Yeah, I remember that! Someone also posted a link to a mary jane e-liquid, too. That didn't go over too well with e-cig advocates, as you can imagine! LOL!

I think Petrodus' point is that just because someone can use something for illegal purposes doesn't justify banning it for legal uses. If that were the case, aerosol products and basic household chemicals would have to be banned, too, right? (ie. huffing and .... are from everyday products not intended for illegal drug use)

We can hope the government can't make a case to connect other products. The only problem with pot and our vaporizers is that the active ingredient isn't soluble in VG or PG you need an oil base. Not a show stopper. I remember seeing a place on the net in California that is already selling it. I don't remember the url and I wouldn't post it anyway. From what I read there is no more smell than then we get from flavored juice. If you read some of the pot forums you will also find ways to extract it from the plant. It is being used but too much trouble for most pot smokers to do it themselves.

I'm not sure how this topic came up, but I did some research on it. While the basic purpose of vaporizors and e-cigarettes are similar....

Which brings me back to a thought I had back before I found that snus solved some of my issues eliminating smoking. I started looking at these devices to "vaporize" tobacco. Since the current generation of e-liquid only vaporizes nic, those other mysterious alkaloids are missing. Would the iolite provide those in the generated vapor? I forgot all about that thought until you mentioned it here. Perhaps someone here has even tried it, if they had one of those vaporizers laying around for some reason.

*edit upon further reading*

Oh this thread is going to generate some warning PMs

I'm not sure by what you mean by "E-liquid only vaporizes nic". There is a vendor selling an extract from tobacco would that work.

Traver, do you have more info on that? I know someone on this forum had done a tobacco extract which apparently worked well for those that had the pleasure of trying it. The process was labor intensive and there were other issues, however it appeared to address what was lacking in traditional liquids for some of us. I'd be interested in investigating this.

Feel free to PM if you don't care to advertise.

Can you point out vaporizers which use the same technology as e-cigarettes? I'd be interested in reading about it.

Nope. I've already spent time searching the net a few months ago trying to find them again. They're out there, well buried by the "electronic cigarette" market. They were even advertised on Chinese TV years ago. Being "Made in Taiwan" gives me some advantage to China products.

This is a legitimate e cig vendor. Though I'm a bit dubious about someone who is doing his own extracts.
APV Tobacco Organic

This and vendors selling herbal juice is what got me all that stuff about personal vaporizers. It was the herb extracts that I was researching but kept coming up with pot forums. That was just a side issue and it was what is in the herb juice that I was interested in.

I'll gladly admit that I use to smoke massive amounts of pot[when I first heard about the butane vaporizers, around 2001, I almost died], and am still 100% pro-legalization, but for the sake of e-cigs I think the two should try to be distanced from each other as much as possible. The gov't can, and probably WILL make[up?] a connection, because as the war on drugs has shown us, that's always been the perfect excuse to take control of something. Be it property, money, or the sanctity of your rectum when crossing a boarder.

If the FDA or DEA decide to take that route- fear-mongering vaporizers as drug paraphernalia[which they are, of course, but the DEA knows nicotine isn't some sort of addictive, dangerous drug like ... hah]- they will get their way. In the end, we will probably expect to find all vaping products over-taxed, over-regulated, and maybe even only available by prescription! Can you imagine that? Hope you got a lenient insurance plan... I sure don't...

It isn't just pot. It's opium, mescaline and almost any other drug. I remember in vietnan I used to have opium as a yellow liquid. It was used by putting some on your finger tip then rubbing on to cigerette. It would dry out and you could smoke it anywhere.

What i was really more concerned about or at least interested in was the trend in using organic and herbal extracts juices.

This is a vaporizer, but of course it's for vaporizing tobacco not e-liquid. As mentioned it's a completely different process.

Checked out the site and that would not be what I and Rothenbj and others are looking for. The issue at hand is that nicotine is just one a number of alkaloids in tobacco. It makes up about 90% to 95% of the alkaloids in tobacco so it is the bulk of it. But... for some of us the other 5% to 10% are important. It's the missing X factor in e-liquids. That's why products like snus are important. It's a whole tobacco product that gives us the X factor.

I have heard that a few venders use something called tobacco extract but that would be a very different thing then extracting the complete spectrum of alkaloids in tobacco. As of yet there is no holy grail of e-liquid that contain the X factor.

How about Tobacco Absolute? Would that be closer to what you are looking for. Perfumers Apprentice has is. Probably from Bulgaria but there are others.

I've found NOT having a lighter to be inconvenient, too. I've used them to burn rope in half when I had no knife, to make a ballpoint pen start writing again, to unfreeze a padlock in the dead of winter. I've considered finding an old one and keeping it in my purse for emergencies like those!

The only one that I haven't missed it for was the padlock. Using it for a little light in the dark, asking for an encore, burning ticks pulled off my dogs and just lighting candles are a few that I just recalled off hand without too much thought. I had a power outage a couple months ago and had to stumble around in the darkness to find one of my gf's in the BR.

Sales of Electronic cigarettes rise

Article: Click Here

I posted this article here instead of creating a new thread
because (in my opinion) it is NOT E-cigs in the News and
is aligned closer with The War Against E-cigarettes.

The title is nothing more than a "smoke screen" to draw in the
public thinking they will be reading something positive about
E-cigarettes.

Don't ya just love "news-style" pages on the Net with
catchy "come-on" titles that support E-cigarettes but
are packed full of lies, misinformation, and quotes from
those with negative opinions about E-cigs??!!

Articles like this (in my opinion) are created with one thing
in mind. Slam E-cigarettes and discourage anyone from
thinking about using an E-cig to stop smoking.

For those that might say the article is balanced...
All it says is sales are up...but the truth is E-cigs are a dangerous scam!

PS: Here’s a “Carbon Copy” article now on The China Post
Look forward to seeing others duplicating the “so-called” news (propaganda)
and someone will probably post one of these articles as a new thread

Even if we do not put any kind of reply we should all start rating these with like one star, the lowest rating we can give, maybe if they start seeing that none of their reports are getting rated up they will figure it out.

Yes...Soon or later they will get the message
No one wants to create articles knowing in advance there
will be many thumbs down ratings

What we need is members posting reminders suggesting
a 1 star rating to articles as we see them pop-up on this forum.
Doesn't take but a minute...
