Lol yeah I think it comes down to finding something you like and stop trying to get something bigger and better every week. I told my self after i got my eGo that since I like this during christmas time i'll look to see if i want to invest in a nice 5v/6v device or maybe a 3.7 without a proprietary battery but not until then. It's self control which may be hard to have when just getting into something. I just read reviews and watch videos and posts here, gather information for when i want to spend my money so i spend it wisely.

Some people want to be Experts on vaping and know everything out there and some just want to vape get their fix and enjoy some nice flavors. If you choose the former it will take longer to break even and may even cost more than smoking but if you choose the latter then once you settle down with something you like and you figure out a good system it gets so cheap you will cry thinking about the thousands wasted on smoking. No worries you smile again thinking about all the thousands you will save now that you switched :D

Yeah it's like an addiction, but so is cigarettes. I have plenty of batteries for my 510. And I have the eGo. I figured when I get the eGo I would abandon the 510 but low and behold I just ordered a copper, a pink, a titanium, and a black battery (and matching atty's) for my 510. And am on the hunt for the titanium battery with the white LED.

I need help ;)

oh and just as a side note; When I was a smoker I would get very annoyed when people would ask me if I had an extra cigarette (How many do I have to have to have an extra???? lol ), but now I'm giving out parts and juice left and right. Weird!

My spending is finally dropping off after a few months on over drive. I'm ordering juice about once every two weeks now along with a couple of atomizers to add to my stock. I'm considering a bulk juice purchase at some point but the buying frenzy is over.

This forum makes it worse. We have a "keeping up with the Vapeses" thing going on lol and if I see a sale from one of my favorite vendors it is hard to resist.

I've spent somewhere around $700 since I started vaping in July...I try to keep my signature realistic, so right now I've got over 200 days before I break even, and that might even be unrealistic. I agree with Shannon that "keeping up with the vapeses" can be expensive. :)

I figure that once I figure out what I truly like (carto or atty, juices, etc.), I'll be able to slow down. I'm still in my buying fury at this point. I never once thought when I made the switch that vaping would be so pleasurable, exciting and fun.

I don't really care about the expense at this point. I'm having fun, and I'm being healthier while I'm at it. :vapor:

I'm trying to maintain some fiscal restraint, by taking a pragmatic approach and looking at ecigs simply as a replacement for analogs, and eventually weaning myself off nicotine altogether. I bought a Yeti starter kit about a month ago, and some ejuice. Since then I have bought some more batteries, and a 5-pack of cartomizers.

Then, curious about DIY eliquid, I bought a small assortment of flavorings, unflavored nic juice, and some VG and PG. Played with that for a week or so and decided that I should try some premixed eliquids, thinking that someone has already made something that I would like as a daily vape.

So far I've spent @225, and my monthly bill for analogs would be around 200. Since my current stock will last me at least couple of months, I will come out ahead pretty soon. I figure sometime around the holidays I'll take some of my savings and upgrade my hardware.

I think there is a 'saturation point" where you get enough juices and enough hardware be it backup or new trends, i've spent close to 1k in the 2 months ive been vaping, so by the 3rd and 4th month, i should be at the break even point, its all realative tho, 1 -15ml bottle of juice will last 3 or 4 days (if thats all you vaped) and i've got a half dozen or so that i liked "just ok" that have been set aside in favor of ones i REALLY like, so, it comes down to adding it all up, and how much "VAPE TIME" you actually have if you bought nothing else til you really needed it. If that makes sense. I could probably go 2 months without buying anything now , so effectively ive got 4 months @ just under 1k = 200 (there abouts) a month --definately cheaper than analogs!

Oh, and my first ecig was a 510 kit with 4 of the little batts, i got an aditional 5 atomizers for it (worried i would burn thru the 2 with the kit which didnt happen) PLUS an additional purchase for batts and attys from health cabin, so from a hardware standpoint, and what ive actually worn out , i may have several months of hardware!

it just gets better and better!

Yes it will break you up until you find your everyday vape, what i mean is you will finally find the personal vaporizer that you love to use everyday all day and then you will find the e liquids that you love to and it will only cost you the amount of e liquid that you vape so give it some time and i promise it will be a lot cheaper than smoking analogs it took me almost 4 months to find the right battery and cartomizers and juice that i like and now all i buy is my liquid that i vape all month long and if a battery dies out ill replace that but its no where near as expensive as smoking was, hope this helps

I just ordered juice today, so that puts my e-cig expenses at almost $400 just since the 21st of this month! Yikes! I'll more than likely dish out some more at the end of this week for an eGo and a PT, but this will be worth every penny in the long run!
Don't worry. It'll settle down. I think most folks, if they can afford it, go into a buying frenzy once they discover the possibilies of pv's. The search for the right juices might be the biggest part for many. It's also difficult for many of us to not go head over heels into this as a hobby/obsession.

I buy diy juice and make it myself. Instant savings. I spent almost two cartons worth getting equipment and juice for initial investment. I am still ahead, WAY ahead! I have saved way more money than the calculators show, since I am stocking for my son as well. I still have plenty of juice and flavors, prolly lasting more than a month left. I have far surpassed the length of time those cartons would have lasted, not counting the continual replacement of lighters that I lose and I love the fact that I feel fantastic.

Vaping has saved me a ton of money. I actually have spending change at the end of my paychecks now, something that never happened while smoking. I may ponder out getting an upgrade to my kr808 (I don't have a bunch of different stuff, just the one) with the new edition cartomizers, but that's about it for right now. I would love to have a 901 cartomizer with the flat tip...lol, but the 808 does exactly what I want. It makes me feel good! :D

Also, as a 35 year smoker, i was DETERMINED to make e-cigs work for me, as i absolutely needed to quit analogs, so i guess i over did it a bit if for nothing else "peace of mind" or "insurance agaisnt failure" and so far, its worked!

2 months quit as of today! ! ! yahoo :)

Same for me. I wanted a huge choice and multiple back ups to keep from going back to analogs. It worked this time and my investment reminds me of how committed I am to staying off analogs. I could have done this much cheaper but now vaping is my hobby. Some people buy motorcycles or boats or jewelery. I buy ecig goodies.
