Sorry, this is the noob section. That means absolutely nothing to me. Is this something that lasts for days between charges?

Sorry a standard 18650 gets me about two days of vaping depending how much I vape.

For me when using a juice fed mod like the Ali'i that has a 6ml bottle I fill the bottle each day and change the battery.

so if you vape 3ml a day it will get you two full days easy.

I vape about 6ml of juice per day + or- and the larger battery 6ml juice mods are the way for me and many others.

Those Ali'i units look pretty slick, but I can't find more information on them. Anyone know what size bottle they hold and how long the battery lasts?

The bottle size is 6 ml.
The battery life depends on how much you vape. Some people can vape through about 9ml on one charge.

*Edit....haha...MX beat me! :)

I just wanted to add my two cents to this thread. I just started vaping after a lot of reading, searching, watching videos, and more reading. Ultimately, my decision was that I wanted an all-day vape without the fuss of carrying around extra supplies. After even more research, I found Old Goat's mod (Big Stu's Box Mods illuminated bottomfeeder). It is the best price I could find for a juicebox mod, and Ron (Old Goat) gets nothing but praise for his service and workmanship. I ordered one, along with some mixing supplies. Last night marked the 48-hour point without an analog for me. I'm wearing it around my neck right now at work. I know a lanyard seems a bit goofy, but it's fantastic for driving or any task that requires your hands, for keeping the mod close-at-hand. I'm not going to go into full-review mode, but I do get more than 24 hours out of a single charge and bottle refill. The batteries take a couple hours to charge and the bottle takes a few seconds to refill.

I understand that it's not the top-of-the-line juicebox available, but it may be the best choice for newbies on a budget. I think it may be well worth it to mention it in the OP, but that's just my two cents.

PS - just want to point out that Ron sells both 3.7v and 5v versions. I've got the 3.7v version.

Congrats on the 48 HR mark. Keep up the good work.

As for Ron (Oldgoat) I can say I have a 3.7v juice mod all black no LED. Love the little mod and for the price it is a cost affective way to brake in to the juice mod's. Ron's customer care is #1 product can not be beat for the price.

Thanks for the post we should keep his product up more on this page.

Thanks for adding this to the mix! This little mod does rock! I've recommended it before, and totally forgot about this thread. I really appreciate your addition!

Ugh. Ok. I had my mind set on a very particular starter set that was going to put me back a bit of money. Now, looking over Ron's work, and his pricing I'm right back on the fence on what my first vaper should be. I had previously settled on something that I felt was a good mix of analogue-like, good quality, and at an acceptable price.

It's unfortunate that I can't currently afford anything, even if I could place an order right away. All the other box mods I saw (the few I ran across while actively avoiding mods during my research period) were terribly out of my price range for something I wanted to start out with.

If my funds take long enough that Rob is back in action by the time I'm ready to take the plunge, I'll definitely be giving his stuff a good hard look.

Thanks for this post. I am currently trying to decide on a good device so i can quit the cigs for good. I am a long-time smoker who needs something with very good battery life and will hold lots of juice. I'll do some reading on this box mod

Wish you the best and I'll look for you on the threads.

Great Contribution though I've never tried it but if MX thinks it's a good and cost effective alternative then I'm sure you're on to something. Thanks....that's what this thread is all about, giving alternatives so folks can stay off the harmful stuff!

Thanks!

I posted this photo on the reogrand thread but thought I would post it here as well since some new folks might be here and may be considering buying a Reo. I think the Reo is great. It takes the hassle out of vaping, the durability is second to none in my opinion and it does its job very, very well. So here's my black/black Reo Grand. Sorry for the redundancy to the folks that inhabit the reo thread

As a side note....I went from a joye 510 to an eGo with mega atty to the Grand. I wish I had done a more direct route. I know though that everyone has different ideas about vaping so each to their own. My girlfriend is still on an eGo and she'll probably stay there for a long, long time. At least the cigarettes are in the past.

I had the same progression except I got a Phidias before I ordered the REO Grand (black/black by the way)

When I first started to vape a month ago, I never thought I would be interested in a box mod. I was looking for a cigarette replacement and a box didn't fit the bill. However after just a short time, the box started to make sense and after I received my Phidias I TOTALLY got it. No more fooling around with carts/cartos foam filler and general mess. Now all I do is just make sure I have juice in the bottle and a charged battery and I'm good for 2 days. Going to a self juicing box mod was the best thing I could have done. Plus another benefit is that a box does not remind me of a cigarette which I feel is a good thing since I dont smoke anymore. Overall I feel it's a better experience and if I had known when I first started, I would have certainly started with a good box mod. It's just simple.

Hi Dave,

When i started I thought I needed that cigarette look too. That lasted about 2 weeks then the search was on again. I really wanted to get a wood mod because of the looks...I love that organic look and the handcrafted aspects of the woods. However, being on limited funds I knew I would be buying only one, at least for the foreseeable future to that brought me to the Reo Grand. I loved the Alii but I know that using it all day, everyday I had a good chance of it breaking on me.

That's the most important fact is that the cigs are in the past....congrats to her and you.
