I had to file the end of my shell down about 2mm to get the cone to thread onto the collar. There was a slight gap between the chassis and shell on the top, flat part. A block of wood with 180 grit sandpaper and some circular motions with the flat bottom of the case (chassis removed) helped tremendously.

Scot, you and I are mirroring one another in experiences lately. Altho I have not had the chimney cause the cone to pop off, I have had the chimney stay inside the cone on several occasions. The first time it happened, I thought it was stuck, and I tried to push it out. Please don't do that, if this happens to you! Let me be the only doofus around here, ok? It is screwed in and will not PUSH out. ahhahaha!

And I also found that my precious dripping attys don't work on the XL. I assumed it was because they're sealed. But that's not the case as I'm using a sealed center pin LR 510 (LiquidXpress atty) and it's feeding fine. Very fine, indeed.

Lastly, I have the same spacer purchased from COV and it works perfectly on my 5v batt. I stuck it on with a dab of clear nail polish. I sure could use another one if anyone has dozens lying around the house...

Also, just a reminder to those that have not yet purchased a VMOD XL, or for those thinking about another one: Vapage is taking pre orders on the next shipment, and you can use the 25% code now. Once the new shipment comes in Vapage will go back to regular pricing.

And hi vapure! Nice to see you back on the threads.

Lmao.... Kat... I used my pinky to just unscrew the collar out....

Are those the cobalt blue atties.... Vaped nice but killed 3 of them in a matter of days... The smart vape ones for the price are the best out there IMHO just can't get the damn things to work on the XL...

Those spacers are nice and not sure if the guys at COV can count or are generous with them I order 6 and got a dozen...lol

Wow, feel like tossing one of the extra 6 into an envelope for me? You can consider it my birthday present. ;)

Yes, they are the pretty cobalt blue ones. I love the vape, but yes, found they have a short life span.

The SV dripping attys are sensational. I heard about them at a local Vape party from a vapor of 3 years who said he had tried EVERY atty out there. It was a good recommendation.

So, here's your mission, you who are far more adept than me. Let's figure out how to use them on the XL.

Hey Kat... I have missed your funny comments lately... As I have been reading this now 97 page long thread I have found myself laughing my but off at some of your more simple mistakes...lol

I am in love with my VmodXL 100%... It works like a champ and has never once leaked. Wish I could say the same for the little brother but I can't, that dang thing did nothing but leak..lol I was bummed, but when I heard Brian was fixing the feed system and all I was sure he would come up with something that would work perfectly... :) ANd he did:)
I can't believe how great this new system works and I love the 18650 batt being in it too seems to have more umph than the 14500. I am so stoked to find out if the Kick will work our VmodXLs, that is going to be awsome....

AG.... Man you are the most informative person I have run into on the ecf you rock and thanks for all the help you give to everyone... I remember what it was like to be a newbie to mods and vaping and it is nice to have folks like you and others to ask questions to... Heck without you I may have never found the Vmod to begin with...lol YOU ROCK!!!!!

Now, I'll grant ya I'm not vaping only the XL, due to testing some new stuff (great $12 MadVapes tanks), but say a good 1/3 to 1/2 of my chain-vaping time, on a 2.2 ohm Hybrid Uni, and I'm going into my third day with my first charged Vapage 18650. I keep expecting it to fold, and it just keeps going and going. My "3000 mAh" FartFires were only good for a few hours max. These blue batteries are amazing, they're long and fat and great, if anyone's ordering and wondering, it's worth getting some for sure. I was going to try an AW IFR as soon as I have to swap, but the darned blue wonder won't stop!

Now just wait one little minute.

Isn't AG the one who makes simple mistakes and KD the informative one?

*I always get those two confused.*

That sounds about right to me. :p

If it wasn't for all of the vapers who came before me & the exchange of information on the ECF, I wouldn't know half of what I do. (Well that & the exorbitant amount of money I've spent on "research".) I learn more every day I'm here. :)

Hey AG,
I saw a video of you with your Almighty GLV3. I am curious, how would you compare the GLV3 to the VmodXL? In terms of vapor quality, device built quality, ease of use etc?
Mod comparison can be tricky. I have many mods. Some get used, while others not so much. What's great for me may not suit others. There are so many varying tastes. Do I sound like I'm hedging a bit? Well...I am. ;)

The Vmod XL has raised the bar for bottom feed devices for all of the reasons discussed in this thread.

The GLV-3 is a fine mod, but it didn't become an "all-day" mod for me. The main drawbacks being the size & weight. It's rather large & one swing of it could knock out Mike Tyson. The 5v resisted headcap & tube is a beast though. I still have it & use it, but not as much as my Vmods.

That's about as diplomatic as I can be. :nun:
How was the show? :p

Thanks AG, that is the most diplomatic response I have read :D From what I understand, the GLV3 is so cool that you cant beat it down, but the Vmod seems to be the next gen of bottom feeders. I dont think the Reo lovers would be so diplomatic about their favorite vape :D

This is enough to convince me to get the Vmod though. I have not tried a bottom feeder yet, and I am now convinced, the VmodXL is where I would like to start. Now I am still a newbie compared to most of you people here, and am quite puzzled about what atty / carto will work best for me. I think I will stick to 3.7v and a 18650 battery. What kind of atty / carto do you recommend? I intend to order some extras with the XL, as I dont think its going to be feasible for me to order supplies regularly from vapage (US to India shipping costs and time). So I will ultimately have to resort to whats available at Healthcabin or any other Chinese site. I am guessing either 510 cartos or 510 attys? Whats the difference when you use a carto in a bottom feeder as compared to an atty? Do you have to squeeze the bottle to refill less often?

The XL will ship with a 2.2ohm Silo carto & a 2.2ohm Universal Hybrid atty. These will be great for some, but I like my vape a little warmer.

I use the 1.8ohm Silo Cartos & 1.5ohm Bottom Feeder Hybrid Atomizers from Vapage. Other than that, I'm using the XL with a Joye 1.5ohm LR306 with a regular 306 DT. (I've never been a fan of regular 510 atomizers for some reason.) The 306 is where it's at (for me). It's 510 threaded, so no problem with compatibility.

I'm not a carto user, but cartos hold a decent amount of juice, so you should be able to vape a carto longer between feedings. To feed the carto squeeze & dry pull to top it off. It's pretty simple really.

Don't forget to use the discount code: happy2012 when you make your order. It'll save you 25%. :)
