lmao! I love this!! Totally swiped it.

I was thrilled when I turned 30. Yeah I know.......I'm odd, but that's no secret. [emoji38] I had been through a lot in life before then......and I was sooooo sick of folks telling me awwwwww yur just a baby. :grr: I thought maybe when I turned 30 that would finally stop. It didn't, but I was still happy to be 30. For some weirdo reason, the one that kinda freaked me out was turning 24
50 was the that got me. I went so far as to leave town Friday evening so my family & friends couldn't do a party. I got home Sunday night, it was dark already, unlocked my door & took a step in to turn on a lamp, & got lightly booped in the head with some thing. Stuck my hand, felt around, nothing. Reached for the lamp again, boop. Still nothing. Gritted my teeth, turned on the lamp, & was greeted by the sight of my living room, dining room & kitchen filled with floating ballons. All black. Signs everywhere, including inside the fridge. It was really funny!

My age doesn't bother me - it's the old woman that is in the mirror that bothers me

Ok missy...I have to refute your assessment of your looks...... I SAW you in person and i can verify for a fact that you might pass for 40-something...so there:p

and on the low-40's...so double the so-there!

morning Kena how you doing ?
Good, Scott! You? I got an infusion yesterday, had a panic attack, & now I'm on the steroid rollercoaster. On the top of the hill at the moment, so doing some rebuilding, washing 2 new K5's, unpacking & entering into inventory the flavoring I got yesterday, & trying not to eat every 5 minutes!

Never saw the sun, shining so bright,
Never saw things, going so right...
Noticing the days, hurrying by,
When you're in love, my how they fly, oh...

...Blue skies...
Smiling at me... nothing but
Blue skies...
Do I see...

– Excerpted from "Blue Skies"
Love this song!

If I walked into a dark house and something booped me on the head......I'd have run screamin back into the night! hehehe Bet that wuz hilarious though. Yeah 50 was definitely a head scratcher. Don't even know how the heck that happened. One minute I wuz 23, then those words 1/2 a century we burnt into my brain!

I totally agree!! Wuz thinking the same thing when I read that, but forgot to post it!

I think I've figured out why blondes have more fun

They can't see their own gray hairs, so they still think they're 23!!!

Howdy Kenna, RedhatPat here. I'm sorry to hear about this rollercoaster ride you're going through at the moment sister. If being "on the top of the hill" is a good thing then I hope you can manage to stay as long as possible. Then again, I'm a flatlander, what do I know?

Thanksn RHP! I have to do this 4 times a year to control Rheumatoid Arthritis. I get a big dose of steroids just before they start the RA drug. But I am sensitive to steroids so I spend the next 4 or 5 days waaaay wound upn hair trigger temper, & little to no sleep. I slept about 3 hours last night, I, m worn out now & need a nap. I usually broadcast a steroid alert before I get an infusion & remind everyone to just tell me to shut up if I get out of line. It wakes up & helps me snap out of it, so it's ok to say! Bet ya never heard anyone say that was ok before, much less ask you to direct it at thrm!

I can't imagine, especially when you add in the insomnia you're describing. Misery must love company 'cuz I really feel like that too (minus the RA). Feels like you're going to die it's just a question of how and when, as if time is gaining on you.

It's like a predator; it's stalking you. Oh, you can try and outrun it with doctors, medicines, new technologies. But in the end, time is going to hunt you down... and make the kill.

But listen, it's our mortality that defines us, Kenna. It's part of the truth of our existence. You're good and you will make it (and may help others make it without even realizing it) to heck with whether or not you do it with style Sister!!

I think they're saying that 60 is the new 30, so no worries. :)
now..you could have told me 2years ago I was the new 40, but then, as my dear old ma used to say "David (you know that tone of voice, don't you) when are you going to grow up ! well, seems it's too late for that now so I'll just carry on enjoying life, and my REOs.
And @LoriP1702 just for once I'm not late to the party - huge congrats on 4yrs tomorrow.:banana:

Howdy REOville, RedhatPat here. Can my fellow REOvillians, especially the men in the audience tonight, relate to owning or having owned a very very old item of clothing for illogicial reasons, like a "lucky sweater hoodie" or a pair of jeans you wear out for almost a decade?

Well, I have a t-shirt that I've clocked in many years (pre-dates even my woman) and has been washed a lot since it's white, you can imagine.

Well my girl must have this pet peeve about it and nags me ALL THE TIME she ever see's me wear it! I don't even wear it much yet she always hits me with that wry sense of humor of hers whenever she see's me in it.

This time, apparently to illustrate how big the holes are, not to mention how far-gone my shirt is, she grabbed a pen and drew me a tattoo while I was watching a movie

hehehe I've got a tshirt that was given to me that has so many holes in it, that I have to now wear a tank top under it. But it's sooooo comfy. My ex had a pair of shorts that he loved, but the waist band elastic in them was shot. They looked horrible, but I didn't nag him about getting rid of them. One day however, he was cooking some bacon.......greased popped up, and went straight done the front of those shorts. Since he was not wearin undies at the time    the shorts went in the trash that day!!!

I’m a strong believer in the fact that people want most what they cannot have. I would be surprised to find anyone who would disagree with that or who hasn’t heard or thought about it before, so for that reason I’m going to skip the explanation of this concept.

There’s a side of this that I think gets overlooked though:

People also want what they can possibly lose. The higher the chance of losing something, the more we want to keep it.

Am I being too abstract? Let me give some examples that most of us can relate to.

When in a relationship, the degree in which one person wants the other tends to fluctuate. Sometimes you really want your spouse and other times not as strongly. This doesn’t mean you love them any less, it’s just a natural variance.

You’ll notice that the times you really want each other, though, is when there’s any sort of threat that can take them away. The prime example here is jealousy.

Ah, jealousy, the unique emotion that can tear people apart who love each other, or keep bad couples together for the wrong reasons.

Most people have caught on to this function of jealousy, and some even use it to their advantage. If a person feels their spouse isn’t paying enough attention to them, they might purposely flirt with someone else in front of them to make them jealous. Why start trouble? Because they’re creating a threat and the idea of them being snatched away by someone else makes their spouse want them more.

Sometimes people feel too comfortable in a relationship and see no chance of it ending because things are perfectly fine. This causes them to lose interest though because something that secure has very little chance of being taken away. What do they do to fix this problem? Without even realizing it, they will often start fights over petty issues or complain about things that would never be issues if bigger problems existed. Now the possibility of breaking up just increased and a threat has been posed. Starting to see the cycle?

When you watch a sporting event, it’s always more fun to watch your team narrowly win because if they’re so far ahead that they can’t lose, what’s the point of watching?

It’s been said that if people were immortal they wouldn’t enjoy life as much, if at all. This is because there’s no chance of losing life, and nothing can possibly pose a threat to it. This tends to be the key in the tragedy of most vampire stories. The immortal, who we would think would be happier than us, actually envy us for being able to die. Let’s lay off the science fiction though.

Ever have a bad dream where someone you care about dies? I’ll bet you woke up wanting to see them more than usual. The idea of their mortality is something you probably don’t normally think about on a regular basis, so when it enters your mind… well I think you get the idea.

You’ll also notice this happens with possessions. You may not be crazy about some old shirt that you never wear, but if someone suggests giving it to someone else, maybe as a hand-me-down, suddenly you really like it and want it for yourself.

This last example will serve as a segway into my next update:

When your spouse leaves on a trip somewhere for a few days, you miss them more than if you haven’t seen them for a week when they’re closer by. That’s because when they’re on a trip, you have no chance of seeing them, the option isn’t there. So your desire for them is much stronger than if you could see them whenever you want. Missing someone has its bad side (when the person is away), but it always feels so good to finally see them upon their return.

It’s important to have a healthy amount of time apart in a relationship – just enough to miss them a little bit. But I’ll elaborate on this subject next time in a blog or something..

I would just like to note that is this not ground-breaking, and I take no credit whatsoever for the ideas discussed. This is a simple explanation of an already discovered quality of human nature. I also strongly recommend watching "A Nice Place To Visit" which is a Twilight Zone episode written by Charles Beaumont. I can think of no better example of this subject than this.

R.I.P Mr Beaumont (he died at 38).

Sloths are the greatest

Howdy Rayonati Sloth, RedhatPat here. Feel free to call me, RHP, Pat, anything 'cept flatlander! Now young'in after I poured my heart out to you with honesty about my sour relationship with the word "Sloth" rather than the cute animal, I will try not to take your post personally, brother.

Anyway, here is a song about a hedgehog eating a carrot with his head stuck in a toilet paper tube.

Have a great weekend my fellow REOvillians,
