OK here goes.
So I received my VCMT and a OBS Crius Plus.
So first impression of the VCMT. Very well built, machined well and very heavy in weight.
I had build some staple coils using .4mm x .1mm ribbon wire and 36ga A1 Kanthal. Well I build dual 5 wrap 3.5 ID coils which came in at 0.16 ohms. I couldn't wait to hit these suckers. Then the first disappointment came. The coils were too big for the chimney!
I should have realized this when I looked at the coils they supply and they were 24ga 2.0 ID. So after all the effort of making the staples I thought this sucks now what do I put in it. So back to the drawing board. I used my old reliable SS316L 26ga/32ga Clapton coils with a 2.5 ID 7 wraps which ohmed out at .24. Wicked them and the chimney fit. Yea!!!
So I put it on my Wismec Reuleaux 2/3 in SS TC 480 degrees at 70 watts. After all the disappointment of not getting the staples too fit, and thinking that I was going to be able to put big builds in this, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised how well the VCMT vapes. It has nice flavor, good airflow, and nice clouds.
Now that not to say that this thing doesn't have some flaws. I wish that it had more than one kidney shaped hole in the top cap for filling. It is fairly small compared to other atty's. Like Shawn said it does weep some juice. It seems to weep from the bottom of the atty where the airflow ring and bottom connect. I'm not sure if you can change o-rings since I haven't tried to take it totally apart. Not being able to close the juice flow after it's put together is a con. You do get a little juice coming out of the air hole when you first fill it up. It does stop after the first hit.
Another con would be that you can't use big coils in it. ID's of 2.5 maybe 3.0 would be the biggest possible.
For the $16 bucks I paid for it I'm happy. I wouldn't be if I had paid full price for it.
Over all it's not a bad atty and maybe after a little use it will grow on me. Right now I would say it's OK.
I will do something on the OBS Crius Plus if anyone is interested. I do like that one better!
