Just starting with a REO Grand and bought a number of the AW 18650 - 1600 mah batteries.

Then I read this Thread last night. I thought the AW 18650 - 1600 mah was preferred if your Coil is above .5 Ohms.

I am confused now;

My new to me Grand SL. Loving it!

Kinda plain Jane, but my wife is on a red eye tonight from California with my Kawasaki Green door (shipping to Canada from REO is insane!). Should look great!

The 24mm Tsunami is too big, but is the only BF atty I have until a couple others I ordered show up....

Finally figured out what I had been missing all this time. In the past I had build to 1.5 ohms, as that's what worked on my Kayfuns, but I wasn't getting great flavor. I'm a slow and cautious learner. Each time I re-coil I fire the build up on a regulated device. Flavor was always killer and then muted once on the REO. I got looking around on steam engine and figure at 1.5 ohms I was vaping at a much lower wattage than I ever would on a regulated device. Went for a 1 ohm build on both REO'a and am in heaven.

There was a bit of intimidation with respect to me going to a mech. Eased my way in, with safety always being my priority, and I'm in a great spot now.

Thanks for all of your help. My REO parts shipment came in and I am now set for extra springs, screws, bottles, tubes, buttons and positive contacts. :thumb:

I also bought the Kawasaki Green door and it looks great with the silver mod!

This is very random, but for some reason, I think I'm gonna order an O-16 from VapinArt... :?:

Haven't even thought about an atty in a long time. Not sure why now. I guess I'm curious about a Stumpy-esque atty but smaller with more flavor and less airflow. I would kind of like to start vaping a "milder" vape, if I can swing it.

Just a thought - you could try out the decent quality $11 clone first. And maybe jump on board with a Catfish ChiNarda or Ch- O-atty too. :)

no worries, like JC said, the aw 1600 is a great batt to use. The person in the thread was saying wherever they looked were out of that one and wanted to know if another one they posted would be just as good. Retired was saying that the other batt they posted would not be good for a Reo. Congrats on your first Reo and welcome to the family!!!

Wahoooooo bet it looks great with that kawa green door! which others attys do you have inbound?

that's great!! For you and slots!! After using a Reo for close to 2 years, I switched to SS wire, went from 1.3 ohms to .5 ohms (which I could never do with kanthal) and am getting a fantastic vape! So it's not uncommon to keep learning things! :)

Not a bad suggestion but I already bit the bullet (like a shmuck I might add...trying to save up for a new car...impulse buy)
Sloth, I've been using a little O-16 for several months now....and I really like it and think you will, too.

NarDA, Origen and another Tsunami. Also a couple of attys that come with the Coppervape kits I ordered. Think I am set!

An interesting atty selection. Like an all-you-can-eat buffet!

i'll be interested to see the coils and wicking.

Raynman's thinking NarDa - that's what the O-atty is similar to...

I have both authentic and clone 0-16's.
Here's some notes -
- it's a great atty for a "restricted lung" hit when wide open
- it's TINY, but I run duals - for your new vapers - are they going to build? Are you going to help? Just sayin' - it's a really tiny deck!
- There are only really two things of note about the clone.
My 510 threads were really tough to thread first time. I FORCED it onto a Reo Grand - which has, of course, tough threads - and from then on, it was fine. Another one I tried was fine from the start - but it's just POSSIBLE that you'd have to do that...
The drip tip is a different, cheaper looking material. I don't use the supplied drip tip anyway - but it's a little translucent compared to the authentic.

Bottom line -
I think the o-16 is a great device, and I'm glad I got an authentic. And the clone seems machined pretty darned well - especially for a gift, I think it's a good choice, as long as they are going to learn building for it...

PS - either one, they DO get pretty hot. At least for me they do - running 'em at 0.5 ohms.

I've been using my O-16 for the last 6 months and love it, if money were not an issue I would get 2 more. How does the clone vape compared to the original, worse, better or the same?

It's pretty much the same vape...
I had one clone with crunchy 510 threads - solved by forcing it onto a Reo. Another was fine, and the machining on the rest of it is quite good. The drip tip is a cheaper material - but I don't use that drip tip anyway. I'm glad I have an authentic - but it really is a good clone...
