So I started with the ego 3.7, moved on to the 5v box mod from madvapes. I have used this mod for the last few months without any issues(hence the on/off switch). Using standard attys and dripping. I feel that its time to move on. Im really looking for a decent VV mod that isnt going to break the bank either. Not really into the whole carto aspect but yet but would consider. Just tired of racking my brain with reviews on yt. Any ideas would be great.

Price Range: $75-150
VV: 3-6v
FV: 5v (other then box mod)

I know not to many newer mods accept a TF14500 but have a stock pile of them. So if there is another mod that accepts them please let me know.

Hey Socal,

I have been doing this for 3+yrs and all I can say is once you go VV you will not regret it in fact you won't go back, you will be very impressed with how you can fine tune an atty or carto to your taste.

I have had great luck with the buzz good solid device no worries with it, you can find a blemished one now and again on the notcigs website for around $100.00 throw in some batts and a charger you gotta look around for a good deal, and you could make it at the $150.00 limit also you can find them in the for sale section now and again.

I moved on to a provari for the ability to check the ohms on my clearome repairable atty and I will say I would not be with out one (provari) ever again it is more than your $150.00 max price, but it is such a good PV rock solid and it is awesome with repairable attys.

I don't have a Lava tube so I can not comment on it.

Hope some of this might help you.

thanks guys. I have racked my brain the last few days and had my wife (she has never smoked or vaped) look through some of my choices and she said the darwin due to the looks. then she realized the price and slapped the back of my head. she ended picking the Lambo for myfreedomsmokes. She said that if this VV works out she will look into the darwin or provari. (As a bday gift) Will let you guys know when i get it.

I also will keep my mods from madvapes in use since they will be my travel/work pv's.

Would like to know where to get tanks for this other than COV?
What other ohms should i be trying with a vv?

or just maybe a list of accessories you found useful using a vv apv

The Lambo is another "Lavatube" with the 2.5 amp limit. I recommend 3.0 ohm cartomizers with this setup. I did a review on the 2.5 amp limit Lavatube at Lavatube Variable Voltage Mod | InVape. You can see how the different ohm cartos performed.

The Darwin is a variable wattage device, much like a "kicked" device, where as the Provari is a variable voltage device. Both are extremely precise.

When I do use a carto I use standard boge 3.0 ohm and a J-tank from electronicstix pretty solid combo.

The ego twist may serve your needs and that would be your cheapest option. However, it's not going to be a great performer with 1.5 ohm DCs. You'll probably need to get two if you go that route because of battery life. The newer lavatubes V3s really address some of the lacks in the original version but, the V3s are hard to get right now. I have a Madvapes VV box and it does perform as well or better than a lot of higher priced mods. However, it has a linear regulator. That limits battery life.

The one lower cost alternative that hasn't been mentioned is the Smoketek Varicool. Yeah, it's a plastic box like the Madvapes VV but, it uses a switching regulator which will give you a lot longer battery life.

Where in so cal are yoh located? Im in long beach.

I grabbed my provari from a brick and mortar shop called vape revolution.

They got a bunch of good stiff there at great prices.

Id go ego twist or provari mini .

Im in the glendora area. Fishing once a week in LB though out of 22nd street.

I ordered some different types of attys, carts, ect from various sites the last few days. Waiting on a new ce2 for my 5ml tank from cov or try to covert it to the dct.

I had a few other questions re the battery for the "lambo".

Button top or flat for this device?
would these work

I was just stumped that there isnt much about this VV device. I know that most dont use madvapes but I have never had an issue and have been very dependable. I do get batteries other places mentioned here but more or less use MV due to points (love free stuff)

Yea I love the box mods but cant stand that on/off switch if anything gets in there and corrodes the switch its either rebuild or poxy it up to permanent on.
