If we had only known then....
are they worth a lot now? We had this around 1983, so knew it could be worth a good bit if we could have restored it, we just couldn't afford to do it at that time.

I have a mini Reo in a hard glass case. Less space taken up but ready and willing if ever needed.
That's a great idea! I have been wanting to get a purse with one of those little outside phone pockets for awhile now to put a Reo in it, but hadn't thought of just keeping one in there. I'd prolly just need to check the batt now and then.

Yep. black Grands rock. The first REO I bought was a black ano, followed shortly thereafter with a black wrinkle. Both are still in frequent use; lots of miles in the cup holder of a golf cart, and lots of miles on the course.

Black grands go with everything. Simple, understated, elegant, timeless.

They also accessorize better than any other reo (IMHO). Here's one with a patina door (kinda a 'party in the front, business in the back' thing goin' on).

They also stand up very well to the salt mines (aka work). Admittedly, my work is in a cushy office, but a drop from a meeting room table onto a concrete floor is a drop none the less.

I don't know the monetary value of a Barracuda, but the sentimental value would be high. They were the coolest, hottest wheels the wild summer ('67) between high school & college.

We must be the same age. The summer between high school and college for me was also 1967. I was driving a little 1932 Chevy Coupe, candyapple red, with a souped-up v-8 engine. Most awesome car I ever had......

I was driving a VW bug convertible that had no starter so the more riders I had to push start it the better. The guy who sold it to me said "it purred like a kitten and ran like a scared cat". It was so fast the ash tray would slide open when I shifted into 3rd gear. I think the ash tray must have been broken.

Yeah, my dad was an auto mechanic. We fixed up that little '32 Chevy together and I drove it from the time I got my license through the rest of high school. It was sooooo cool. Everybody loved my car. There was a down side......it couldn't hold many people, and you remember how in high school everybody ran in packs. Of course, things were different back then and I'll confess to having "passengers" standing on the running boards and hanging on for dear life from time to time. Ha. We called it "playing Keystone Kops!" The movie American Graffiti pretty much told the story of my high school years. Small town in Oklahoma....cruising the streets on a Friday night.....

I ended up selling that little car for next to nothing and buying a "real" car (translate: a used piece of junk that had air-conditioning and automatic transmission....two things I coveted at the time) and have regretted it ever since. On a side note, it's funny this has come up now. My 50-year high school reunion is this coming Saturday. I'm going. LOL

My 50-year high school reunion is this coming next month. I'll bet we both go in a car with air-conditioning and automatic transmission.

Yes on the air conditioning, but I'm back to the stick shift (by choice,) and this little thing isn't much bigger than that little coupe.

Oh, I sooo hear you on this. My first car was a '60's beetle with a broken starter. The rule was you had to push if you wanted a ride. Didn't get it fixed for 2 years.

Man, the stories that car had to tell would make a longshoreman blush. What happens in a beetle stays in a beetle. Ammaright?

I love 500's. Perfect city car. And that electric yellow is clearly an expression of your inner wild child. ;)

Yep.....perfect little car, and the yellow was totally on purpose. The salesman tried to talk me into buying a sage green one with an automatic transmission, but I wasn't having it. Love this little car.

Bought a Boss 302 Mustang, brand new in 1969, which was the first year for them. Drove it like a madman for two years, before getting married to the ex Mrs Rule. Traded it in for something more sensible. The two worst mistakes I ever made. God I loved that car. It would have been worth a pile of $$$ today.

Why, here's one for a paltry $70k: 1969 Ford Mustang Boss for Sale | ClassicCars.com | CC-979647

My favourite Hot Wheels as a kid was the Boss Hoss Silver Special...
