It will get cheaper as time goes by and you complete your basic run-time setup. And then you will chase the new and exciting. but even that will slow as you get more selective. All along, if you reflect back on your cigarette consumption it will all look much better. For me and my wife, in the last 7 months we've spent (mostly I) $1,132. Sounds like a lot, but during that time we would have spent $3,567 on cigarettes which puts us ahead by $2,435. Not to mention the whole health improvement and long term medical avoidance. Hang in there it is so worthwhile on so many levels.

well,,,,,,

you now have a fabulous set up, some fabulous back ups, and I'm HOPING some great juice delivery devices,,,,,,,

it should be a cake walk from here

some of that depends on you.

It's really like anything else,,,,,,,,,set a budget,,,,,stick to it,,,,,,,save for what you want,,,, and don't spend the mortgage money.

follow that, and you'll be fine.

If you look at my signature you will notice that I have not spent $10,000.00 on cigarettes, pipes, and cigars.
no wonder the governor is ......

Of course it took time to reach that milestone, and of course it costs money to vape. But, if you think about it, it even costs money to sleep. So how much does it actually cost to vape?

Like most, I spent a fair amount learning what I like during those first few months. I even spent a fair amount chasing my tail down that rat hole of the latest & greatest. But, after a while even that becomes somewhat pointless. I probably have enough stuff sitting in the zombie box to last several lifetimes. In fact the guys at the vape shop were giving me a hard time about buying a "years supply of cartos" last time I was in. (one box of cartos) That's because I wrap my own coils now (maybe 30c/month), make my own e-liquid (maybe $6/month). So the bottom line is that I 'don't have to spend anything' to vape anymore, I already have enough stuff.

    I resemble that remark..........:p

To be honest, my first post was a little "tongue and cheek." I have several hobbies, know how to lurk the top forums on those subjects and I know how quickly things can get expensive (especially with a "buy the best" personality). I just didn't know how to say hello so I figured I'd ask a some what open ended question to break the ice and in true ECF fashion the reply's were honest and encouraging. This is one of the best forums I have ever seen in terms of people truly trying to help other people out. Thanks for all the positive advice, everyone here rules in my book.

BTW converted two people who chew this weekend, one day with my back up and lol, no more using tobacco.

I was using the Vape app for Android (doesn't appear to be available for iOS) to track my smoking vs. vaping expenses and was about to break even at the beginning of October...then I bought some more stuff :vapor: Egads! At this point I've stopped keeping track, because ignorance is bliss. At least I know what I like now, right? (But I still need a protank, I think, and some Five Pawns juice). Anywho, there's always this thread:

It doesn't get cheaper, nothing ever gets cheaper.
You can save money over smoking but you have to follow this simple advice ... STOP BUYING STUFF. The only thing you buy are the expendables (liquid and attys).

You don't have to do that for long. Figure up how much you spent on cigarettes per month. Figure up how much you've spent on ecigs. Get something that works "good enough" and stick with it. Eventually you will hit a break even point.
At that point continue NOT BUYING STUFF.
After a few month's you're ahead. Then you can buy stuff. When you hit on something good stick with it, maybe a year. Then you'll be way ahead and you can go nuts buying stuff. But still keep track because it's easy to go nuts and make up for all that you saved. I've been hovering around $1000 ahead since my 1 year anniversary because I've been going nuts, if I didn't keep track I'd be in the hole again.

BTW, I started with an eGo-C kit and bought backups and stocked up on liquids. By 6 months I was breaking even.

    It all depends upon YOU.

Vaping is a means to an end, it's a safer way to deliver nicotine than smoking. Minimally, to achieve ONLY that, it is indeed cheaper.

Unlike smoking which is so limited and two dimensional, vaping is endless in it's variety and experiences. Flavors, equipment, supplies, the combinations to achieve "the ultimate vape" are limitless.

    THAT is not cheaper.

Like vaping itself, you define your own needs and limits when it comes to what you do with it. For me, it's a means to an end, a way to get the nic into myself with better health and lower cost. For the admission price of a couple of months worth of cigarettes, I can, quite literally, vape for a couple of years cost free. The savings will come after I've determined what works best for me and laid in the supplies to do it. Will it get cheaper for me? That's the plan.

Will it get cheaper for YOU? That's up to YOU.

I was really worried when I first started also with all the things I was ordering, oh my gosh it was crazy and I could not stop. Then after trying countless liquids, I found the vendor I LOVE and stopped looking around, I have set ups that has worked without fault since day 1, my vamo and the itaste 3......my bottom feed kangers and evods and well these all just work so well for me.....I spend about $50 a month on my liquid, if that....with cigs it was at least that a week :) I am curious about the mini protank, but I'll wait a while :) I have about 8 - 10 cigalikes, a 1000 vv twist, two ego minis, a 650 ego and these things all now sit as I use my vamo and itaste and actually the only time I use the vamo now is when the itaste needs a charge....it's worked that good for me! :) Have fun! :)

I started lurking in the Provari and Red sub forums. Dammit, that was dumb and as of today I'm now an owner of a Provari.

    Taki

I'm on my phone and didn't feel like starting from the beginning again but in case it hasn't been said you need a backup and a backup for the backup.

In case it has been said then consider this a reminder. :vapor:

Be satisfied with the provari and get a good tank and you wont need to spend another dime except for DIY juice components and rebuildable atomizer parts

Unless you start hanging in the ProVari forum and quickly realize many people have more than one. :D

I've had mine less than a month so it's time for me to purchase my backup. I'm thinking I want a Reo.

Its an obsesssion, it never gets cheaper.....
I have to take days off from work to be here to sign for vapemail!
I've been corresponding by email with a nice fellow from Denmark about making me a custom mod-holder for all the stuff I've accumulated in just a couple of months!
It never ends, I tell you.....:)

I see people with tons of mods and juices and I'm afraid to get into that. Right now I have two ego batteries and a mini protank 2. Just purchased the protank. I just put in my first order for DIY juices to help me save. I also have two VV ego twists that should be in tomorrow. I hope that will satisfy me for now. I am content with what I have... I think.

It gets cheaper the more you learn about what's good and what's not so good. Lots of people buy everything that someone posts about, only to find that the poster wasn't so informed. You can spend a lot of money buying one of everything in the candy store. Go to YouTube and search for Pbusardo. His video reviews will tell you the ins and outs of just about every popular product out there.

Read the threads about a tentative purchase and see what people are saying about that new mod, or juice, or tanks and cartos. You will save lots of money by learning about other peoples' mistakes!
