Got mine today, two days after ordering. I love dripping and it's my first bottom feeder, I kicked it with thin gauge copper and it's fantastic!

Much too simple for a vid! I just cut a piece of 38 gauge copper foil similar to this:
Metal Tooling Foil for craft: Copper, Aluminum & Brass: FAST SHIPPING

I made sure it fit, glued it to the inside with gorilla gel crazy glue, and sanded away the little bit of glue that squeezed out onto the copper surface. You can also use copper or aluminum tape, I already had the copper and it's a little more conductive than aluminum. I tried 28 gauge first but it was too thick for the kick to fit.

Very cool, I'll be trying this once I get Vmod #2. Thanks for the explanation.

Are you getting the XL? I had to go down to an 18490 batt, with the smaller VMOD you'll need to reduce battery size to 18350 and might not get much time out of that since the kick uses up to 20% of batt power itself.

I have one XL and will be picking up another in the future. I personally don't have a reason to try the smaller Vmod the XL is perfectly pocketable.

I plan on picking up some 18490s for the telescoping mod I have on the way.

It really is! You will love it kicked. In case you missed it, vapage is having a 50% off sale until 8/8. I got the XL, 4 more drip tips and 4 extra bottles for $50, shipped for free.

Actually, you cant kick the lil VMod(2.0) it uses a 14500 batt, not 18500. So the battery compartment is to small:(

duridog -- That little brass spring of the Kick needs to be grounded. I can't tell by your picture if you have attached that copper to the ground spring or if if just the spring touching copper is enough.

Most modding for Kicks on non metal mods I have seen connect to the ground spring in some way.

I'm hoping someone more electrical savvy can help out here.

Cant go upside down, there is a spring on side of the kick that uses the bodys ground. If you invert it, the body become positive. Kick wont work.
Trust me I would have loved to!

The ground spring on the kick is firmly touching the copper and the copper is making contact with the ground wire connected to the battery spring. Do I need to do anything else? I've vaped through one batt today and the kick is definitely working but I don't want to do anything to damage the kick/batts/myself.

OK, it seems like a lot of people (myself included) want to "Kick" their Vmod XL's but keep the 18650, so I was really thinking about this tonight and had a thought.

What if Vapage came out with a "Kickable" model called the Vmod XL-K or something like that, but have the wiring changed so that the Kick could perfectly snap/fit into a shelf under the juice bottle with the proper connections already in place, and make the juice bottle 7ml or 8ml so that it's just a little shorter (don't want to lose the 18650 but don't want to lose too much juice capacity either). That way they wouldn't have to re-engineer the aluminum sleeve just for that model, only the internal wiring, add a plastic shelf and a slightly shorter juice bottle.

And they could also include/sell some kind of "dummy Kick" to slide in just to complete the circuit (a piece of black plastic with a strip of metal on it?) in case your Kick broke or you wanted to use the Kick in one of your other devices but still use the Vmod in the standard configuration.

Would that be more work than it's worth for the amount of people who would want something like that?

EDIT- Oh, and for people that would rather sacrifice battery life over juice capacity (as in the Kick on top of a smaller 18500), it wouldn't be too difficult to also just add metal to the top of the battery compartment in the standard Vmod XL right at the factory. Great for people who want to "Kick" their standard Vmod XL and completely unobtrusive for the people who don't.

Like the idea of a kicked 18650 XL K, and even more since the new Shi fu has a 2.0 Ohm atomizer.

***Still slightly bothered that the Shi Fu is somewhat stiff in that collar. I've switched out 2 1.5 Shi Fu's between the XL and the Reo Grand to see if it was the atomizer in question on the XL... nope. The one that was on the XL works fabulously on the Reo with its open drip well. I cleaned out the holes in the outer cone collar and keeping everything lightly screwed down, it's still very good, but not "fabulous" because of the difference in the air draw.
I do wonder if everyone is experiencing the same thing.

That said, after a day of using the Shi Fu, I am TOTALLY sold on them. These will save vapers looking for the best in flavor (and vapor production) a TON of money (compared to HH357 and AVA). - a ton.

I am experiencing the same stiffness after about 5-6 hours of use....this is the same thing the Joyes atties do, which is why I dumped using them.....I know there is a fix for this by drilling out the air holes a bit bigger, but man I hate having to do that with every atty I use or purchase.

What is it that Cisco does that keeps them from tightening up like this?

Maybe I like a stiff draw or something because I am not noticing the draw being different than the hh357 or the 306.

Cisco's Aero has 2 holes at top of connector threads. If drilling (widening) the Shi Fu holes is an option; haven't looked yet; I have this little hand drill kit from ebay ($5) with tiny drill bits; should be very easy to do. Unless there are no holes.
