The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
3 people were hospitalized with minor injuries...so all in all...very good news. A car, a truck and a travel trailer went down with the section. Amazing that there was no one killed.

I'm doing okay....just sitting here is a small state of shock. Tired, but now overtly aware. I'm going to have a hard time getting to sleep as I anticipate my travels in that area tomorrow.

How are you, my friend? :)

Doing ok thx. Just holding Gatlins hand hoping he sleeps soon. Have to go out make sure everything's locked up good. Forgot to lock truck last night. Someone allmost stole GPS last night but Simba scared them off. Wish I coulda let him out in time to eat them but I was too slow.

Well if that isn't the best excuse NOT to go to those sights and take the day off, I don't know what is!

Glad to hear everyone is okay!

 I wish. The nice part is I'm fairly familiar with the back roads so I can get around the bridge without too much issue. The majority of my routes will be fairly easy to do and won't have much to do with this circus. The last two routes however are right in that area both on the Mount Vernon and Burlington sides...so its going to be difficult when I get there. I'll be playing all that by ear when I get there. I'm one of those super sneaky drivers that plans my routes miles ahead so I run into the least amount of confrontational situations while behind the wheel. I am a driver that used to suffer from road rage....so now I plan ahead to keep the rage down to a dull roar.

But I like the way you think

I found the best way to avoid road rage is to slow down do the limit and let others rage at me. I get great pleasure knowing I'm pissing people off  plus what's the rush.

I've done that too...with mixed results. But I won't go into that here. I've had a few words with folks outside the vehicles about situations like that.

One of my successes is eliminating the majority of my left turns out of my routes.

Well it's pretty rare that people are packing here so it's ok. Been 20+ years since I've been shot at so not bad. He ended up rolling his jeep as I got away anyways. Silly boy didn't anyone tell him jeeps are for girls

Ya,...that's not the case down here. But I've only been aimed at once...and that wasn't my fault. Just some dumb punk driving up and down I5 with a gun bullying people. The other times, it was me who was out of control jumping out of my car screaming and yelling. But honestly...I'm not enough of a threat to warrant a weapon being drawn. It's more laughable really. Like I said...I've calmed down a lot in my old age.

I used to have to get there yesterday. Always in a rush and don't know why. Now well if I don't get there today I will tomorrow. That's why if going away I like to take my trailer. I can sleep wherever I want. Just pull over crawl into bed and sleep. Even like that regular now tho. Just no point in rushing. I do still like to drive fast if it's safe to. But those opportunitys aren't in the city and town that's for sure. Plus people see my truck and they see redneck so it save me lots of hassle.

Ok time for me to sleep now good night all be well have a great day tomorrow.

Good morning, REOville!

Frank, my heart goes out to your son and the family of his fallen friend. There just aren't words for that, and I am so sorry.
Julie, if you need the reminder, you became a nurse because you ROCK!! And I'm pretty sure that making donuts instead would be slightly less fulfilling:p!
Shelbee, hope your Grand's first day at work was grand:)! And, speaking of new additions, great pics of your new VVG, sashie!
Nutz, great about the new house's clean bill o' health!
Alice, loads of delicious caramelized onions are the key to my famous tuna casserole, but Trunker teased me last time I mentioned that it''s my signature dish...compared it to some microwave potato chip number he liked to whip up in college, or something like that...grrrr:glare:...:p
Dave, my uncle has a very strange affection for lobsters, so I actually knew your bit of fascinating morning trivia during this catch-up:2cool:! I hope you're having a fantastic 4-day weekend!
And I hope that everyone has a nice smooth glide into the weekend today, whether you're anticipating two days of R&R or more. Delightful Fridays and delicious vapes to all:vapor:!

Sweet crocs, Scott. I like the loafer look of the tops...no swiss cheese tan lines.

Those of you who cant see my pics, I'm wondering if you're all using the same browser. I'm using Chrome.
I'm using Chrome, can't see pics.

Evening everyone
Don't know if I can post this here, if not I apologise
My son was in the army for nearly 10 years
Served in the drum platoon, of the second battalion, of the royal regiment of fusiliers good friends with the soldier who was murdered on the street in London yesterday
Son is very upset, but my heart goes out to the young soldiers 2 year old son
The man killed served two tours of duty, in Afghanistan, unscathed, then to be murdered on the street, for no other reason, than that he served his country, is deplorable
Frank
Deepest sympathies for his family, friends and young son. Tongue tied and choked up...

Happy Thursday all! Trying to remember to post my "hello" instead of just think it! Off to work in a few minutes for my last shift this week. It's been another busy week at the hospital and I'm looking forward to a few nights off. I don't exactly remember why I wanted to be a nurse...sometimes I just want to get up in the mornings and go make donuts!

Hope everyone has a great evening!!
My Mom got tired of making donuts in her late forties and became a nurse, she's in her 60's now and thinks about going back to the donuts after almost every shift. Much love and respect for nurses  I took one semester of nursing school and then decided to make donuts professionally.

Good stuff as chili substitute and chile sauce substitute over other foods. It doesn't pass DH's chile requirements but great fast meal for me and I actually like it better than real chili. Tasty Bite Madras Lentils | Lentils, red beans and spices in a creamy tomato sauce.

Hugs, Feisty Alice
I really didn't think I would like Lentils out of a bag. Was so pleasantly surprised, they were a great summertime dinner!

Sounds just grand Val, wish I had a tasty ;). I just adore chicken and turkey, news flash......omg, DW breaking out the canned salmon
Frozen cod, canned Salmon... Are you sure you live in Hawaii?

Sorry to those I missed! Hope everyone has a great day!

New critter adoptions happening here at the circus. Little Sister has started a frog rescue mission. I spazzed out when she first started it...typical big sister stuff "Go wash your hands! You're going to get warts! Leave them alone!" Of course it went in one ear and out the other. Sat over at her house last night and it was like she is the pied piper of the frogs! Tree frogs, toads, little frogs, big frogs just started appearing around us, sitting on rocks, swimming in their pond and showing off various vocal talents. She even had the dogs behaving and just watching, teaching the dogs that the frogs are pets.

What did you do last night?
Oh, sat around and watched the frogs sing.

I have to agree with Darrel on the slow down what's the rush driving mentality. I used to drive as fast as I felt I could get away with and was always in a hurry to get to and from work. A 20 mile drive on highway and city combined. I do not recall what prompted me to consider making the change but I experimented driving as quickly as I could for 2 weeks and then just cruising at the speed limit for 2 weeks. Average difference in arrival time was about a 1:10 slower when driving the speed limit. I found that luck of the draw on stop lights made far more difference on how fast you arrive.

Since then I just sit back and relax and drive the limit. I save gas and have eliminated a lot of city driving stress by doing so. Now people that drive under the speed limit stress me out more than speeders. I truly think they cause more accidents on the highway than speeders do.

Morning Jen! Yesterday I could not see thumbnail pics. Even my REO pics on my profile were gone.

This morning all the thumbnail pics are back and the REO pics are also.

From what I read the servers are taking extra time to find the attachments.

Have a wonderful day sweetie!

Attention folks! I need help from our domesticated reonauts on choosing a vacuum cleaner because ours is onits last leg, plus it's year old, real heavy, and sucks. What I want is something relatively light-weight while not compromising on power. I want this sucker to suck like a western european ....... But I can't afford no Dyson. I also don't want a 2-peice or bagged version. Prefer to find it locally but amazon is acceptable. First hand experience with said vacuum is a plus.

Thanks in advance,

RHP
