Yup! Do as I say not as I do! Can't have it both ways!
LIS, I don't think it was about being OT, we can do that some, and he joins in the fun too once in awhile. Mine was more about being off color

As has been stated in the past, we do give some leeway in the threads. It's when it goes on for pages that we step in to bring things back on track.

And.. As another reminder:

10. Misconduct
a. These are not permitted -
  • Flaming (insults).
  • Criticising or complaining about a Moderator, or how the site is run, except via PM (private message).
  • Discussion or mention of illegal/illicit drugs or sexual content.
  • Posting of vulgar videos.
  • Obscene or vulgar language.
  • Trying to place offensive text in a post by evading the forum's built-in word censor, using symbols or alternative letters for example.
  • Multiple identities/accounts: each member is allowed only one account on the ECF Forums. This also applies to Facebookers (one account only on ECF).
  • Spamming for post count (placing meaningless posts) is against the rules.
b. Posting photos or pictures that some may find offensive or unacceptable is not permitted. Naked or semi-naked pictures of people are not permitted. As matters of taste cannot have a hard definition, Moderators will determine what is or is not acceptable - if you are unsure, then do not post the material.
c. Links to offensive materials of this type are prohibited.
d. Improper solicitation of goods, services, or monies from suppliers or other members; and/or giving instructions to others on how to solicit products. ECF is a 'no begging zone'.
e. Posting affiliate links or tracking links is not allowed.

Then how do you balance your Chech book? :)
Balance it? I didn't know I was supposed to do that. On my finger? On my nose? Where is it supposed to balance? Oh, and also, who uses a checkbook anymore?:D

    Gee how appropriate. :D
Since it is likely that many may not get it, that was a reference to a line from the Phantom of the Opera.

Now that I have completely caught up, I can see that you are correct, it seems to fit well into this thread. Some of us are content with limited power, but some people prefer more power and will keep increasing their power, while reminding everyone "Look at all this power"

Eventually those mods will be pushing so much power that they will blow up the entire room, possibly even the entire house.

    who uses a checkbook anymore?
Those of us who still have a desire to be in control of our own money. Those who use automatic deductions have a possibility of losing everything because it is not in their control. Trust me, I know whereof I speak.

OK @Boden (and anyone else who cares to comment), I got all my other stuff done for the night (I know, it is A.M. as I write this). Here's the basic premise:

What does an absolute newbie know about how a personal vaporizer works? Someone said you have a battery that heats a coil that vaporizes the e-juice and you suck in that "steam" like you used to suck smoke... What goes on in the newbie's mind? I suspect he relates to the known heating element in his house: the kitchen range. You put a pan of water on the stove and turn the knob to high, the element glows red, then in a few minutes the water starts to boil and makes steam. Now you can turn the knob to off, but the water still boils for a minute or so, and you cannot put your hand on that element for several minutes or you'll get burned even though it has been turned off. That big element takes a while to cool off. So with that picture in mind, I sketched (crudely) a VW-mode. You will note that I did not put any numbers on the graph because every mod (6-8W EVOD to 200W mega-cloud-maker) will have different numbers. My durations might appear distorted too, but I am attempting to show there is some lag (or unknown timing) between one thing and the other. Yes, it is extremely over-simplified, but I am not sure just how far I should make it absolutely accurate without confusing the newbie mentality.

    VW graph.JPG

The temperature control version might not even be needed for a newbie, and is even less accurate than "reality," but here's my shot in the dark anyway:

    TC graph.JPG

In both cases, the "suck time" to get maximum vapor from your unit is the intersection of the blue and red lines, not necessarily the length of time you hold down the fire button. Now maybe this applies only to Tootle Puffers and these graphs would be wrong for Cloud Chuckers (very high Watts, very low resistance), but I have no way of measuring any of this at the moment.

Your comments will be very much appreciated.

I guess one can not express their opinion. I in no way said anything out of line but expressed my opinion about a post that was made. Nice very nice!

Once upon a time I seldom missed a post in the womper room and never missed a day here. I still go to vaping forums daily but seldom do yall see me in the womper room anymore. Give ya three guesses why and the first two dont count :)

Now I mostly hang out with the fugee's where a lot of the old womper room peeps are at. Even seen lannie there a time or two :)

Nice visual representation of hysteresis :)

And, imo, even more so for cloud chuckers. The greater mass of the generally used coils will stay hot longer, yes?

I think the graphic is more confusing than just saying 'Coil heating and cooling lags behind power button actions.'

    Um, "not to scale"? ;)

And, while I can't figure out a way to phrase it that would actually fit in the graph, the TC one could maybe have a footnote that you don't have to pulse the button, the mod does that for you. I can visualize a noob trying to figure out the necessary rhythm! :w00t:

Maybe explain it like ABS brakes. It does the pumping/pulsing for you (sometimes I forget and still try to pump the brake, tough to overcome old habits).
