I just use "dry burn" for lack of saying... toasted it by mistake when there was not enough juice in there, and for enough time to char it badly.
A "dry burn" when cleaning is supposed to burn the juice residue off; it's dangerous to an extent too because it can weaken the coil if you don't do it right...
Better to just say; I "burnt the wick and the burnt taste won't go away...
- this stuff happens until instinctively you avoid it; IF that is what happened....
The flip side is that you need a certain amount of oxidation on the coil to get it broken in and tasting optimal. This is rather new info, and I guess found out from using Hybrids where you can see what's going on, and of course rba's.
In any case, there is nothing quite like the occasion of setting up with a spanking NEW atomizer!!! yeah!
BTW, I didn't kill the wick dry-burning..........at least not on purpose. I don't dry burn to clean.

I just happened to have dry burned it while it was inside the darn vmod. :( Oh well, maybe it was time.

hi,

do you know the trick of improving negative wire in vmod xl?

I added an extra wire between the negative spring and washer over the bottle, and voltage under load is greater up to 10%.

At 4.2-4.3 V and LR atty (1.7 ohms) it does not change anything, but at 3.8 V quite a bit.

Example:

18650 batt (AW imr, SANYO icr, icr VAPAGE)

no-load, no additional wire:
1) measured between the poles of batt 4.27 V
2) measurement between the negative field of batt and atomizer housing / vent stack / washer over a bottle: 4.27 V

under load (1.7 ohm atty), without extra wire:
1) measured between the poles of batt: 4.08 V
2) measurement between the negative field of batt and casing
atomizer / vent stack / washer over the bottle: 3.80 V

with extra wire, load

measurement between the negative field of batt and casing
atomizer / vent stack / washer over the bottle: 4.06 V

at low voltage each 0.1V is a better vaping :)

Couple things -

Can this be done on the 2.0?

And, can you give us non-mechanical people a step by step about how to do this?
I admit, my complain about the 2.0 is a lack of 'oomph'.
I usually vape at ~4.2 with a 2.4Ohm clearo - on the 2.0, I'm using the 3.7 batt with a 1.5ohm shifu and don't feel like I'm getting the hit.

I'd love to up the power a bit and see if that helps.

PLEEEEEEEEEAAAASE???!!!

Photos closeup would help me. Word explanations for stuff like this leaves me jaw dropped
Sounds gREAT though

So I've had my vmod for a couple days now and am loving the atomizer that came with it. I went online to order a couple more of them and can't figure out what it is. It says vapage 2.0 ohm hybrid BF. It isn't gold on the bottom so can't be the universal and the only other one is the 'shifu" isn't it? Or am I missing something?

Also, do we know when the 4.5 ml bottles will be available again?

the Vapage 1.5 and 2.0 Ohm hybrid BF is shifu...The universal is NOT shifu spec.
Shifu spec = SUPER :)

hope this helps
