Just introducing myself. I'm a recent recruit to the world of the Vmod...as of about 3 weeks ago. I LOVE my Vmod XL. So far all I have is the gun metal (that came with the kit) and the Burel shells. Now I know what Cracks looks like...I'm all in.

Crazy question. I prefer cartomizers (yes, I'm trying to use the hybrid AMG atomizer from the kit...but meh...it's okay, but not flicking my Bic that much). The Silos are good, but kind of expensive. So I've been using super shorty cartos from other vendors (2ohm...lower is too hot for me). They are great...but so far I am not getting a real long life out of them. Not bad. Not good. Anyway...I was using anodized aluminum drip tips (which were my favorite with carto tanks on just about all my equipment) and then decided yesterday to try the plastic tips that came with the Vmod kit. For some reason my current super shorty is actually working and tasting good longer.

Any chance there's a connection there? Could the metal drip tip be keeping the metal cartomizer too hot and prematurely making the carto taste weird/die?

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

I am of the school that different drip tips DO actually change the taste of the vape! But when I said that to someone 'in the know'... I got laughed at.

But I'm pretty used to that reaction with most things I say and do. Can't quite figure out why. Yet.

sonicdsl, you've got an entourage of credits below your name and you're doing a test post? Haven't seen much of you since the Max thread. Hope all's well. Congrats on moderator status!

Cnew and fourthrok, welcome to VMODia! :D

Hope our golden lady of Cali is sitting.

I agree with her!

More pronounced in my genys but yes different tips make a difference. Apertures at the bottom change air flow and draw.

Hadn't noticed so much with cartos but then I don't really use them.

Could never quite get to grips with Silos but used Boges and Resurrectors a bit before falling under the atty spell.

In fact have been thinking about breaking out a couple of cartos but why when the 1.5 Shifu is rather magnificent.

Hey we are all different.

That is the joy of this device it has limitless options.

Anyway nice to see new folks appearing here. As posted yesterday I have been in VModia for over a year and don't regret a second. First post Ego PV so it has a lot of blame to shoulder!

Even swapped to a Reo once. That lasted a whole weekend before I got another VMod.

Nope ... was left wishing I had lol

Not bashing Reo's they are great devices and obviously truck proof, moot point as I don't own a truck. Even more moot as I have yet to place any device under anyeans of transportation. I have that much will power!

Just not a VMod. Think it was the case of getting used to the VMod feed system and every other bottom feeder design isn't a VMod.

So...speaking of feed systems...what's everybody's fav method of squonking? The Vapage manual talks about tipping down, waiting for bubbles then turning upright and giving a squeeze. I find that just angling the nose down a bit and lightly giving a little squeeze...listening for a wee gurgle, does the trick better. What's everyone else do? Anyone set the Vmod up for blind squonking?

I'm thinking the plastic drip tips do help. Since the super shorty cartos are so tiny, it doesn't take much to get 'em really hot. Having a netal tip on them sure won't help with equalizing the heat between puffs. Especially if one is a heavy chain vaper like me!

Shifu is master in Chinese. Brian the VMod designer is called the Vaping Shifu in China.

As for feeding I rarely squonk the bottle relying on gravity to feed the atty. If you hold the VMod at a 45 degree angle perhaps a little less you can literally empty a bottle chain vaping.

When refilling the bottle I will invert the mod looking for bubbles once I see them I am good.

It is a learning curve and we all do things differently.just a case of finding what works best for you.

Hey everyone!
I'm the proud new owner of a VMOD XL! Just got it today in the mail. I gave her a bath per the directions and set it up. So far, after 3 hours of vaping I am very impressed. No problems getting the silo to work at all. I primed it, tilted it, and gave it a "squonk" ; pure vaping pleasure! Wow, this thing is truly amazing. I got it in black but I also got the camo and the burl covers. She's wearing the camo now and she looks good enough to vape ;-)
I may have to put all my other toys away. I think I'm in love.
