I don't think the younger people vape as much as the 30 to 50 year olds. The 30 to 50 year age group are feeling the effects of years of smoking! By my age group..(50 to 60) you must have had to keep up with the computer world to even find E-cigs!

This is a lot what I expected. I have tried to get younger people in my life to vape, but many of them still believe that they can quit whenever they want to, even though they have failed at this before. They also are not feeling the effects yet. I don't know how interested I would have been had I not been over 50 when I discovered vaping. My friends around my age all want to vape although many of them want it to be easier. It's so easy today compared with a couple of years ago with just little cartridges and carrying around bottles of juice and tons of batteries, that I always laugh. Vaping was a challenge then and I loved it. Of course, I also love the way I can now fill up the juice bottle of one of my Reos, pop in a battery, and be gone for the day with only a spare couple of 14500 batteries with me. With a 18650, I don't even need extra batteries.

I know vaping is worth it to me. The young adults I know believe that they still have plenty of time to vape later if they decide to do so. The trend seems to be after 35 and more in the 40-55 group. I think the age would go older, but I'm not sure that enough folks over 50 even know about it. I guess AARP hasn't done an article about vaping yet. lol.

most of the younger crowd has been like, "I've tried it and I didn't like it." My reply would be, "where did you buy it?" Most have said from the gas station. "Well DERP that's why! I love my pv and this [points to my pv] doesn't come from a gas station." Can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

Im just turned 18 i bought one from a stall in a shopping center when i was 17 to my dismay i never got anywhere with it cause it broke and was generally a pile of s*** a few months after that ordeal i turned 18 then did some research and bought a tornado tank. Its honestly my pride and joy and i would be lost without it... yeah i have to admit flavourwise it was like meh so i got some dual coil cartos... perfect. Im currently working on a long box mod (my first) ill post pictures up if i have the privileges to. It was just like the transition i made from cigs to rollies. Happy vaping guys

my granma died of cancer spreading around her body as a result of lung cancer 3 weeks ago. she'd smoked analogue cigs+cigars for around 65 years, i promised mum i'd quit as i'd been smoking roll-ups for about 10 years, and after granma's death, it upset her. so its not so much a fashion thing, as i'm still quite a shy vaper, but as a 29 year old I understand its gonna be better this way than waiting till much later in life, when the benefits could be too little too late. have not touched cigarettes since granma went, and am really happy and feeling better on the ol' vape! hope more people can turn from the dark side...am working on my brother, but he's in the army, so its tricky...

How old were you when you started vaping? I'm curious whether those who find vaping appealing fall into any particular age group.

I don't know if that's necessarily the right question re: "...those who find vaping appealing fall into any particular age group." At this stage in the very young life of the technology I think it's more a matter of "how old were you when you found out about vaping?" I would have started 20 years ago to quit smoking if vaping had been around at all. I only started 04/2011 because it was the first time I tripped across any mention about it. E-cigs are still too much of a well hidden secret where you don't know what you are looking for, unless you know what you are looking for.

But this will still be very interesting to see where the numbers on the chart fall, especially where the largest age group is.

I agree that e-cigs are still too new to define the predominate age bracket when most people start. Also, your scale is biased. You MUST have an under 18 bracket. I know we would like to pretend no one vapes underage, but that is the mindset that let me get away with smoking since i was twelve, no one noticed what i was doing because no one expected to see a kid smoking.
