Hmm... not sure if it will improve your flavor (although it did for some). For me, it turns out that using a tip with a smaller bore (or modifying the str10 tip I was using) did the most for me in terms for flavor concentration - even with the built-in beck-style do dad already built into the Sophia.

Good luck!

I've been following this Sophia thread for a few weeks and am intrigued by this atomizer. I have been vaping for a few months and have been hard pressed to find something that gives me a warmer vape. Is the Sophia capable of producing a warm vape. I've tried some genesis tanks with different coils and wicking materials etc... The warmest vape I get is from a Kanger T2 which is a top wick clearomizer and cartomizer tanks. Would the Sophia give me a warn vape in the right configuration?

I wouldn't say the sophia is a warm vape because the coil is at the bottom so the vapor has further to travel before it gets to your mouth. If I want a warm tape its a genesis with a reduced chamber and a low ohm coil around 0.8.

The Sophia is a nice vape and the reason I bought her was to have something that wouldn't leak when I was out . Inside the home genesis rule for flavor and vapor. Especially something like the Rocket or my Nahual.

Spazz, if you're looking at clearomizers, try the Vivi Nova line or some of the other top-coil clearomizers. They are definitely warm vapes much warmer than any of the BCCs I've used. Of course, it also depends on your vaping wattage.

If you're looking at RBAs, I don't have all THAT much experience with them but those designed with the draw tube nearly above the coil are pretty warm. The A7-oid I use (the standard A7 is NOT all that warm) and the Spheroid that I have played with (not mine) come to mind.

Spazz. If you get a Sophia, try it with a dual coil. That should heat things up a bit. :)

hmm... I don't know if it was the short wicks that did it, but I noticed that my Sophia flooded overnight. It was on its side with the flow control open though ...

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

im not using the short wick but mine will flood when I leave it overnight if I don't close the juice control...

Mail carrier just left... :D :D :D :D :D :D
After a little fondling (and a 1.75Ω check)
I'm kissing sweet Sophia with some drips
of MOV Apache just as she arrived... air
intakes at 50%. This is HEAVENLY!

Edit on Sunday to add: Second Sophia on
order with STR 5 and STR 15, Beck adapter,
and spare o-rings. :D :D :D

Edit on Monday to add: Sophia is in tall
cotton this morning. A 1.8Ω 1/16" ready
wire coil with just a wisp of organic ball.
SWEET! Sophia 2 has shipped.

Hi folks!

New around here, but found this forum to have the most discussion regarding the Sophia going on.

Anyway, I bit the bullet and got mine yesterday after being pretty much exclusively a carto tank user for the past year or so, and while the mechanics of the device are wonderful I was wondering if anyone is having any problems with flavour?

When I got the Sophia, I was a little over-excited and ended up burning the pre-installed coil, so swapped that out for one of the ready-made "medium" resistance coils w/ ceramic. No problems there... all connected, trimmed, primed and slapped in just fine. However, using the slim tank for the atty itself or my AGR+ tank, I get plenty of vapour but inconsistent throat hit and next to no flavour. I've been through three tanks with a different flavour each time, and just not getting what I need from it. I terms of taste, it's more in line with a crappy CE clearo or Protank (I couldn't get on with the Protank's airy draw and heavily muted flavour).

I love the control, flooding is non-existent. It's a wonderful piece of work, but I just can't taste my juice! Obviously I could start rebuilding coils and using cotton wicks etc, but one would assume that the pre-made coils for the device would give an inkling of flavour themselves!

Quite frustrated... just need to know if anyone else found this issue and was able to sort it out, or whether I'm best just selling the Sophia on and going back to punching holes in unpredictable, flood-prone but tasty cartos. :(

My previous post can be ignored, here. :)

Managed to sort it out with the help of the massive "By Leo" thread... problem resolved by trimming the wicks on the new head right in line with the cup slits before insertion (so not using the Sophia body to slice the lower wick). Working like a dream, now. :)

Sorry Gaz. I haven't been by here in a while. Tend to check byLeo thread much more. Glad you got it. :)

I've been sort of looking over this thread after looking at the Sophia for awhile and with the issues that members are encountering with the wicks, it makes me wonder if this same trick would actually work on Protank heads - trimming the wick to be pretty much in line with the head slots and not sitting against the metal base as they always do?

Do you generally remove the extra 'flavour wicks' they stack on top? I have one EVOD / Protank left (gave them all away) and I personally put NR-R-NR micro coils with cotton wicks in mine. It's a pretty decent vape when you run them that way. Zero wicking issues and much better vapour and flavour.

That seam on the one on the left is where the two parts come apart on the right.

It's adjustable juice flow control. Notice my pic below.

Got it now Thanks; and that white thing in the space would be the wick becoming exposed as a result of the unscrewing; (nic explained it in another thread where I asked).

Ingenious.
