I have been using Boge carto's on some of my Vmods and love the way they last so long. I think the gravity feeding is a good way to vape a carto. I like Boges 2.0 are better than the vapage carto's in fact i discovered that short carto's of any kind are not what i want. ymmv
I've been making some (to me) interesting observations lately about my atomizers/cartomizers. Thought I'd share while on this topic. Being the end of the month I'm having my usual panic of "How can I make things last longer? Do I have enough? blah...blah". I worry a lot. Anyway, here's what I am finding out. It includes my other bottom feeder so I hope that's okay.
The "Shifu" pro spec slant coils are by FAR (imho) the best on the Vmod, but the Silo does very well also. For awhile I was buying up all the Smok super shorty cartos I could find. The slightly longer ones worked pretty good but the overall lifespan wasn't that great. The ones that are REALLY short (and there is no way to know which you are going to get...the usual Smok lack of consistency) don't do that well at all. They'll do in a pinch if there's nothing else...but they aren't that reliable and certainly don't have any durability to speak of.
My thing is that the shifus are pretty expensive. They vape amazing and they last very very well...but it's still painful to pay that much for something that may or may not last a week to 10 days (for ME...mind you! I vape 10ml average a day at 3.5mg. nic....85% PG and clear menthol at 5% flavor in DIY) The Ciscos specs are the same price. So I do use the cartos to try to "stretch" things a bit. So my stop gap...other than the super shorties is to use regular standard cartos to try to pace my shifus some. Other than the Silos, so far as I can tell, the regular standard Smok ones at 2ohm seem pretty durable and they have another side benefit (more on that later). The Boge 2ohm seem a harder draw and I feel like they gurgle more than I like. I love Boge in my carto tanks, but not so much on the Vmod or Bogger. I also tried Kanger because it seemed like the theory of the horizontal coil on the bottom would be ideal on the bottom feeder. Yes...it does very well at first, and the flavor is very good. But some reason for ME the Kanger seems to clog up quicker and the vapor gets reduced. I have no idea why. Maybe because I chain vape so bad.
Anyway..I've concluded that the shifu really IS the best bet for me on the Vmod, with the referenced cartos good for pacing the atomizers out for longer life. I try to soak my shifus in Vodka (or PGA) overnight from time to time and let them dry. That seems to help a bit. Dry burning was a disaster for me...near killed two of my shifus, and I won't do it again (more on my salvage on those later, too).
Now to the second part: I also have the Bogger. My attempts with RBA have been dismal failures (could be my juice just doesn't lend itself to RBA, and I'm not about to vape a different juice!). I have found that the Smok regular cartos work well on the Bogger. Also the Cisco spec 306 LR (2ohm) atomizers. BUT...the shifus also work well on them! When a shifu has been used a long time, and cleaned several times and is not working that great on the Vmod anymore (but still firing okay) I can put it on the Bogger and get some more life out of it! Even the ones I dry burned and near ruined! Cool! May have something to do with the airflow on the Bogger that helps revive the shifu a little. Or it doesn't fire as hot (efficient) as the Vmod. Not sure.
Anyway..that's my "findings" so far. I'm going to eek out every teensy bit of life out of my atomizers and cartomizers I possibly can...as long as I can. So having the Bogger as a back up is a very good thing (besides, it's so PURDY!) Especially now I am pretty sure RBA is out of the running for me. When things stop working good on my beloved Vmod...sometimes I can get a bit more use out of it on the Bogger. I like that.
