Not sure how big your propertyis but the other day Simba went nuts to kill something running outside. Don't know if her heard it or smelled it but it was a cat close to 300 feet away and Simba was in the house. Dogs will protect their family and property better if they are part of the family. It is cruel punishment to leave a dog outside unless their is several of them to keep warm and socialized.Good morning all.
I am much different than all of you when it comes to dogs. They are dogs, and dogs belong outside patrolling the perimeter. They don't live inside, that is where people and a cat live. They come inside a lot, don't get me wrong. But the yard is their primary realm.
When we first got this dog, she pee'd inside a lot. I had already taken her to a vet, but apparently they missed the urinary tract infection that I promptly diagnosed when the poor girl pee'd so often. It is really unfair to the dog to scold her for pee'ing with a UI. After the UI was gone, we commenced training. But she always comes to get ME when she wants to go outside and lets DH sleep. She is getting spoiled too, I started bringing her in more and she thinks she belongs inside instead of doing her job of keeping the yard safe. Which is, of course, all my fault. I have to remind myself often that she belongs outside since she spends 80% of the time inside instead of the other way around. Did I mention that dogs belong outside patrolling the perimeter? It's true, really it is...
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and staying safe!

Good Morning Reo-fam! I hope everyone is having a lovely, lazy Sunday. Jeni, good luck hun on going back to just vaping. I actually got off stinkies in Sept 2010 and continued until April 30, 2011 when my dad passed. Strangely enough he died from emphysema caused by smoking. I wasnt able to quit again until Nov 23, 2011, which is one of my oldest friends bd's. I thought that might help me stick to it...and it did! So maybe if you try to pick a date that is truly important to you, it may help. In any case good luck. It took courage to admit it and I'm thankful you did. This way we can focus our prayers and positive vibes in the right direction!
Wait, wait...I "liked" that post because I do believe in doggie doors and letting the pups be inside a good deal of the time, but don't tell me that Simba got that poor kitty! Literally...I don't wanna know if he did! Enjoy your Sunday breakfast, Darrel

Thank you for sharing. You deserved to win the Chalice in the contest. Proud to know ya even though you're not on my friends list anymore. Real friends don't have lists. Wait, what

Thanks Becky! I'm not as far gone as I was before I started with e-cigs, but I know that I would feel better again if I could/would just stop. I think it's mostly in my head because I can go a few days without cigs, but then I cave. I use low nicotine juice because I don't like the "pepper" flavor of higher nic juices. I'll keep plugging away at it, took the ashtry outside so I'm determined not to smoke in the house, with summer coming, and the fact that I hate the heat, that should help. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, had a lumpectomy and 2 re-excisions then 7 weeks of radiation, and I am clear now, and fully expect to stay that way, it just knocked me sideways for a while.
I coiled an A7 and a new mini A7 yest. Forgot to soak the mini so it tasted like oil for a couple hours yuck. It came coiled at 4.37 so I just threw it on a Grand and it works just fine. For some reason I didnt think it would. I guess maybe the resistance isnt as crucial as I imagined it to be. The A7 @ 1.4 went on a VV and it works fine also.
There is no way I am allowing a "doggie door". That thing would allow the dog to drag in every pollen particle from god knows where, and it will become unlivable for me INSIDE as well as outside. I damp wipe her down every time she comes in to try to keep as much of it out of the house as possible. I am even trying to do gluten free to ease the inflammation, I will try anything at this point to not be so miserable with my allergies. I have no idea if the gluten thing is going to work, but I guess it won't hurt.
Our dog spent a lot more time outside when we had the other dog, but DH will not get another dog to keep her company so I bring her in a lot now so she isn't so lonely. I keep telling him we could get an older dog and save it from the kill shelter if he doesn't want to go through the puppy thing, but he won't go for it even to save a life and make our dog a happier dog. I truly feel sorry for her, she really misses her friend. We do keep her outside when we aren't home, but with my leg that means she is inside most of the time now. Did I mention that a dog's place is patrolling the perimeter? Yeah right![]()
Yup, you're just a big softie, Val...all bark and no bite on the pooch policy! Allergies truly are the pits; knowing your skills with research, I'm not even gonna give you the few tricks I have with that because I'm sure you'd know them already plus so much more. Good luck to you, though!
You know, I just realized that all of you with allergies should have air cleaners in your homes. I had a cat with allergies so I got two Whirlpool hospital grade air cleaners. What I discovered is that the air in my home was so clean and crisp that I cant live without them. Plus dusting is a breeze. I love the constant "breeze" it makes and I especially love how in winter, it smells so good in here and doesnt get stagnant. Just a thought for all our allergy sufferers. I lost that old gal (aptly named Hobbes for her human like personality) in 2009 when the "melanine" laced pet food came over from China. She lived nearly 23 years. Miss her dearly. I lost 4 cats total from that damn food. Still not over it. Tabitha was born after so no chance of losing her.
You lost me there bud. Was that for me or for Jeni?
Good Morning Reoville!
