That o-ring has popped out on a some, but it doesn't seem to effect anything. Katdarling had hers come out too, but she told me hers still doesn't leak or anything.

You could try putting it back in. It may not have fully seated when it was first installed.

This post just did not "read" right!!

Thanks.

Yes, I had it removed yesterday, and I have not seen any leaks

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

Hahahhahahaaha! Nasty boys. Love it on a Sunday nite!

Ostinato, dry burn at your own risk. It is helpful AND harmful all at the same time. It will clean off the coil, but will diminish the life span of the atomizer. It's a very tempting practice and you will read a whole lot of pros and cons here, on ECF. I'm not sure that's a very helpful answer. Atomizers, like cartos, are in fact, disposables.

Cool! I'll grab a few bottom coils to see how they work out. I'm pretty sure that I've tested a Kanger before this, and it tasted burnt on the second day, so out it went. Thanks for the info. AG!

Never had good taste with the Kangers. The "resurrectors"/"rejuvenators", being 1.7 ohm single vertical coil cartos, seem to hold up longer than the Boge 2.0 and both have great taste and feed well on the XL. Horizontals don't burn, but for some reason I've never gotten as good/strong a flavor with any horizontal coil cartos. Maybe the smaller isolated contact area for the coil is both the reason for their longer life and lesser flavor.

Ostinato, I did an alcohol wash and dry burn on my 2.2 Uni Hybrid that came with the XL and it took a long time for it to recover, I thought it was gone. A lot changes when you treat it like that, it doesn't like it. It's like Piglet now, happy to be cruddy again, and vaping fine. When it starts to get impacted, I just squirsh enough so it's swimming in juice, and let it sit a while. Bingo, Piglet is happy again. It's a conspiracy. You need more than one to cycle, so they can rest and cool down.

I think that O-ring creates a chamber that's used in some of the many possible feed modes, so taking it out may not cause obvious problems, but some atties may not feed as well down the line.

Ah, so THAT's the .306 you were referring to? Unusual caliber.

There is something "field strip" about the way the XL breaks down and snaps back together, especially the silver one. Reminds me of a S&W 59 somehow.

Field stripping an XL is like tearing down a Glock. Just a few pieces create an awesome device, which fires every time. :toast:

Hmm -- so that's what I've been doing!

Good reason for multiple Vmod's too.:p

Just got my Vmod XL (finally!). First impressions:

- No instructions! This seems like a big oversight to me.
- Fully assembled with battery: kinda heavy. Not a big deal as I plan on it being a home device.
- Well-made: this thing looks cool and is NOT a piece of junk at all.

I'm not exactly sure how to use this thing. But I am getting hits and it is impressive. Vapage's Red juice isn't half bad. Here's how I am using it, please correct me if I am wrong:

- tilt so the mouthpiece is facing down
- give a slight squeeze
- tilt upright
- dry pull
- push button and vape

Questions: do I need to hold it at a certain angle? Horizontal? Is vertical OK? About how long does a "squeeze" last?

Even with me not being sure I am doing this right, the hits are good, although not tons of vapor. I like the pull resistance. I can already tell I am going to love this thing! Once the regular Vmod gets the updated tech, I may have to get one of those for a portable unit.

Go to the very first post in this thread AG shows how to tilt and squeeze (Video), it works like a charm. The squeeze is very light.

If you need instructions, Vapage's site has them. I do agree they should be in the box!

@karmakatie - thanks! The Vapage instructions page is tough to find, here's the link if anyone else needs it: KB Results

I guess I was using it properly. Seems like there's some learning to be done as you use it. So far, this thing is great — the hits are closer to an analog hit. I'm actually wondering how I can get cooler hits out of it! Need to do some ECF research.

I love the idea of not having to mess with carts that hold so little and are tough to determine when they are done. Replacing the atomizers every so often is much better. Of course, this thing stands out like a sore thumb so prob tough to use in public. I can always say its an asthma inhaler I guess!

Wish my Halo juice arrived today as it was supposed to, want to try the same juice in the XL as I am using in the Halo G6 to make a direct compare (and for better flavor).

Definitely getting the smaller one once the y update the internals with the new tech found in the XL.

YW! Cooler hit can be achieved by using a standard resistance carto or atty ie 2.5-3 ohms, I like it hot myself ;) The XL defintely attomizes the vapor much better/hotter, which gives more heat and better throat hit!

Yes the hotter atty is way closer to an analog hit for sure. I'll give this a go for a few days, might make a difference once I have better juice. The Vapage Red is kind of weird. And they sent me 24mpg, thought I ordered 18mg bottle. Getting a buzz from this thing!

Forgot to add the closer you get to 3 ohms the cooler also a carto will give a cooler hit the just using an atty. Don't go over 3 ohms for a 3.7v device, the resistance would be to high then.

Doesn't a cartomizer negate the bottom-feeder aspect of this thing? I need to do more research now that I have it in-hand.

I haven't tried that flavor from Vapage, but I do like the Flue Cured, First Strike, and Turbo Fog.
They remind me of Halo juices.

You can fill cartos on the fly with the XL.

Ah, so the carts just get topped off from the squeeze. Cool, good to know.

I'll have to try other Vapage juice then. So far I like Tribeca & Torque from Halo — what would compare from Vapage? I'm also not 100% sure I didn't get some juice in the mouthpiece on the XL. I wiped it down but no difference. I figured trying the same juice on the XL and the Halo G6 will be easier to determine differences in the vapor, hit, etc.

Thanks for all the help on the XL AG, glad I picked one up when it was on deep discount! Any indication when the smaller one will be updated with the new tech? This thread is way too long to read all of it :)
