Yep went right to it. Not to interested in cartos for this type set up. I don't even need the squish squeeze at all. Tilt couple little micro squeezes while its tilted and its awesome! I work at a vape shop on Saturdays so I'm gonna get a couple of all the attys they have and give them a shot.

Must admit I tried the silo when I first got mine and didn't really like it, it's now lurking in my bits and pieces box, with nova bases, attys waiting to be re-built etc.
The hybrid atty is superb though, great flavour and clouds of vapour. You'll have to let us know how you get on with other atty types :D

Ok so I have been reading for a few hours now on this thread and the original one....... phew it's a lot. I'm A pretty experienced vapor vv/vw, mechs, RDA, gennys etc. I just ordered the XL a la carte for $69.99 as I already have a bunch of batteries and an i4 charger. I have searched and there is soooo much info and discussion it is hard to actually find any answers. So here it goes.

1. What is the best atty to use? Not sure I'm overly interested in cartos simply for the fiber fill. But open to suggestions
2. Seems to me that the atty has to be long in order for a drip tip to work. What drip tips do you guys use?
3. Is it worth it to put an 18ga needle in the bottle for true squonk or just do the tilt dance?
4. Was thinking about using a kick and 18500 but heard the battery life was not so good. I have pretty good life on my mechs running just an 18490 or 18650 at 1.0 ohm. I don't start to notice much of a drop until around 3.5 or so. Whats the best battery set up?

Any other cliff notes would be greatly appreciated. Sorry to be that guy asking a question when I am sure it is answered, but I'm not sure I can make it through 500+ pages. Thanks in advance!.

Oh and i used coupon code T823V to get the XL a la carte down to $69.99. I think it's good until Friday

No reason to kick if you get the 1.5ohm slant hybrid. The one that came with my vmod xl kit was the older version and stunk...
Tilt and tap,( bubble) upright and squeeze. I like the ability to draw out if I flood it..
I squeezed protected 3400 Panasonic's in mine and vape heavy. Get a day and a half before I feel the need to swap..
I modded a squid rda to work and works awesome...

Used the 510/510 adapter from myfreedomsmokes.com

another one from a different vendor did not work..

Hmm...
I'm a bit contrary tonight and shall disagree.
I like it right where it's at.
I want everybody else to go on the long hunt like I did to find info on this jewel.
You know.
Like a treasure hunt.
And I am selfish.
I want there to be plenty of supplies available when I need them.
I don't want the word to get out.
I like wondrous secrets.
I love the V-mod and the V-modians.
I don't want to share.
So there. (She said, tongue in cheek!)
:p (hee-hee)

That's how I feel about fast tech. I wish people would stop telling others about it..

Well my Vmod mini spent the first full day at work with me today and she behaved herself :D

Most of the vapers at work use ego/ce4/nova set ups, so I had to give a demo to at least 20 different interested parties. They all couldn't believe how well the Vmod works and how compact the design is. Think I've probably gone up the ranks a bit today at work

Don't worry, I didn't tell anyone where I got her from, I don't want all the guys at work buying out all the hybrid attys.

Lol. I see I'm not the only one who gets a bit contrary!
But, seriously...go ahead and share.
Let's be honest here.
ANYTHING (and in particular our "V") that keeps us and anyone else away from the stinkies, is a VERY, VERY, GOOD and WONDERFUL thing.

That is two important features for me...
Size and Shape.

The vMods fit nice in hand and fit easily in a pocket. The rounded edges are smooth, the units are lightweight and much less conspicuous than a round tube mod. When I carried mine ( the XL) around at the state beach today where I work...it just looks like a cell phone or a radio. No one even gives it a second look. The vMod 2.0 is so small, it just fits in my hand hidden...YMMV. Yes, it's plastic and aluminum, that's why it's so light. It's durable enough, and w/o the weight and big tube size...I can have a XL and a 2.0 in my shorts pockets w/o looking conspicuous...important enough for a guy working at a beach !

I have mechanicals and bigger round tube mods...
But I just can't (and won't) be seen carrying them around.
They stay at home !

Sooooo I am officially in love with my XL. Took it on a road trip this weekend and it performed great the whole time. So simple to use and great vapor production.

I hung around my local vape store so much they gave me a p/t job. While I was working on Saturday I grabbed all the different attys they carry that would fit into the XL. While the Hybrid from Vapage was decent out of the box. The flavor just wasn't there for me. Vapor production was good but flavor lacked. I ended up really liking the Bauway 306 at 1.8 ohms. Vapor is great just the same as the hybrid but the flavor is greatly improved. Almost on par w/ an RBA. I did try a few others but the results varied and will take some tinkering with the battery post and possibly some actual dripping while on the XL to get the ball rolling. When I have the time to give those attys some more attention I will report back. In the mean time its 306 for me!

So you know, the hybrid that ships with the vmod xl is an" old" style 2.0 and does not compare to the new slant style you purchase separate. I recommend the 1.5. Long time users of Cisco atomizers have said the new vapage hybrids are every bit as good and a quarter the price...

Yup -- lots like the 1.5 and there are many Shi-fu AKA Slant Coil Spec Vapage Hybrid Atty fans. I can't be sure, but I've heard the kits now have the Slant Coil Spec in 2.0. Plus, some say they take a bit of break in time. Some say. I'm good after the first pop and or gurgle.

306 was very popular with the Vmod pre Shi-fu. If you look at the intro video (first post) -- that's what is used there.

FINALLY installed the Kick in my XL, and now I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner. I loved my VMod before (I use 1.5 ShiFu hybrids on it), but I rather like the additional safety features, and the lack of voltage drop off. First hit is the same as the last hit!

Are you using 18500 or the kick under the bottle?

Hmm maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. Not really liking the 2 ohm in general I prefer a bit more vapor and some what hotter. I'll order some hybrid 1.5 when I order some extra bottles (when they come back in stock) and some o-rings. I switchd over to a smok 510 and it performs just as good as the 306. Looking like the Vmod is just a champ with pretty much anything.

More admiring looks today.
Stopped at the bus station, I had 10 minutes before I was due back out. As it was a nice sunny day for a change, stepped off the bus to soak up some rays and pulled out my Vmod. Took a couple of good long draws and noticed 3 guys watching me from inside the bus station. I was palming the Vmod, so they must have thought I was a magician producing vapour out of thin air
So I made sure they were watching and gave a quick tilt and squonk. I could see the looks of admiration, but they didn't come and ask what this cool looking device was - probably a bit shy :D

If you hadn't already realised, I drive buses for a living.

Well I put the 2.0 back on and it has great vapor just no flavor at all. I did notice with the other 510 and 306's I tried that there seems to be a small leak somewhere. When I pull the atty out there is juice on it. I saw the Vapage hybrid and Carto both have o-rings on them and the other attys do not. Wish this hybrid would kick out some flavor as it does have the best hit

Uh -- take those o rings off the atty and carto. They aren't needed with the XL or Vmod2. And, that's a sign that you do not have the Shi-fu AKA Pro Slant Coil Spec Atty. Darn, I thought all shipped now were with the newer and much better atty.

Here's the pic:

VPA-046-050-4T.jpg

And here's one that shows a seal for the original little vmod1 that also shows the ring at the base of the atty.
