Sorryfor the picture quality... Janky Camera has much Janky!
ohhhhhhh that's purdy!

Funny how a persons vape style can change on a whim.
Jup........I was dual kanthal coils at 1.3 ohms. Didn't like sub ohming, way too hot for my fruity juices. Tried some SS316L a friend sent. Accidentally built .6 ohm duals instead of the 1 ohm I was shooting for......love it!! Gonna order some 26g and 28g SS soon. Never goin back to kanthal.

Did you run that SS in TC mode or just VW? I just ordered 100 ft of SS yesterday, and some SS Clapton as well, figuring if I run it in TC, it will still be fine for me for MTL and not worry about the resistance as I do with Kanthal.

And my KF 5 is out for delivery! My Merlin might be arriving today as well, so lots of shinys to play with and build on. Lately it seems every day is like Xmas, which might be the only good news to come out of those FDA deeming regs.

I build my own coils too and started rebuilding the supertanks coils but I want a bunch of them on hand for when the FDA bans them so am still buying them.
I like claptons as a situation coil. Some juices its good, some become harsh with a Clapton. Yet you can never go wrong with a plain jane wrapped coil. They always work and taste great.
Yup, nothing wrong with a plain Jane but you still need a DNA 200 for TC :p

I do have a TC mod that I won, but haven't used it yet. I've just run these coils on my Reo. (mech) 30 watts on a full battery. I did put a kinda crappy coil in my merlin and pulled out an old VW mod.

Your going to love that SS wire. Best part is you can use it for both TC and Power modes. As for MTL I put SS316 coils in my Russians 1.4 ohms at 420 degrees and 20 watts and it's fantastic. Of course it's dual SS Claptons @.3ohms for the Boreas!!! The thing I like about SS wire is like @chopdoc mentioned is some mods slip out of TC and go to power. With SS wire you don't have to worry like you do with nickel or titanium!

The dual mode with SS is what appealed to me. While my smaller mods can do TC, I never bothered, but I just got my first DNA 200, and after playing around with it and the software for it, I absolutely want to give it a shot. As long as I stay away from really subohm builds with it I can still interchange mods without worry of needing lots of power.

I'm going to build some SS316L 24g 10 wrap dual plain Janes for the black Boreas today..Lets hope it doesn't leak, I'm not on my own either, the SS one, not a drop has leaked, nothing, the black one, I was forever wiping it, jumped over to that other place and found others agreed....

A big reason why I only get SS tanks. The other reason is SS does not get chipped looking.

During the whole temp control initial period i was not impressed. The vapes always seem to be muted and muddled flavor from the Ni and Ti coils. With all the good I been hearing about the SS316L wire I went ahead and ordered some and gave it a try. I built some coils and tried it and liked it, then I heard it works good in TC so tried that too and gotta say I was impressed. Good crisp flavor from it.
At the same time this was going on I got the two Pico's I ordered in, tried them and wasnt impressed because a single 18650 battery just dont last long vaping at 50 watts. So I put the Picu's in the "yeah they work but dont plan on using them unless emergency" box.
I was so impressed with the 316L wire that I ordered some SS coils for the tobeco Supertanks that I like and when they showed up I found out I ran into a snag. With my M80's, IPV4's, Xcube II, EvicVT, snow wolf, they would do TC but all were pre SS316L wire era, so now what.
Out comes one of the Pico's and it will do TC with the 316 wire so its back in the line up. Now I gotta say I am kinda impressed with the pico. It is small which I like for it can ride in a shirt pocket without any problems, and with it set up for 50 watts, 400 degree it will last almost two full tanks which for me is most of the day. Only thing I dont like is when the battery indicator is showing about half full it will get really really warm when chain vaping.
So now I went from not liking TC to doing TC on these set ups and loving it.
Kbox 120 with Boreus (butterscotch)
Pico with supertank (mango)
Cuboid with supertank KS (unicorn milk clone)
NeBox (banana nut bread)
NeBox (Cappuccino)

Funny how a persons vape style can change on a whim. I have a Kbox 120 and another Pico still new in the box that I had saved for the vapapocalypse that I am thinking of getting out and putting the other Boreas on the Kbox 120(blueberry cinn crumble) and a supertank (strawberry donut) on the other pico.

And yes, I do like a large variety of flavors thru-out the day :)
Can't you set the TCR for 316 in those mods?

Exactly!
Merlin with a 316L notch coil on the VT133 450F/45W. I should have picked up a DNA200 a long time ago, much better TC experience than iPV or Joyetech devices.

For me Joytech and Evolv TC work exactly the same. Then again I don't vape on the limiter.

Yeah, the DNA 200 is the first one that tempted me into TC. On my other mods (CF IV,Pico) I always felt TC was more of an added feature for a marketing checklist. not that you couldn't use it, but it was so difficult, at least for me, to implement.

The instructions always went something like "Press the Power button 3 times quickly, then hold down the Negative button for 5 seconds, then press the Positive button once with your big toe". The order and method was also different between mods, so without the instruction manual in front of me, I couldn't remember which command was for what. It reminded me of a Casio G Shock watch I once had that I could never remember how to reset the time, so once we changed to EST, I had to put in the drawer until DST kicked in again.

Being able to just quickly set up a profile and load it on makes it far easier. And as someone generally more comfortable with a mouse and keyboard it's something I don't even have to think about.
