Know nothing about the DNAs, but I know that there are board mounted ribbon connectors you can get. Kinda like a pin header and connector. They even have them with a locking type mechanism. You pull up on half of the connector, slide in the end of the ribbon, then push the connector half back down to lock.
Perhaps you can find one of them. My Google fu not working so well this morning.

The problem is the ribbon cable on the screen isn't a typical ribbon cable pitch. I loooooked and looked :D

Even designed up a possible solution but it would need a couple of custom pcb's

Well,if anyone could find one, I'd say it would be you. I wonder why it's not a standard pitch? Surely they aren't paying the price for a custom ribbon when there has to be a standard that would work.

It's not a custom screen, I believe it's just a standard "hot bar" solder connection.

That is what I was thinking, cut off the old screen leaving a pieces of ribbon and join the new screen and ribbon with one of those lock connecters I see in all the laptops and cell phones. Should be easy...

So what's this Tibs1 and Tibs2 you keep talking about BJ? My google fu is failing me.

Side note, finally got all my parts in for my own weekender type build - thanks to Mike's work I know my dual parallel NCR18650PD setup should work.....this battery box I got is going to require a lot of finessing to make work, wish me luck.

lol - has your forwarder finally picked up your package? you got me, bap and mike waiting on that ;)

once that is done with we can close the nifoam thread and move on to odds and ends for 2014

I am considering running a DNA co-op in the New Year as well. Working through the logistics now, would target a MOQ of 100 pieces to get a decent discount.
