I think I commented on janky clone posts/screws but can't find that one now... :D

I think I remember now. Yeah, you said something about some of them having janky posts and screws, and I was hoping mine wouldn't, but they did. Then they sent me the replacements and these will at least hold the wires, but there's some other problem now. The posts SEEM to be OK.

Boden, should I smooth off the bottom edges of the screws, maybe? So they don't "bite" as hard? (If that's even the problem...)

@Boden Science question? All things being equal, same mod, same topper, same battery, same wire coil, looking at voltage settings & Looking at battery life. If I am running a 33 gauge coil at 2.4 ohms and 3.4 volts, 4.82 watts, compared to running a 1.8 ohm coil at 3.0 volts, 5.00 watts, will the battery last longer at the lower volts even though the watts are about the same? Not a womper question, just a science question. Thanks :)
Diference would be trivial.

Question for anyone who might know:

Today Lannie made two coils for her (darn, forgot the name) tank. They both have the same diameter and the same number of turns. She installed them and the screws are tight. That is, none of the coil ends are loose. She couldn't get an Ohm reading that stayed the same twice, so she asked me to look at it. Both coils look good and I verified that neither coil is shorted. Nothing is touching ground on any part of either coil (except the lead that is supposed to be grounded). I tapped the fire button and got a reading of 0.67, then 1.12, then 0.86, then 0.98, then 1.20... I unscrewed it and tightened the adjustable screw in the end of the 510 thread. Reassemble. Same problem. I fired it to make the coils glow. One got very hot very quick, then the other gradually came up to speed, but never matched the first coil before I let go of the button. I put the coil shield on and verified that neither coil touched it and tested the Ohms readings again with the same result, though all readings were higher this time.

Best guesses???

One of the post screws/holes is making a poor connection.

You would? But why would you want to fiddle around with a couple of $9 tanks? If you'd do that, I'd send them to you, though. I'll see if different gauge wire will help, or just not screwing the screws down as hard, but before I launch them at the far wall, I'll ask you again if you still want to mess with them. :)

Yeah, you did, but I think I'd already placed the order by then. I don't remember. And it wasn't even price, because the authentics were only a buck or two more. It was one of my Stoopid Things, I guess. I do Stoopid Things every once in a while.

I can't order any more, so either I get these working (or Boden does), or I do without the Goblins. I have the Serpents, and those are great tanks, and I have the Limitless and the Boreas, plus there's the Lemo2 and the Aromamizer, and the three iSub tanks, so it's not like I don't have tanks, but my vaping style is changing. I'm starting to prefer the tanks with long wicks, as opposed to the iSub coils (which have been my daily drivers for the last year). I never run out of juice in the middle of a vape with a longer wick, and I hate the taste of slightly toasted rayon. I think I need to use less wick in the iSub coils, because I'm "overdriving" them, if you know what I mean. The wicks need to be looser so they'll stay juicy. I think. ;)

If you don't care about the postage I'll check them out if needed.

Yes, there should be a dome on the end.

So I'm looking for a pic of the goblin mini deck. Found this.

Look at the blowout on the negative posts
Do the screw heads come pre-stripped o_O
Do those screws go down past the wire holes? If so... Yikes

I just started ignoring the holes, tired of cutting wires, I just wrap the wire around the head of the screw. I use smaller gauge wire, so for me that works. YMMV

This may be a dumb question, but wouldn't that make it harder to figure the resistance?

OK unless I'm missing something here  No not at all. Resistance would be the same or very close whether under the screw or wrapped on it.

I feel sorry for Rixy - seems to take a lot of punishment across the board and two fryin pan wielders - ... duck... o_O:w00t:
I may or may not have sent out a few fryin pans to a few other ladies

wouldn't this be an oxymoron?

Lannie tomorrow I'm gonna finally have time to get your stuff out.

I'm gonna throw a Goblin (authentic) and a Goblin Mini (authentic) in the box.
you're such a sweetheart!!! But don't worry, I won't tell no one

I guess I was thinking the leads would have to be longer and less wraps to allow for that???

I'm curious as to why you think that would change something?
Edit: never mind :D

I'm in kinda a sea change with vaping.

I no longer like 22mm tanks.

I'm vaping at much higher wattage then I used to.

I hate bottom fill tanks.

I hate older style top fill tanks.

I have no more middle ground. I like my Merlins and K5 but from there I go waaaaay up.

My ADV doesn't satisfy anymore so I have a new one.

I like sweet juice. I like sweet everything but I'm adding 2% sweetner to everything these days. I like it.

The TFV8 with the T8 coil givs me a inner happiness I didn't think possible. I swear I'm gonna throw everything else away. Except the Baby Beast.

are you using mechs?

Sometimes. I vape at 1.5 to 1.8 with my coils. I have been making them so long it is easy, but I kind of like the idea of wrapping around the screw instead of fighting inserting them through the holes - for me it is about as hard as threading a needle. I was just wondering would that change the wraps that I put in the coils since it seems the leads would have to be longer...

I really doubt it. I'm digging out Kayfuns for Fuzzy now. We are talking tanks that ain't been touch in a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

It I need a fall back position I have Chutulu's, Gemini's and Merlins to last...........................oh..........1000 years or so.

I'll be buried with my Chuthlu's. They are when I quit being an ex-smoker and became a vapor. Never thought about smoking again once I got enough air. So they will always be kept. And used if needed.

I could be wrong but I think the difference would be minimal. Maybe instead of a 1.5ohm you may end up with 1.54 or something along those lines.
