HI Big Mac - I'm another soon-to-be-VModder. I, too, scoured this thread, this forum, YouTube reviews, etc. looking for the inevitable "well, this worked great for a couple of months and then ..." Never did find those comments! :D

Been using the Ego Twist for a number of months now and a whole variety of 'must tries' with it. Finally it got to the point where nothing was hitting that sweet spot anymore except dripping so ... decided it was high time to take the plunge. Ordered it and then ... the waiting began. How long would it take to get here? Got home from work today and there was the coveted 'key to open the parcel box' in my mailbox! We get our mail at one of those community bulk mailbox things. YES!! It's HERE!! Happy dance!!

Until I tried to open the parcel-box door. The frigging key won't work!!! Arghhh! I work during the day so have no change to hijack the mail lady when she comes tomorrow and force her to open that damn door. So all I can do is tape a message to the parcel-key saying 'this won't open the damn door!' and see what they do about it. Oh wait ... just a minute ... where DID I put that crowbar???

I agree.. when my Kick stopped working.. it feels like there's something missing with my VMOD XL.. consistency of the vapor.. Kick made the VMOD XL an ultimate vapor machine!

My only so so issue with the XL is that I have had some tightness in the draw (AMG Hybrid B/F 1.5 atty) due to the collar/cone design which I guess is a good thing because it prevents leaks? VS the open well connector area on say a Reo b/f.
Is that still an issue for anyone else?
I won't use any other atty than a Vapage AMG hybrid B/F btw ... won't do it 'cause they're too good.
I've just kept my collar and atty as least tightened as necessary to hold, and to make a connection. It fixes the draw issue.

I had the draw issue when I first got my VMOD. I found that the inner collar, when not screwed in all the way will actually tighten the draw and it closes the air passage between it and the outer cone. When I finally got the threads worked in enough to get the inner sleeve all the way in it was drawing as if I had the atty on top of my Provari.

It's the BF Hybrids that is causing the tight draw. Try this... Get a paper clip and insert it to the post hole and push up. Becareful not to over push or you will break the connection inside. By doing this it will push the ceramic cup and the stainless steel mesh up and it will free up the tight draw. It's not the cone/colar that is causing the tight draw. I addressed that issue with Shifu when I visited Vapage office last month.

FYI. you can actually adjust the draw buy pushing up or down the ceramic cup and mesh inserts.

Howdy folks,

Fisher Pal,
You show more restraint than I would, lol. I spoke to Vapage yesterday, and they said they shipped yesterday. They tell me that my new gear should be here, today, if I'm really, really lucky, but more than likely will be here Saturday. I mean, I'm only a bit under 400 miles away! If I couldn't get into my mailbox, I'm afraid my mail box would end up like my 56 ford back in 73....one big lump of crushed metal.

Nice info on the draw there Max and Chad. But I'm sure mine and Pal's will come and be perfect so we can vape and vape and vape without having to make any alterations.....yeahhhhh, rightttttt.

I've already thought about a kick, but that's all I've done is thought about it. I'll have to wait a bit before a kick is purchased. Too close to the holidays and with 7 grandsons within 10 miles of us, 12, 7, 4.5, 4, 3, 2.5, and 2, and they all have Papa wrapped tight around their pinkies. Holidays are getting expensive, but they are sure exciting.

Big Mac sounds like some great times coming with the holiday season!! I haven't had to modify my Vmod at all. Just had to make sure it was assembled correctly. Been super happy with it specially since I put a 1.5ohm shifu on it. Sadly yesterday the wifes lavatube took a shat (again)... So now I'm stuck with the Provari now...(huge inconveniance I know lol)

Hey Max,

Must be a real bummer to be stuck with such a backup. You have my sympathies. Hey, that made me think a bit, when my VMod gets here, my lavatube will be my backup, hmmmmm. I like my Tube. Guess I can safely say if something does go wrong, at least I can vape with pleasure. Too bad you can't say the same...muhahahaha. (I am assuming of course, you love your provari, can't say I've heard anyone say otherwise.)

Well, wife, 2 of the grandsons and I just got back from Apple Hill (apple pickin festival), and the mailman, not the vapeman, has been here. Hope my luck will be with me tomorrow. Gonna have to go make up another batch of bananananana juice. I'm surprised how much i really like it.

Wish me luck folks, hope its here tomorrow, I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for Santa.

Interesting. Thanks.

I'm probably in the minority but prefer the Shifu 2.0 over the 1.5 and I'm not kicked.

Never did like to be "assaulted" by flavor, smoke or taste even when I was smoking analogs, I like a nice long gentle session with my vape. Real low resistance vaping in general hasn't worked for me.

Your not alone RH, I use a 2.0 with a kick, but I use the kick to lower the wattage. I'm not fond of TH(unless it's on my menthol joose), Vapor is not that big a deal to me. But what is important is FLAVOR!! Yes, I'm a Flavor Junky and for flavor, i feel just a tad warm is perfect!! But that's just me, were all different, thats what makes this Hobby interesting:thumbs:

OMG!!! And no ... that isn't the sound of a newbie XLVodder taking her first vapes. That is, unfortunately, the not-exactly-accurate expression I used when I found out that the mail lady not only did NOT solve the 'can't get into the mailbox problem' but she didn't leave one damn thing in my regular box to help! Not another key that might actually work, no card so I could pick up my parcel at the local store ... NOTHING! And, as we don't get Saturday mail delivery up here, I'm stuck having to wait now until Monday after work to see if there is anything in there THEN. Which means likely Tuesday at the earliest. This is killing me ... I know it's in there ... calling to me ... free me, free me!! If it weren't for the fact that they would know damn well who did it, that crowbar is looking mighty attractive right now!

I love the provari for cartos in tanks and sometimes (rarely) dripping. My new love is.... (drumroll)

BUT, honestly, prob gonna give the Provari to the wife to replace her lavatube and take my damn Vmod XL back to have for my backup/change of pace.

Sucks FusherPal. Hope it gets resolved soon. If anything, at leaset you have a crow bar handy

This info I can use, because I was only lightly threading the inner collar.... thanks

oh snap I forgot, someone must of stolen my VMod XL from my car when my stepdaughter went out to hit the local hotspots when she was here for the week. It is not where i stow it for the road... and she knows nothing.
Waiting for another fab sale/discount.

Even having my iHY I would still cry if someone took my XL. Hope a sale comes soon! I been thinking about getting a 2.0 just for fun lol.

Thanks for furthering my education on Hybrid atomizers... Skinny is a good guy; smart to mass produce these shifu spec hybrids for us all to enjoy are reasonable prices.... VAPING SHIFU +1
