for Thursday's dinner. It is sort of a chicken strogranoff, but I used plain full fat yogurt instead of sour cream. Supposedly, the yogurt enzymes keep the chicken breasts (not to be confused with those Pietro was wanting to watch smash) from drying out. If it tastes like crap, I always tell my brothers 911 pizza is always an option! It was pretty easy, just mix 16 oz yogurt, 16 oz chopped mushrooms, 1/2 cup of white wine (I always use vermouth a la Julia Child), a can of mushroom soup, half an onion, chopped garlic, some pepper, and I used a pouch of buillon concentrate. Then pour it all over boneless, skinless chicken breasts (mine were the frozen tenderloins from Costco of course!) and let it cook for 6 to 7 hours on low.

I plan on serving it over baked potatoes instead of noodles because DH decided the 2 of us NEED a huge bag of russets from Costco. I am also the proud owner of more red delicious apples and yellow onions than we can eat in a month if anyone has any ideas on how I can use them (as long as it isn't pastry, my niece has the monopoly on that).

Here is the recipe I based the stroganoff on, healthy crockpot chicken stroganoff | ChinDeep

Thanks for the recipe. Think I'll give it a try but will check ingredients for gluten and do substitutions as needed. Like the idea of potatoes although over some rice noodles might be fun. (DH is easing up a bit on being "carb nazi" lately because we are into trying out recipes for gluten free, many with more carbs than he usually "allows."

Great way to use up bunches of onions...... We do enjoy our caramelized onions. Doing them properly, per meal, is very time consuming as it takes about an hour with constant attention if using fresh onions. I do a huge batch in big crock pot, low setting, using a little olive oil poured over them. Several hours on low. (Cant give time as many newer crock pots' low setting is much higher than the old ones.) Then separate into meal sized portions and freeze. When time to use thaw in bag or container in microwave, drain off excess liquid, and then finish the caramelizing in skillet with preferred oil (we use olive oil). Finish can be done in less than 30 minutes. (For those who aren't familiar, caramelizing takes pretty high heat but you don't want to brown them.) Chef son in law gave me this tip. I'll be doing a whole Costco bag this weekend. (I just located a whole bag I forgot in garage.... by smell....... EUEEEEEEE!!!!!! Normally all veggie matter goes into compost bin but I wanted to get these gotten rid of really fast so they went into big freezer, in plastic bag, till next garbage pickup.)

Hope you get some resolution on the pain.

Poor dear Karen. Are you taking any muscle relaxers before therapy?

Norman, forgot to wish you good luck on MRI results.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Evening everyone
Don't know if I can post this here, if not I apologise
My son was in the army for nearly 10 years
Served in the drum platoon, of the second battalion, of the royal regiment of fusiliers good friends with the soldier who was murdered on the street in London yesterday
Son is very upset, but my heart goes out to the young soldiers 2 year old son
The man killed served two tours of duty, in Afghanistan, unscathed, then to be murdered on the street, for no other reason, than that he served his country, is deplorable

Happy Thursday all! Trying to remember to post my "hello" instead of just think it! Off to work in a few minutes for my last shift this week. It's been another busy week at the hospital and I'm looking forward to a few nights off. I don't exactly remember why I wanted to be a nurse...sometimes I just want to get up in the mornings and go make donuts!

Hope everyone has a great evening!!

Dang Frank I really hate news like this. Useless, senseless killings are soooo despicable to say the least. Probably a group of low lifes that did it to. Condolences for all, especially for his young son. Can't imagine what a slap in the head thats gonna be fer the tike in the years to come. :(
