About 11 years ago, I was basically offered a job with a small accounting software technology firm in Houma. I was honored and floored! Had my Mom not been ill (and then knowing my Dad would be alone for a few years before he subsequently passed), I might have considered. The "offer" came from someone for whom I had a great deal of admiration (the owner of the firm and a very well-respected reseller/consultant of the software with which I also work.) Had the fates fared differently, I might have been able to meet ya!
Sounds like it wasn't meant to be, but at least you'll always have the honor of having been offered the position, that's wonderful!! Ya never know about stuff like that. It could have ended up turning out badlyVoice of experience?

Well, within a year, they were pounded by Katrina. Since then, that particular software (part of a VERY large company) we represented has become the Red-Headed Step-Child and is NOT a player much any more. She's since retired, and I have no idea what's become of her firm
I'm VERY WELL situated where I am (20 years in October) Can't fathom being anywhere else

Yea, Katrina was horrible. Someday I'll have to dig up my vids of the aftermath.
@Atchafalaya, I feel like I "know" so many folks here - I just wish someday to be able to meet in person..... Perhaps when I win the lottery and become independently wealthy, I'll take a cross-country trip...... {dreams}
I have some wrinkles. Been out in the sun my whole life. Outdoors kind of person. But hey, every wrinkle was well earned and I had a blast getting them.
I lost about 35 pounds in the past year. Never really had an issue with weight until my mom died and I got real depressed. Then I felt like she was looking down from heaven saying: Linda! You need to exercise.
