If it had primer, it may have needed blowing out, and a bit of introducing the juice to get the primer flavor out.
New attys take a bit of breaking in to get the right flavor... as long as you haven't burn't it by continually vaping with not enough juice, it should improve.
OK guys... I have only tried a Joye 510 and the atty that came with my xl and they both taste like metal to me. This is why I am afraid to spend ant more to try out any more different ones. Does anyone else have this same issue or am I just a weirdo?

Wierdo!

Kidding.

Sounds like you need to give it more juice. I am about getting the hang of feeding attys after about a month so have had that issue.

The trouble is the balance between over feeding and under. The worse trouble is it changes Atty to Atty lol

Good news is that it is a VMod so unless you REALLY flood it you will be good. By the way if you do flood it just hold the mod vertical and gently push the bottle a few times until you hear air as the juice is sucked back into the bottle.

Gone on rather too long again. More juice.

uke, you're a lousy squonker? I do alright... in a pinch. ;) If you would like to invite me to Hawaii to give you squonk lessons, I most likely would not say no... ;)

You said you invest in good drip tips. Have you ever used a glass tip? I absolutely love them and give them a plus 1.

Tat, sweets, I'm so glad to hear your XL is on the way home! I'm so happy with mine now. I have a new appreciation for the VMOD at this point in time. I see it as being a "go to" and quite reliable. Yeah, Brian. Yeah, Vapage!

muzichead, the "plating on the barrel" is an easily removed sticker, btw.

Dana, I'm still thinking that your attys are just not wet enuf. It's been suggested to blow out any primer, but then it's also a good idea to really soak them with juice for a day (or so). Let us know if we can suggest anything further.

You are not a weird-o. Not at all.

A clean would fix the draw issues or should.

Cannot say with any certainty as the one Hybrid I have is in the process of drying after cleaning and won't be used again for a week or so.

I am over 24 hours into using the Aero and the spitting has nearly ceased apart from when I overfeed. The flavour and vapour are now on par with the 306 however not exceeding it. I actually spent last night dripping the 306 with a ProVari Mini enjoying the hell out of it. Was up till 3am though as a result lol

Back to the Aero. It is a good solid atty but as you can tell so far I have not been blown away by it. Was hoping I would and that it would let me bypass the 357 however it hasn't. Strange most of my expectations have been met in vaping and while there is certainly nothing wrong with the Aero I find myself wanting to search for more.

Guess I will be making that 357 order and I think a Bridgeless 306 as I have been wowed by the normal one.

I keep the Aero (which is 1.5) on the XL all the time. The i06 1.8 is on the Reo, and I'd have one on the XL too if not for the Aero. The 357's are on my VV's just to monitor the resistance fluctuations and voltages used.
Because I'm finicky and so is the 357 imo, I will only occasionally use them on a 3.7 mod. Right now i have one LR 1.5 357 on an eGo; in any case i think it better to drip just the right amount of juice in it vs. squonking... overfeeding these is not kosher imo.

I was hoping the i06 and the Aero and the other "good" attys i have and continue to try will come close to the 357 in value, and they do; imo either of those give a more consistent vapor production. The killer value of the 357 is TASTE..... just try using something else for a while after vaping the 357 ... for a couple hours or a day even, and take a toke on a broken-in 357.... the taste is incredible. I find that chain vaping 357's tends to numb me out to their value after a while, so I will switch up frequently.

I got my gun metal Vmod XL in the mail today. I'm rocking it with an AW IMR 18650 and a 1.5 ohm Joye 306. I've only been using it for about 2 hours, but so far all I can say is, "Wow, this is a great little mod!" It's not nearly as big as I thought it was going to be, which is good. It's got a lot more heft to it also, which is good. It works and works well.

Hello again all , got my v-mod xl today and its awesome , i am so so so surprised as to how light it is and so comfy to hold .
i did go ahead and install the kick in it too . I did find the draw a bit tight so i went ahead and used a dremil to cut the " cone holder and got rid of the blue washer too . ( i would not advise you do this , i only did this cause i like a reealllllyyyy liggghtttt draw ) .
another thing that i am not use to is tilting the mod to squonk ( am a reo grand user ) so i found a simple fix for that too , took a 18 gauge syringe ( i would have prefered a 16 gauge ) and used wifees nail file to trim the plastic bit a little , after which i cut just a tad of the needle itself and inserted it into the bottle ... yipeeeee :) it squonks just fine now .
i will try to load a few picks if i can .

am loving the xl ..
hope my post helps .

wishing you well
warm regards
Sahil .

1) Kicked Reo grand , you can also see the needle in the bottle , this takes care of th fact that you do not have to tilt the mod to squonk ..
2) the top of the 10 mil bottle with the needle in it ( do remember to file the plastic on the needle a little to make it fit nice and proper )
3) the 10 mil bottle witt he needle in it , cut the needle a bit from the bottom if you find it too long .
4) the adapter / part that holds the cone and has the blue washer on it , this has been cut by me to increase the airflow and it works wonders regarding the same , AND NO I DONT HAVE ANY LEAKING ISSUES while using a cartomizer until now thankfully :)

Wow, right on! How do you get the Kick to work in the Vmod XL?

Dear Tricci , here you go mate , took just a small thin ( relatively ) wire and connected one end to the spring on the kick and the other to the metal ground that runs down the side of the mod to the negative ( bottom spring ) , hope that helps mate .

happy vaping
warm reagards
