It is possible to fit the Kick under the bottle leaving you with a 18650 and a Kick.

Yep, there was a video posted in one of these threads were it was explained just how to do it. Quite a few steps as the Kick has to be connected to both ends of the battery and the positive lead going to the connector. Also IIRC you have to remove the Kick in order to take the bottle out, but that doesn't seem like a big deal since the bottle holds so much.

If you're handy you can do it, if you're not I'd only attempt it AFTER watching the video (so you know what you're in for) and then only if you have another pv (preferrably a VMod) as a backup!

Here's the video:

That is the one !

Tried to find it but failed, badly.

Quick Aero update. Sitting in VMod No.2 no spitting. Not a sign or hint after spending 24 hours swimming in a VG bath then blown out.

VMod No.2 is actually Kick ready but with copper lining the battery bay. Really is good to have one again. Deary me sounds terrible but I have only been VMod'less for a little over a week but just feels longer lol

I had a pleasant Vapage gift pack last week so I get to play with some more Hybrid atty's and hopefully my Vmod will be back from it's Cali vacation soon enough.

Ok the Reo Grand. Make no mistake it is a fine mod. I actually do like it a lot and will definitely be buying the variable voltage version at some point in the future. Mods the same as juices are very much down to individual tastes and preferences. I am finding in vaping that the first really satisfying experience I have of anything leaves me depending on that item.

For example Resurrectors were the first truly satisfying carto's, while I use Boges a fair amount I still find I reach out for those 1.7's. Bounty Hunter was the first juice that made me realise that hey this vaping this really is for me so.....well you get the idea.

The VMod was my first bottom feeder and just seems to work consistently, could even say persistently, well for my vaping so I just feel happier knowing I have one available. Will be happier having two !

I'm still enjoying the Reo but I am just settled with the VMod. My feeding style just works better, I missed being able to tilt a little. I can even fill the VMod without touching the bottle directly through the atty without issue. Of course this may all be different if I had bought the Reo first but I didn't so it isn't.

I will be interested to see if I miss the Reo when it does eventually sell as much as I missed having a VMod.

Oh no trucks were bought as a result of this recent experiment.

It's not really that messy, it doesn't even require any permanent modifications to the XL. There's a slot already there where the wires can feed through. Just a bit of shaving on the bottle. If it works out well, I might try to fit some kind of hinge to the Kick for bottle switching instead of using tape, but I figure get it functional first, then make it pretty lol.

Just a heads up folks! Even tho Vapage is listing a RED XL case in the drop down menu, and you can order it and check out, BUT they are not available. Their website has not been corrected as of this morning to remove it out of the drop down menu!

I am very sad as this is the color of case I was most looking forward to :(

I got my questions answered with some research on the net. I may be back to the VMod darkside soon. Think I threw in the towel too quickly.

For you guys that have a kick installed under the bottle, if any, is it a PITA to change out bottles when you want to? What's the longevity of the Kicks look like if it was installed under the bottle and had to be moved? What about if it were swapped into an 18500 and had to be pulled out every time the battery was changed? Is moving it around going to kill the lifespan on it?

Edit: Also, earlier in the thread I saw AG talking about someone stalking, and the GMod, or something along the lines. Is that a new VMod model coming out, that could perhaps have some VV in it, by chance? Grasping at straws here, or is that something that could really be in the works? My limited detective investigation couldn't turn up anything.

I've been there Synnuh... got in on the first run of Provari's in fall of 2010 and since then have bought and sold at least a half dozen Vari's ending with the V2 Provari now. I also have a VVPV and a VMax VV, so you can see I am big on both regulated and variable voltage mods. Once you get a great regulated device I am sure you will enjoy all the privileges they afford... take that a step down to just "regulated" voltage; either the "set it and forget it" Kick or even the eGo non variable "regulated voltage" batts ... same power all the way through the charge cycle.
It's a good thing... but lately i've found that you can bypass all the expense of that by simply getting a good LR atomizer. huh? hear me out:
My favorite atomizer is the HH357... Hanna's LR 1.5 Ohm is low enough that you will never need more voltage than the XL's 18650 can put out, plus, both the Aero (1.5) and the 357 LR 1.5 are not "hot". Unlike other 1.5 LR atty's these 2 have fooled me because they do not really vape hot...just good; lots of vapor and of course better flavor.
Those are expensive atomizers, yeah, but imo worth the extra $ since you just can't beat the flavor factor.

I am paring down my collection now. I'll keep one Provari forever, but i don't need expensive VV devices anymore. If it gets to the point i can't afford the high end atomizers (economic apocalypse) I will go with cheaper LR's.

What do you guys think would be the best way to get a regulated voltage out of the VMod? I'm starting to miss mine and think I may have thrown in the towel too quickly, but the one thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on another one is the drain on the batteries.

It's one of the things I disliked most about my Riva setup. The first hour was great, second was OK, third hour on was bleh and made me grab a new battery and put the old one on the charger.

I didn't own the VMod long enough to experience it with the 18650's, but with my LT I'm only vaping between 3.7 to 4.2 volts. I love the fact that whatever voltage I set it at, is what it stays at until the battery is dead, but there is more hassle involved in messing with cartos, clearos, and tanks, than I had to deal with in the short time I owned my VMod.

I'm just wondering, what would be the most cost effective method for getting an guaranteed set voltage out of the VMod? I may be back to the dark side if I can get it figured out.

Edit: Also, earlier in the thread I saw AG talking about someone stalking, and the GMod, or something along the lines. The GMod was a line I threw out.

Adding Genesis to the VMod. Won't be possible with the VMod as it stands I expect outside of a steel mesh wicked rebuildable mini atty. I am looking at a range of mini options and larger device options but that is not appropriate for this thread.

Keep thinking about the Kick but haven't got around to owning one yet. The VMod I am using is Kick enabled with copper in the battery bay which is not my preferred option for reasons stated really 18650.

Just to reiterate ukemans point I am vaping a 357 on a ProVari Mini set at 3.5 volts as I type while I get to grips with the Atty before it moves to its home on the XL.

I have had the Aero as part of my Atty rotation along with 306's and Hybrids for months now. All 1.5, all high quality none are "hot".

Not sure you will ever see my Vari's for sale actually know you won't but doubt I will be buying any more tube vv devices.

ukeman, with that setup of the 357 and 18650, does it give you a good, solid vape until the end of the battery? I'm more talking about the throat hit. I notice most often when the throat hit starts tapering off, that I feel the need to change out the batteries. Changing batteries was the main reason I went to the 18650, and can get a full 2 days out of 1 on my LT.

In order of importance, I gotta go with TH, then flavor, then vapor, but flavor and vapor are pretty close to each other. I like a good taste just as much as I like fogging out my girlfriend, but would give up both for a good kick in the throat.

Another question, with those 1.5's.. are you still getting at least 1 full day's worth of vaping out of them? I'd heard that the 1.5's will kill batteries quicker, but never experimented to find out how much quicker. Gave up the VMod before I had a chance. :(

Andy, I, too, think I've found the only VV tube I'll need in the LT, but it's come down to either using a carto tank that burns cartos if it's less than half full, then floods on the refill, or dripping in an atty which, in the end, the VMod is much better at doing than I am, and can be done driving down the road.

@ukeman

I agree with the comments on 1.5 ohm attys on 3.7 devices. The only thing I would add is a little story on the benefits of regulation. I had an atty quit working with my lt this morning changed battery same thing wouldn't fire. Thought let me try in my mechanical mod. Worked but oh #@#! The mod got hot, I threw the battery into the back yard. Yep shorted atty just ruined a brand new AW 2000mah IMR. Won't try that again. So the regulation does provide the value on shorts. Otherwise you can get the same thing on consistent vaping by changing regularly.

Just to revisit this post a second time this time regarding 18650 life with 1.5's.

I work anywhere between 8 - 14 hour days depending on the day. I find a charged 18650 hits as hard at the start as at the end. The next day I just pop a fresh battery in there and away we go again. Cut, copy and paste for the rest of the week.

Unless you are away from home or were your charger and batteries are based for more than that you are good.

Ok, I'm sold again then. :) Going to dig through the classifieds and see if I can pick up a good deal on one. If not, I'll be picking up an Ala Carte with the coupon. Still have 3 batteries from the last one I bought, so I think I'll be good. As long as I'm not going to notice a dropoff throughout the day, I couldn't ask for much more.

If you get 2 days out of the LT as a single 18650 device without other devices, on one batt charge, you would be considered a light vaper.
The first complaint about the Provari was use time on one charge.
You can't get away from the basic math of how much you use a battery vs how much it will put out.
I would say average time on a Provari would be 4 hours of consistent vaping. (it is better to measure use time by mil. of juice vs time since it depends on how much you use the thing within a given time frame).
People saw an 18650 and figured wow... i should get at least a full day but if they chain vape, it ain't gonna happen.

You can optimize by using SR coils and matching voltage for optimal vapor production and drawing less from the batt per vape.

TO get to your points Synnuh, I guess my comments should be premised with the fact that I am a chain vaper, and I always had not only multiple batts in rotation, but also multiple devices to pull from. In fact I have at least 3 devices at my finger tips. If one gets hot after a few vapes, i put it down and grab a cool one.
I will tell you that my genuine eGo regulated 3.3v 1100 mah will last a long time and give as good as the Vari set at same with a 1.5 Ohm.

Given you like TH, i'd stick with 1.5 Ohm. ( i don't really know why most vendors say not to use 1.5 LR on an eGo batt since i have done this for a long time without problems... my disclaimer).
So yes, you will shorten your usage time with 1.5 Ohm... but you have to compromise between having more backup batts, and devices IF you want the benefits of an LR atomizer/coil. ( you may be best off with a VV and SR after all )

btw, I don't know how much experience you have with dripping, but Bottom feeders imo take as much of a learning curve as dripping... to get the best vape you have to not overfeed and bear in mind that dry burning will lessen the life of the atomizer. It's a balancing act.

It is a different experience the 357.

Seems to take a lot more juice than any other Atty I have come across. That was why I am dripping it out of the VMod to get to grips with it.

Just under 24 hours in and still the flavour is fine though not spectular and every now and it catches me out with massive amounts of vapor. Trying to figure out how to get that consistently at the moment.

I'd probably consider myself a light vaper, as well. I'm definitely not a chain vaper, I set the device down and just leave it quite a bit. If I had to say, I'm getting 4mls on an 18650 in the LT, 2mls a day.

I don't mind keeping more batteries in rotation, since I've already got 3 Vapage 18650s from my previous purchase. I just wanted to make sure going with a 1.5 wouldn't have me rotating batteries 3 times a day.

I don't have dripping down to a "science" like I've seen some people talk about, but when I had my VMod I could get 3-4 good draws off of it before I noticed the dry taste. I'd give it a good squeeze til I knew juice was in it, then tilt it back upright and give it a couple dry squeezes, and get 3-4 more good draws off it.

After I've tried the juices I was using in it on a few different devices, I've come to figure out that it may not have been all the VMods fault, with the lack of TH previously, but that the juices could have played a bigger role in it. I think, now, if I'd have gone down to a 1.5ohm that gave a tighter draw, like Fernand recommended, and changed to a juice that I know gives a good TH, I'd have been satisfied with it and wouldn't have just traded it off the way I did.

Hind sight is 20/20, but looking at it now I am still kind of glad that I did trade it off. I ended up with a Lavatube that I'm happy with, and learned a little more about what I really want from a device. The VMod wasn't nearly as big of a hassle as I made it out to be. I need to get my juice delivery system down so I'll be a 100% happy vaper, which consists of little to no tinkering.

I know the LT will always have a place on my desk, but it's too hard to mess with any delivery system on it when I'm away from the house, and in the car. Right now when the tank gets half full it burns the carto, so I have to keep it topped off with the syringe then it works great.

Once I get my home-based business headed back in the right direction I'll be in the car 12 hours a day again, so I'm gonna need something that doesn't require me to carry a syringe, juice bottle, and muck with the tank when I'm out. I see the LT getting a nice atty on it, and dripping when I'm at home or just using the tank when I don't feel like dripping, then using the VMod when I'm in the vehicle. Changing out the battery every morning and keeping a spare in the car isn't something that I'd complain about.
