Their website lists several, and a couple bars.

It's probably changed (number of smoking lounges) since I went through there 4+ years ago. That 1 was crammed full of people and their "stuff", had even very limited standing room, and many were complaining that it was the only area to go smoke.

As far as bars...I didn't have time to go sit in a bar, order & down a drink, and have my smoke. At that time, you had to order something to sit in the bar and have a smoke. They'd boot anyone out who tried to do otherwise.

I've been in one of those bars, (yep, had to buy a "Coca cola") and you don't even need to SMOKE in there, you can just sit down, drink your beverage and inhale (deeply). Seriously, I am not sure I even noticed when, exactly, I put my cigarette OUT.

I kind of enjoyed it but man, smoking in airports has become such a novelty, I was just thankful I didn't have to get "nude scanned" twice more (and queue up).

My unadulterated favorite Airport is Las Vegas.... OMG, they had a sex shop there, PLUS gambling right in the airport, a Cinnabon and.... That's actually one airport you can have a GREAT time in. LOL.

I stopped smoking in my car due to occasionally having to cart my niece & nephew around. Didn't want them to have to put up with any residual smell & toxins. B4 that I smoked like a chimney in it. But it wouldve bothered me if a passenger smoked in my 'clean air' car.

Now I don't smoke, but still knowing what its like to NEED a smoke badly, I'd stop the car & let the passenger smoke their head off outside.

A few decades ago you could smoke anywhere. Every enclosed public space must have smelled like that.
I don't think so. A few decades ago, most buildings weren't sealed up like they are now. It's amazing how much difference it makes to have windows that open. I had a strong dislike for smoking rooms in hotels with non-opening windows even when I was a smoker. But I've been in smoking rooms in European hotels where the windows open (and the staff makes sure that the room is aired out on a daily basis) and it's never been a problem, even after I quit.

First thought to come to me (as a non-smoker) would be to ask before one lights up to allow me to pull over. Then (s)he can smoke as needed, just let me know a minute ahead of time. My car has never been smoked in, not even when both my wife & I were consuming a carton every 10 days or so (me a bit less). We didn't buy a car to stink it up, if that was desired, could had saved $23,500 (plus interest over the life of the loan) & kept what we had, or purchased an off-lease ride that may or may not had been smoked in.:D

Having stopped long ago (by chance 1600 days & 200 cartons of analogs), when I go into other's homes & they smoke, it doesn't bother me & won't cause me to relapse. No more than getting around others drinking, am a pain management patient & they have a zero tolerance policy towards substances, even if legal. I would like to have a drink every now & then, yet it's not only the doctor's rules, it's outright dangerous to mix alcohol with highly potent medications to treat chronic pain, so I no longer drink.:)

So while I still have a small thirst for a drink (yet refrain), not so for an analog. We don't smoke in our apartment, was against the landlord's rules when we moved here (when I was still smoking), instead I went outdoors. Whether that be in the rain with an umbrella, sub freezing temps & windy, whatever. I respected the property owners decision. However, once I started vaping, they allowed it once one walked in & thought strong coffee was brewing.:D

Bottom line being here may be your comfort level around smokers. I never had the issue, once I began vaping, was freed at last & literally gagged down my last few analogs. Too, if the smoking takes place in/on your property or theirs has a big impact, if yours, you call the shots, if theirs, you have no say. Based on what you're saying, may be good idea to get a couple of 'No Smoking' signs that attaches to the interior window with suction cups & avoid giving rides to those who smokes. On the flip side, if some of the same says the same about your vaping in their rides or home, you have little or no say in the matter.

It's your choice in your ride or home, if you feel that others smoking may cause you to have a relapse, even after they're gone, say no or offer to pull over for their break. Or because the smell will be stinky & leave residue behind, then I don't see any issue with not allowing it. You may lose a friend or two, or tick them off in the short term. On the other hand, if they're really your friends, they'll respect your decision because you stood up for your rights. Just be prepared for the same one(s) to not allow vaping in their rides/homes & respect their wishes as well, what may seem to be proper etiquette in one situation may be the opposite in another.:)

My car is older, and I smoked in it for many years before I quit. ( yes I fell off the wagon lately, but I still am not smoking in the car). I wouldn’t have a problem with if they asked first. I’m saying that because I don’t have an ashtray. Something would need to be sorted for that first. I absolutely hate when people flick out the window! Even just the ash. My previous car had burns all over the back seats from the fire or the whole .... blowing back in. Not on my leather seats, ya don’t!

I smoked for decades been vaping 6.5 years. Smoke does not bother me as long as it is not blown in my face.

Etiquette aside - I think that first, you should stick up for yourself. If you do not want people smoking in your car tell them before they get in. Sounds like you were in the car so maybe your friend was dying for a cig since most airports are non-smoking. I would have told them that since I stopped I cannot stand the smell so there is no smoking in the car. I also would have offered to let them finish their cig, and if it was a long drive, I'd offer to stop somewhere so they could get out and smoke.

As far as etiquette a smoker is always supposed to ask, "Do you mind if I smoke?" Maybe because your friend knows you he just assumed it would be OK. Since it was not OK for you and since the person did not ask it is up to you to set the ground rules.

One more thing - I know that if I was still a smoker and a friend of mine would not let me smoke in the car yet they were vaping - I'd be irritated.

If people are smoking in your car, just bring a small fire extinguisher with you. When you get blasted in the face once or twice with that, you learn not to smoke in someone elses car. That's how grandma taught me not to smoke in her car. Uncle Jim's method was much less pleasant.

Nashville Airport has a small but nice smoking lounge but you have to pay $5.00 to go inside. I was still smoking then so it was worth it since I had to wait 2 hours for my flight

When we bought our new used car we made sure everyone knew it was nonsmoking. None of our friends had a problem with that and we didn't have to keep repeating it.

After I quit smoking cigarette smoke took on an objectionable odor. When you smoke your senses are dulled.

Right before I retired my company put a no smoking policy in place for company vehicles. Since we took them home at night I was able to turn the fan on and crack a window occasionally and get by with it. Since I quit smoking shortly after retirement I've owned two new Ram 1500's that have never been smoked in.

It's nice to get in a vehicle and smell the newness of fabric, leather, and carpet instead of ashtray! I vape in all our vehicles and there's no detectable residue from vaping the juices I like. My wife has a remarkable sense of smell and she doesn't notice anything either.

Well if you burn most anything, it's going to stink. Tobacco does a pretty great job at "changing" from its original smell to "stink" but so does anything, really. I mean, our house stunk when my husband partially burned it down (ironically, via cigarette). They had to ozone the place after sealing it up and removed everything for a thorough cleaning and etc. It smelled pretty bad, though.

I enjoy smell of tobacco. It's ashtrays that stink.

    +1:thumbs:

We have a .... can for when guest comes over & I empty it every couple of months, not even the cat litter used in there to put butts in gets rid of that stink. Now that's bad & I don't use cheap litter.:D

I noticed this from back in my analog days, while the smoke didn't bother me, cleaning the ash tray, especially of a vehicle, smelled raunchy.

I agree with @Allen Traveler that the tobacco in itself smells good, recall riding as a child through Durham, NC, then one of the largest tobacco producing cities in the US (founded by the same people as Duke University), oh what a sweet aroma.:)

But ashtrays, no matter how disguised, reeks. Today, I'd have to wear a dust mask to clean the ashtray of a vehicle.:(

Window down...I'll usually allow it, but not chain smoking and .... stays by the window til it's out. If kids are present, sorry...we can stop when you need one. If I know I might be with a friend that smokes, I'll hold onto a plastic soda bottle for butts. I vape as if "I" were smoking( some people are inconsiderate no matter what), trying not to blow clouds at other people, usually outside or in my car, ask if someone minds if not outdoors or in small areas.
