oh noooooo so glad she has you to help her but yeah it'll wear you out. Very glad she is getting better and doing well. Jup ya just don't jump right up from something like that. Hope you take some time for you, to rest and relax.

My aunt was around 80 when she fell down the basement stairs, broke 14 bones, had a stroke a few days later..... she was in the hospital side of an assisted living place, but she lived several years after that. I can't imagine going through all that at that age. Or any age really.

being in hospital and rehab so long, they tended to some long standing issues that needed resolving. So there are positives to come out of it

I tried the brass screw and nuts prior to doing the solid silver negative screw. Let me tell you, there's even more of a difference. Not to mention, maintenance is next to nothing... As far as I know, I am the only person that had Corey machine the silver screws for the Reo. He said everyone else scoffed at the price and decided against them. I wouldn't hesitate again to do another if I had one...
I did it too, I think they hit as hard as Corey's mod or at least in the ballpark. I've converted four of my Reo's and am looking to do the rest of my LP Adjustable 510's. Maybe even get a couple for future buys. The dreaded dirty or blackened firing pin is a thing of the past with the upgraded gear. If you get the firing pin up grade spring for the screw too. It's well worth it. I have had some blackening bit I just used my finger to wipe it off but I don't build much under .5 ohms. So there's that too.

Paul and @muzichead, is this a DIY mod (I have a hobby workshop) or a mod from C-C ?
Pls do tell me more.
It's DIY, but the pos contact comes from Corey at CC. He also makes a neg contact, too. He didn't have them at the time I modified mine. You do have to open up the delrin cover to make room for the larger contact to pass and contact the battery. The neg side, drill and tap the appropriate size hole for whatever you use in place of the spring.

i'm tired, my mum falled down and spent 5 weeks in hospital... just caring for her for the most part

often hear of the elderly "having a fall"... but until you see it, you just don't realise

i found her on her bedroom floor, all hypothermic and unwell, with a cracked hip :(

she is doing well with recovery, just slow

Doffy..does Australia have such services as medical/physical homecare? It would take some of the load off you....

I don't want to start a political debate but I offer my condolences to my neighbours to the south.
Thank you. I'm sticking it out a few more years. Love my job etc, but I thoroughly plan on moving to your country within the next 4-6 years. Chrissy's on board. We loved Cape Breton.

Hey Justice, maybe you couldn't smell the stink of corruption up there. I love showing my middle finger to the Establishment.:) Liberals and conservatives both.

Doing some serious thinking about a Reo Grand LP, I've never owned one before, and definately starting to fall for them. Done quite a bit of reading here, his website.....one thing I'm not clear on.....are they designed for the IMR button top batteries, or would a flat top 18650 of good quality work? Thanks!

I've been using button and flat tops without problems.
Button travel with the flat top, is a ml or two more.
