OK, been gone all day shopping but I took my Smoke-Box and used it all day. No problems noted during this time and it is vaping very well. It's light and easy to take with you, because of the on-off switch I could put in my pocket and stealth vape when the opportunity presented itself at Sears and some other stores we went to.

I was using my smoke-box yesterday and left it in my pocket and forgot about it. I forgot to turn off the safety switch! When I was sitting at the computer I smelled a funny smell and then yow! I jumped up and pulled out the box and burned my little thumb. It has a nice blister now. I thought "that is unacceptable!" I cant sell crap that that hurts people. So have have these little thermal switches on order that will shut off so you don't burn yourself. So the new (Monkey Box) will have a self resetting thermal switch in addition to the self resetting fuse. It operates like a heat sink drawing heat off the battery adapter, with one leg of the switch soldered to it. But I has to allow for a high enough temp to guarantee vapor production and multiple heavy draws in a row without killing the circuit. So I used a laser thermometer to determine the proper temp cutoff point. I think I have selected the right temp. You can hit' heavy but not start a fire in your pants either! Fun stuff...

I really like the looks of this mod. I have never owned or even thought of owning a box/wood mod, but this here might have started something. I really like the woods used but reeaallly like the inlay!! Just like a backgammon board :D
Tom, it seems like you will be just fine, just stay at it and enjoy it! You are in the right place.

Good job Jcamacho on all the constructive and useful comments/reviews!

I just might get me one from the new batch of these. but I would DEFINITIVELY get a variable volt model in a heartbeat! *hint hint wink wink at tom :)

I am considering making a vari volt model that comes with a separate voltmeter to check the output for around 130.00 It will be slightly larger to accomodate the extra stuff.

Just got done reading through this forum. I am definitly going to buy one of these!! I have never owned a wood mod. This one looks lie very good quality. And i really like the little tidbits of it like the self resetting switch and thermal switch. When will the next batch be ready?

I am taking 15 orders for them now $85 plus 5 shipping... let me know email tombuss2000@yahoo.com with what selection you want for the sides body and lid. I am posting pictures of the woods. Email me your choices and I will set you up for a custom one. They should be ready to send out I am hoping within 7 days. I am awaiting a few materials in the mail from industrial supply places.

This go-round' is the Monkey box, and it will be slightly different dimensions, looks almost the same but the safety switch will be on the side with a flush slide to eliminate the need for a guard and the wood is whatever you pick.

Indeed! Tom, nice job your doing man. I can appreciate the number of hours it must take you to put one of these together. Folks think $130 or so is expensive, but if you break down your hourly time - parts cost you probably net about $2/hour. LOL

Personally, I see the entrepreneurs making all these nice mods as doing a favor for the community. Simply opening your wallet is the EASY part! Thanks for your efforts Tom.
